  1. You can't get in to the baby sessions in Peckham often though unless you go in earlier to buy an advance ticket. Plus it's impossible to park.
  2. I'm disappointed there is no softplay :-(
  3. I think you can give piriton after a certain age which is another antihistamine. Also various types of tyxilix which vary by age but some of them are cold relief formulations. If a baby with a cold is very miserable, i'd get the dr to look in their throat and ears in case of an infection.
  4. I think it's more they keep you on the list and as a place comes up they let you know..

  6. You will havw to track the as the crow flies distance from the actual house to each school to determine which is closest, and how far you are. Then Southwark should be able to tell you how far the furthest non-sibling entrant was this year (but bear in mind Heber took in 90 rather than 60 pupils this year and both Goodrich and Heber, having had bulge classes, may have more siblings next year than usual) You need to get in on the closest community school criteria, rather than the lower priority which is just distance. I don't think anyone gets in on that criteria really to those schools.
  7. I think I'd be inclined to give some calpol and share a hot bath together, if it was me (with the lights low and no toys but lots of cuddles) and then see if he can drop off to sleep on your shoulder, held a bit upright. If he sleeps in a cot, try propping the head end up on a book. You could try creating some steam in the room with karvol or olbas oil (bowl of hot water well out of reach)
  8. I think taking an afternoon off work and popping round in a few weeks when she is on her own with the baby, with a portable deli lunch and then taking the baby out for a few hours for a walk while she has a bath and a nap, would be worth its weight in gold!
  9. Taxis this side can be ordered with car seats (though it's a headache if they turn up to collect you and have forgotten the seat!) Taxis in Egypt are a bit mad, the roads are crazy.
  10. Just keep massaging those lumps, take nurofen and feed as often as you can. The horrid fluey feeling can descend but I usually found those steps were enough to get proper mastitis at bay.
  11. Some diarolyte in your luggage in case she does get d&v would be handy
  12. Pharmacies are good for any little illnesses, much cheaper than hotel dr
  13. Yoghurt, mashed banana... pasta plain or what sauce you choose, lots of bread... I think it's ok.. ours were JUST on solids and it was 2w x twins so we couldn't take enough anyway! Are you taking car seat for hair raising taxi ride?
  14. Yes.. breastmilk and milk from the hotel. We would take a jug away from meals and put in our fridge. Supermarkets sell nappies and jarred food, gerber, which is american, some of has sugar added mind you and it's puree rather than second stage!

Probabkly would tick many of the boxes, you might be surprised!
  16. I have been too Sharm and Hurghada many times and rarely has anyone I have been with had a problem. We took our son when he was 3 and our twins at 7m. The sort of food on the buffets tends to me made to order omelettes, croissants, bread, fruit, cheese, yoghurt at breakfast. Pasta, salad etc at lunch and a variety of things at dinner. There is always bread and fruit.
  17. There are some good fact sheets about iron and stuff there and I noticed some re faddy eaters... though not had the chance to actually read them...

  19. Buggie, I think just do the best you can... if you feed as often as you can from the R then hopefully it will be Ok .. just keep an eye out and hand express in the shower if it starts to get very full/put a cold cabbage leaf in your bra
  20. Avoiding tea, coffee, acidic drinks etc can help too. Not eating too late in the evening.

  22. Relevant news report today: http://news.uk.msn.com/odd-news/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=154735997
  23. maybe a tiny share of a nanny...
  24. You can take ranitidine or omeprazole in pg. I was so bad with heartburn and retching with the twins I was admitted to hospital and had a little camera put down my throat! This time round I am, again, getting through oodles of gaviscon. Dr very disapproving, thinks I should take two tablets once a day!!
