  1. Re: Crystal Palace Tavern Posted by: *Bob* September 07, 11:08AM An EDF pub co-operative... Keef can be the pub sign, seeing as he's pretty-much there all the time anyway. Alan can source a piano (no more than ?60 though please, Alan), so that Louisa can have her old-fashioned sing-sings. I can use the piano at night for knocking-out.. er I mean.. carefully crafting my compositions. Mockney can be the official photographer. Madworld can do Reiki healing upstairs so we can save on travelling expenses (though 'the magic' will still be charged at ?50/hour, plus materials) Sean can mediate when a fight breaks out. The Admin can install peepholes in all the eyes of the paintings on the walls. ================================================================================ Can I be the bar maid? :)-D
  2. How do you lot know all this? :-S
  3. England v Russia 2-1 Woohoo am taking clients to the game! >:D< Scotland v France 1-2 Iceland v Northern Ireland 0-2 Slovakia v Wales 1-0 Czech Republic v Rep of Ireland 1-0 On a separate note, went up Donkey Alley on Saturday evening to admire the view of London. Quite cool up there when the Wem-ber-lee arch is lit up.
  4. So it would appear that we have quite a few plane spotter types in ED........
  5. I used to be a chef and find it quite depressing to see the same things on the menu every where you go. There's no imagination anymore.... On the other side of the coin, I took some clients to the Oxo tower a few weeks ago. The waiter recommended I try the Strawberries, with Pimms jelly and cucumber and mint sorbet. I did and boy did I regret it. Keeps things simple I say! As much as I dislike Mr Ramsey, he is quite right in his thinking. People or "chefs" tend to go overboard with a simple dish, there's no need to dress it up and complicate the ingredients.

    Dog Crap

Not at all - my house mate has two dogs and I regularly walk them. Admittedly its hardly pleasant picking up after them, but its something that you just do.
  7. You must mean Le Chardon
  8. Couldn't agree more - its all very generic. Though that said the seafood linguine at Black Cherry is fantastic.
  9. Ha ha - Trust me I wouldn't believe it unless I'd experienced it. When I asked Mr Daly about it he said that the bit he drills is dead, so therefore shouldn't hurt. I've had root canal before with an anesthetic and it was actually more painful than with none. I reckon dentists get drill happy and get a bit carried away ::o

    Dog Crap

You don't see white dog "excrement" (for DM) anymore though do you? Wonder why that is...?
  11. Re: dentist Posted by: TillieTrotter Yesterday, 04:38PM Hi is marvellous. Hadnt been for a few decades and I ended up having root canal treatment with no anaesthetic. Recommend him highly. ========================== Tillie - this made me laugh. I had too had to have a root canal with Mr Daly and when he started drilling with no sight of an injection I was "slighty" concerned to say the least. Anyway he was brilliant and such a lovely fella. Reminds me a little of Benny Hill. :)) I've been to dentists all over the country and can honestly say that he is one of the best I've ever had to see.
  12. Actual results Scotland v Lithuania 3-1 England v Israel 3-0 Latvia v Northern Ireland 1-0 Slovakia v Republic of Ireland 2-2 Wales v Germany 0-2 Thanks Sean McG - was going to tally them all but you've saved me a job. We could start an EDF league?
  13. Scotland v Lithuania 3-1 England v Israel 1-0 (Gerrard to score, if he plays) Latvia v Northern Ireland 0-2 Slovakia v Republic of Ireland 1-2 Wales v Germany 1-4

    Great Gigs

I use Stargreen and See tickets for gigs. Nearly always get what I'm after - it's a shame the same can't be said for tickets to Anfield.... Has anyone on here ever heard of or seen Rodrigo y Gabriela? They're Mexican guitar players and their live gigs are fantastic. Saw them at Scala and the Jazz Cafe last year. Highly recommended!
  20. Tell them to get on a bus with an irate bus driver that goes from the station to the top of Lordship Lane. Plenty of ladies unintentionally lap and pole dancing ;-)
  21. Mixulee - "copied the No 1 team in the entire Fantasy League and it paid instant dividends" ::o Is this not cheating? ;-)

    Great Gigs

Just remembered another one - how could I forget! A mate of mine is neighbours with the remaining members of the Kinks. Every year they play a gig in Tufnell Park and apparently (it has never happened when I've been over the past two years) Ray Davies has been known to turn up for a couple of songs. Anyway, because Simon knows them all so well, we always end up in Broxbourne and go for a curry with them. Most bizarre - particularly when they start talking about the "old days". Rock n Roll! B)
  23. We are top of the league, say we are top of the league :)-D The look on Moaninho's face at the end of the Chelski game (6) was topped only by Ambramovich storming off, to find Doug Ellis offer his hand. Sweet! What a great weekend.
  24. Like the Murphys SimonM's not bitter...... ;-)
  25. Dangermouse!;-)
