Stop picking daffodils from GG and Peckham Rye Park!!
Fuschia replied to Louisa's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I think it's very rude for parents to allow their children to pick flowers in the parks! One or two, before you can stop them, maybe, but it's not right to condone the practice. -

Hello, could we have a couple of week's trial membership to see if the parking would be Ok for us? We have baby twins and really do need somewhere with easy access.

This closed for refurb about 2 years ago, originallythe signs said it would be a few months. I called the council last July who said it should be done by Sept 08. Another 7 months have passed and no progress. Does anyone have any idea why?

That's great, but what were they thinking providing such a scant filling in the first place? I like cafe 2050, but I do think the portions are rather meagre. i'm breastfeeding and I get really hungry, and their scrambled egg comes with just one piece of toast, I always have to ask for toast and jam on the side.

We had two chickens which got scoffed by a fox while they were in the garden, even though I was in the house. :-( We won't replace them, so will be selling our chicken house which is basically a small sturdy shed with a little wooden walkway to get in, and a roof which lifts to take out the eggs. It needs to be placed in a pen built for the chickens to get out and peck. We also have a feeder and a water holder. If anyone is interested, let me know. IIRC it cost about ?90 new.

Nice circular argument developing here. It's not Ok to change a nappy in a pub.. but it's Ok to feed a baby in a toilet. Que?! Though I'm sure Louisa is tongue in cheek there.

TillieTrotter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Absolutely is, although as with everything, > discretion is needed. Tell that to the babies though! You can arrange yourself ever so discreetly, and then the baby decides to crane over its shoulder and smirk at passersby while your suddenly exposed nipple squirts milk at the man next to you on the train. I speak theoretically, of course. Nothing so embarrassing has ever happened to me, honest, guv! And perish the thought, if it did, that microbite or mikecg might be on the receiving end!!

microbite Wrote:...I do think some mothers have > taken it a wee bit too far in that some now > defiantly get their tits out wherever they want, > whether child is hungry or not Really? I can assure you I have no desire to "get my tits out", if my babies aren't asking for milk... and they'd hardly eat if they weren't hungry. What a quaint view. I mean, I'm a committed breastfeeder, but I get a bit fed up with endlessly feeding, and I can assure you I don't add in little extra feeds "for no reason" !

I'd just put in a plea for mums of twins.. I often have to change one in the buggy, as you can't fit a double buggy in most changing rooms and there is nowhere to leave baby no 2 if you take both in with you. I don't think I'd do a poo-ey nappy indoors though (but who knows if such an emergency might arise)

Kings College Hospital - going to the dogs?

I had a bad experience with early pg scanning, with my twins. Consultant told us to make a return appt for the next week.. receptionist was adamant she couldn't do it, they didn't ever give appts, and we'd have to come and queue at the drop in. Which we did, and after waiting for 2h, I was quite unwell. When we finally got in, told the consultant, and asked why she'd said make an appt, if such a thing isn't possible. She told us that the proble was that the receptionist didn't know HOW to make appts on the computer!!! -

My son is 6 and seems a bit deaf. Hence our request to be referred,, which was 4m ago, now! -

Funny what you say about audiology. Received a letter about an appt for my son.. the appt was the day before! Called to complain, was told that they have no more appts to offer until they employ a locum. Now my gp has written to me to tell me off for missing the appt.
