  1. Louisa - I'm going to award you a degree in stating the bleedin obvious. Wear it with pride. Obviously we all feel true grief at times in our lives.
  2. There you go comparing deaths again. Can we, who feel that way, not just say that Cilla is a sad loss.
  3. Taking friends and family out of the equation then we are analyzing whether a loss of someone you never met can be a sad loss. Of course it can. Comparing it to the death of a child is just asking people to feel uncomfortable in feeling the loss of a celebrity, nothing wrong with feeling sympathy or some level of sadness or grief for our Cilla.
  4. As Cilla Black was the highest profile presenter on British TV for a number of years and a national favourite I'd say this is a very sad loss although she was not a major factor in recent years. The recent biopic of her was fantastic and now seems well timed.
  5. This week.....and I'm still in there.

  7. Defo with Jeremy on this. If there was no demand there would be no incentive for people to create these videos. Whether he paid or not is a red herring, he is very much part of the overall crime. And to be in a position of trust with children is very worrying. Personally I don't put my children in contact with anyone who is trusted because he is the public face of a church or religion. All too respectful and often without justification as can be evidenced here and I countless other cases over the decades. ..
  8. PGC is the Oracle on the cricket. Love her input. Ps. And always the best girl on the EDF. PPS. Typed with a slightly dizzy head and listening to Van from Cyprus Avenue.

Left to their own mind (online) they might not have thought so.

Listen to your wife. They are in a job for a reason. They are good at selling houses to people, for more than they want to pay and for more than they are worth.
  12. DR - The Alexandra has always been Irish. Used to live there mid 1990s.
  13. I don't think I should be able to pick as I haven't been for so long - but I don't think the club has been to Dulwich Tandoori for a while - is that right and if so is that an ok choice?
  14. Charliebubs.....if you let Mikey down again there could be trouble. His little heart is almost broken.

I was going to say its generally only first time buyers are buying with salary, second time buyers are buying with capital on previous properties. However thinking again, many first time buyers are not using their own money either! - its often subsidised with remortgaged money from their parents' gains. Salary is far from being everything. Confidence is a major factor - when it goes the market corrects significantly.

  20. Irelands 5 greatest boxers "Despite its small population Ireland has produced many successful boxers. In this article we take a look at the top 5 best Irish boxers in history! Eamonn Loughran makes it on our list of top 5 best Irish boxers in history. In 1987 he represented Ireland and was awarded silver in the World Junior Boxing Championships. The same year Loughran turned a professional boxer and began his winning streak. After defeating Lorenzo Smith he became the WBO World Welterweight Champion and defended his title an impressive 5 times." edited to add: He also fought MickMac from the EDF when aged 9 in a fight which didn't last long. Possibly Eamon's greatest victory

I have been in there in the past on a Friday night with a teacher from one of the schools and he was spotted by a number of his pupils who obviously being under drinking age looked a little embarrassed - he also felt slightly awkward I think.

"The Cherry Tree acquisition takes Redcomb Pub?s estate to 14." the other pubs in the "chain" look good. You can even become a "local" Benefits for becoming a ?LOCAL? A complimentary "welcome drink" when you collect your card at the Village Inn (after 10th September).* A monthly ?30 bar tab to be won each month. A bottomless tea or coffee pot (after you have finished your first one) A birthday treat (a glass of Prosecco or a bottle when dining with 4 friends) Priority invitations to events, offers and promotions throughout the year. *A pint of draught beer/lager/cider, 275/330ml bottle of premium lager, a 175ml glass of wine by the glass, a bottle of J2O or Mineral Water or a glass of draught Pepsi, Diet Pepsi or Lemonade.
  24. There are some cheaper beers around in some pubs, as discussed on EDF before - what you wont get in ED these days is a cheap pub. I think ?4+ is the norm now I'm afraid. its ?5 you need to worry about, as I suspect that's around the corner. Buying two pints and not being sure if a tenner will cover it is not too far away I suspect.
