I stayed indoors mostly in my pjs for a month when the twins were born... was lovely.. you can slob around for a few weeks and eat and watch Tv.. and then later on you can get out and about.. I think with baby no 1 you don't realsie how wucikly things change... enjoy that babymoon.. and yes re little leather shoes, and gap socks being the only ones that stay on.. little leather shoes cost just ?9 if you buy via ebay.. not ?20 like ED shops!! For breastfeeding - get some free syringes from the chemist in case they don't latch well... better than offering a bottle and getting nipple confusion.. just express a little and offer via syringe if they're getting sleepy/yellow/not feeding in the first days. For milk fever/starts of mastitis - take nurofen, a scalding hot shower, and feed feed feed or express!! hand express in the shower if it's really bad.

Oh I don't know, my instinct is to have a LARGE glass of wine every day at 4pm!!! (Somehow I manage to delay)

Anyone got any ideas to share? My tips include: Keep them in baby grows as much as possible, saves work. Buy white/pale colours as easier to wash than brights. Buy vanish to get tid of bright yellow newborn poo!! Get yourself a flask for whe you don't get a chance to make yourself a cuppa! Get your partner, if you have one, to fill it in the morning for you!

For those who do eat eggs: Huevas rancheros Cook some spring onion, pepper, tomato in a bit of butter till soft (roughly chopped) in a wok. Stir in beaten eggs, scramble so the veg is mixed in. Sprinkle with chilli sauce if wished, serve with wraps, grated cheese, guacamole, refried beans, salad, sour cream etc.

Stir fry. What we eat a lot is meze sort of meal... hummous, greek yoghurt with mint and garlic, potato salad, lamb kebab or chops, grilled halloumi, greek salad, roasted veg... people can take what they want so suits us... 2 veggies out of 5 and one bloke who doesn't really like veg!!!!

Pasta stirred with pesto, peas and philly.
-
Butternut squash (and chicken) risotto Mini pizzas - put tom/veg sauce and grated cheese onto a moistened round pitta bread and put in the oven.

I make a very easy veg pasta bake.. Steam some frozen green veg - peas, beans, broad beans, maybe some fresh asparagus or diced courgettes, baby leaf spinach. Cook some pasta spirals. Mix the veg, the pasta, some philadelphia, some grated cheese. Serve as it is or you could pop in the oven for a few mins. Is also nice made with blue cheese cubes stirred in.

Good idea How about frittata - omelette with courgettes, pepppers, potatoes Fish pie Roast vegetables

I wouldn't pick 12, lots of children sleep then plus it's the middle of lunch for those that don't... -

The picnic area is fenced off, has tables and trees to climb on. -

It would just be nice to plonk ourselves in the picnic area at P Rye and let the bigger ones build a den or play hide and seek or something... -

PS If we do form some sort of summer mus club, I'm good at googling and finding stuff that's on. There are usually things on at libraries and childrens centres etc locally. But if you have a few extra kids, something like a picnic just becomes much more fun! -
Anybody want to hook up to fill the Summer holidays? Lots of our friends will be away or the mums work all through the Summer. I have a 6 yo boy (very full of beans, likes to play with girls as well as boys) and 14m old b/g twins. We like to hang out at Dulwich Park, the Horniman, Peckham Rye Park, we can drive, keen to try paddling pools, the fountain things at Sydenham Wells, ... anything that's open (is CP one o'clock club open?) Free activities of any kind, in fact! Anyone want to get together as a bit of a posse and meet up to do stuff as I find managing things like buying myself a cup of tea or going to the loo is hard work with a double buggy in tow!! It might work to suggest a place to meet each day and any mums who're free just pitch up... no need to have an older child but personally I'd be looking for places that would suit an older one as well as babies.. one of mine is walking, one is still crawling.
