Sometimes our ppstie rings the bell, and only when I answer he goes to the van to get the package.. makes sense
  7. I heard an interview on the radio with a union rep and he was saying management assume 5 doors where the postie has to stop and kncok on the average round, but they say some are nearer 15. With the advent of ebay, i'm guessing the no of parcels they need to deliver is getting bigger and bigger, and takes a lot of time as well as being too heavy to carry. Personally, i'd rather keep the Royal mail and sometimes they leave a card rather than knocking, than lose it altogether and end up with private companies cherrypicking the best bits to offer.
  8. I got a "sorry you were out" card when I was in on Friday. I got talking last year to our regular postman after the strike, he was doing a "mop up" sort of delivery by van, he said there was a huge huge backlog at the depot and casual staff were in a real mess trying to help clear it. He seems very nice, he never puts cards through when I'm in. I get the impression the staff there are a bit hard done by.

  19. I've contacted the Coop national office about the access issues. See what they say...
  20. I would have thtough regardless of CPZ issues, there should be a way of pursuing a company if they are making a nuisance. When I lived in haringey a local garage was selling cars parked on the road, and the council intervened. Suggest you contact your ward councillor?

Even a single buggy wouldn't fit... the aisles are too narrow, and that's not to mention the boxes piled high...

It's a no brainer. That's a good tip. I am giving up on the Coop after my last visit.. i asked the till operator to kepe an eye on my buggy but she wasn't interested.. there were three buggies lined up in the doorway and a huge queue of people. It's abit of a retail hades, that shop!!!
  23. I am fed up at ringing Peckham for info about swimming etc only to have the phone ring out. Called Fusion head office in the end who said they know it's a problem... but they were saying the same thing a whole year ago!

There are lots of antifraud measures shops etc use to monitor their staff and till operation such as cameras.
