Fine by me...is 10 too early? Maybe say 10-12.30?

There will also be animals that were scared because of it. But anyway, if you want to let off fireworks, do it as soon as it's dark, and get it over with quickly. It kept on stopping and starting. And it was really really loud in our front bedroom. No 1 baby was very distressed.
  6. I was really struggling to get no one twin off to sleep (teething!) and he had just that SECOND closed his eyes when the bloody things started going off. Was it D College? I'm going to complain. Surely there is some law about loud noise like that after 9.30pm or something?

I don't think it's a problem at all, and in our family we have had childcare/support from our childminder (we started with her in 2003 when child no 1 was a baby!) from my SIL, and from a close family friend who is no 1 child's godmother. I have only ever worked a max of 3 days in the workplace though, even though working at home with children about is a huge challenge (I end up doing the work evenings/weekends TBH) and I like it that child no 1 doesn't have to go to any after school or holiday childcare.. we manage!
  8. We have swimming lessons Friday. Shame, as I'd love to go... keep in touch? x

Also see peanut allergy " "Peanut allergy Peanut allergy seems to be increasing among children, although it is not yet known why. Children from families with a history of allergy are most at risk. If your baby's immediate family has any allergies, asthma or eczema (if they are what is known as 'atopic') the following may help reduce the risk of your baby developing this life-threatening allergy: ?you might want to avoid eating peanuts or peanut products while you are breastfeeding ?wait until your child is at least three years old before you give any peanuts, or foods containing peanuts, peanut (groundnut) oil or peanut butter" So pinenuts will be Ok, I'd say, unless you are particularly worried about nut allergy
  11. I am lucky my partner can go in AFTER the school run and occasionally leave to pick up son no 1, plus my sister in law helps out occasionally, plus I do child swapsies with other mums from school. It's all a lot of juggling, though, esp having baby twins!!!
  12. We've pencilled in a date for a get together on Tuesday 14th July...
  13. I went back to my job despite a long commute, because I have an agreement around flexibility.. so I now work in the office 2 days p/w, and 2 days at home. This minimises the need for paid childcare for the babies (2, ouch!) and means we just about manage without any for son no 1. I can pick him up from school myself 3 days p/w, take him to Kung Fu and swimming etc, take the babies to swimming lessons, participate in the NCT and twins club, have the occasional coffee with someone from the EDF... and just about somehow manage to keep all the balls in the air!
  14. Smiler Wrote:> Try to be nice to your partner day-to-day and > night-to-night. Reckon this is more important than > the "couple time" the books talk about. Yes, saying "Thank you for getting up at 5am!" goes a long way I think! Another tip, to store breastmilk, try these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Axifeed-Breast-Milk-Storage-Bottles-BPA-Free-Starter-Pk_W0QQitemZ250402370157QQihZ015QQcategoryZ66676QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262 Fit direct to your pump, can be sterilised, never split in the freezer... don't leak and you can attach a bottle teat too if you like. Also (don't laugh!) if you;re expressing a lot, and esp if you have a double pump, try one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HANDS-FREE-EASY-EXPRESSION-BRA-BRAND-NEW-Large_W0QQitemZ190314766797QQcmdZViewItemQQptZWomen_s_Clothing?hash=item2c4fa4e1cd&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1683%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

  16. Lol. We have a nipper buggy, one blue baby and one pink baby... most of the twin mum sI know (and yes, there are LOADS) have babies both of the same flavour... I have long purple fingernails is another clue!
  17. I notice a few mums popping up in the threads with this kind of approach... I wondered if we'd like to get together for a meet up or a cuppa some time? No disrespect to the GF types, I count some of my best friends amongst them...but it would be nice to feel so out of place as I sometimes do! Any takers?

Ooh, I tried this just now and it worked, though it didn't stop baby no 2 taking the opportunity to try to crawl off carrying the pooey nappy and rapdily pull all of the wipes out of the wipes pack... usual day around here then!!
