  1. I see what you mean but it wasn't me who said that

  5. I mailed sixt. Can I report this to the police via email.. or what no do I call? I have 10,000 other things to do today...
  6. On LL I witnessed this at 10am this morning, the damaged car was WP05 EPD, a white SIXT hire van VR10 VYY hit the front driver side as it was trying to park (the van driver was chatting on his mobile) A slim fair haired guy. PM me if you need a witness. Other people, anything more I should do? There was no point me putting a note on the damaged car as if the driver didn't intend to deal with it himself, he was parked right by and probably would have taken the note off.
  7. I have B/G twins and it has always been very noticeable that her language is mich more advanced... now at 26m he is meaking huge leaps. I found a useful site about language acquisition that went through the various stages from passive understanding to single words (clarity isn't important as long as you can understand) then phrases like "No milk" and then "Hot milk" and then "My milk" that sort of thing... DS1 was an early talker, though. So I think it's just them, not us. When you have twins you realise how much is down to differences between children, rather than something you have or haven't done ad the parent...

"class and style which colours the intonation of anything and doesn't pally up in pile of judgements and frazzled nonsense." Eh?
  11. PS for the first 4m they sleep randomly but most of the time, I think after that they become more wakeful but also you can discern/encourage more of a pattern The first 4m are pretty much about finding your feet, getting to know each other, and for the baby, learning the world is an Ok place
  12. I read a study into links between early behaviour and later sleep patterns, the key thing seemed to be a certain amount of "neglect" ie letting the baby grumble itself off to sleep from quite early on. Though whether those babies later woke any less (or whether the parents just didn't rush in) is a bit unclear. I think everyone has a different tolerance to a crying baby... Anyway the key tip I think is to try as much as possible to put the baby down still awake, to go to sleep itself. How you go about that don't ask me, mine have always fallen asleep feeding/lying on me!!!

  20. I have noticed that the dog that regularly shits in my front garden seems to be one that takes itself for a walk down my road every morning at about 11am.. I presume that's not allowed? I also saw a dog run through the outside area of P Rye cafe on Weds just hearing the owner whistling to it from the car park, and it squatted and shat all across the grass in between the tables. Lovely.
