buggie Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > to be fair to the surgery - would be very > surprised if they would have called to check all > was ok, What I meant was, the midwives had my message in tears early yesteday morning, the midwife who was on her way out to do a visit at 9am was stopped by the receptionist and asked what to do, then the GP left them a message at lunchtime asking them to contact me. I do feel they should have got back to me yesterday. If I don't hear from them today I think I will complain to the PCT. I am still bleeding and am having pains as well and even though the baby looked Ok on the scan, how do I know if I am going into premature labour, and who am I supposed to ask?

Yes, that's true. When I filled in all the forms I told them I am on heparin etc (had a DVT in my first pregnancy and pre-eclampsia in my second and have a clotting disorder) and I am sure that is partly the cause of this bleeding.. the EPU also said the placenta is at the front so I guess it took the brunt of the seatbelt. I must say the receptionist at DMC was very good, she couldn't get the mw team on the phone either but she saw a mw on the way out and went to talk to her, but all she said was to go to a and e. The GP I spoke to said they would get the mws to call me (but to go to EPU in the meantime) Then I spoke later to the same receptionist and expressed my disgust they hadn't even called to check I was OK.. she said she'd get the practice manager to call me (though apparently the mws are independent) but noone called back. I don't want all this to upset me all the more, but it is! I did try to get booked in at the joint obstetrucs/specialist haematology clinic they do for women with clotting issues, but the mws at Kings said they couldn't book me in as I was down as being with the Lanes. So I have had no luck being seen by them either. It's all totally stupid.

I've lost confidence in them totally now. Not only have I left multiple messages on their machine over the last few weeks, this morning I was literally sobbing and begging them to call me. It just seems totally unprofessional for them to not respond at all.
-
I've called DMC to make a complaint. You would think by now the midwives would have my message from this morning, the GP's emssage and would have called to apologise and check everything is alright.

Thanks everybody... have help here with the babies and am flopping on the bed. Totally traumatic experience!

hi all home again feeling very relieved after the receptionist said i was too late to be scanned i waited an hour for the nutse then i got cross and thought this is pointless maybe if i go ninto antenatal they could at least listen= in so i went and told the snotty receptioist then a nurse came over and said i needed a scan and i was in the scan queue after all (where do they get their rceptionists?!) i was scanned and everything ok, need to rest and go back if i bleed heavily
-
am at epu but apparently the clinic is closed i am going to see a nurse even more upset now the mau here is just from 16w maybe if they wont scan me they will listen to the baby at least anyway as maybe i should stop my bloodthinners for a whule, i might go and look for my haematology consultant see what he says only person i trust at kings
-
Thanks for advice and all offers of help Gp also said to go to EPU A friend of mine suggested contacting my nanny who doesn't work for me today but is free and is going to drive us all up to Kings and push the babies about in their buggy while I go to the EPU Just got to get everyone dressed now. At least i have stopped sobbing temporarily. I am so good in any emergency unless it requires me to go to hospital, in whch case I become a total wreck

I'm a bit of a ditz about drs and hospitals, hate them saw midwives at DMC at about 5w pg, they took info and sent me for scan and said they would book me in abt about 12w. heard nothing, then got letter at about 13w saying they hadn't managed to contact me so unless they heard from me they would assume they didn't need care. Rang them right away, left several message on their machine and also had a gripe at the GP's receptionist. but they still haven't got back to me. I'm now 15w pg and last night a car drove into the back of me... had very sore back and tummy last night.. then this morning some bleeding. Rang midwives again, left very upset message on answerphone but no callback. rang receptionist, she grabbed a midwife who was on her way out who said to go to a and e. Now waiting for a GP to call. What do you think I should do? I'm so upset and I'm on my own with the twins and I just can't think straight.

My weaning book by Lucy Burney which is very cautious about potential allergens says to avoid at first the "deadly nightshade family" of vegetables as they contain substances that a baby may be sensitive to. These include aubergines, tomatoes, potatoes and peppers.

SB: on days out usually I leave at about 11.. so they can sleep then and later don't come home till 6ish (put them in pjs in car then straight into bed) or leave early and they have two naps those days (they always sleep in the car) but can then be awkward with bedtime -

2 questions - b/f weaning and NAPS!
Fuschia replied to snowboarder's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Mine started to nap at about 11am... I struggled to fit lunch in before that, now they have a big snack (or rarely, lunch) by 12 and like to nap from about 12.15 I think having an warly 11am lunch for a while then nap (and avoiding car/buggy trips during the previous morning nap time) will help him transition -
Yes, they're all full

Best Start for babies Rye Oak Childrens Centre
Fuschia replied to Eliza.D's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Are they sure ED mums are "allowed" to attend?! -
In term sor iron and nutrients it's much the same as first formula. It's casein (curds) based rather than whey though (like hungry baby milk) Old fashioned formula really, sure they make it with the leftovers from first formula production!
-
Follow on milk is just a ploy to get round the ban on first formula advertising (and being harder to digest, some babies reject it anyway) I wouldn't bother
