Essential shops (other than food) needed in ED
david_carnell replied to chica1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There is a jewellery shop too isn't there? Nina Christie or something similar? Not sure if she does repairs but she has an excellent reputation. There is some comment in the archives on her work if one uses the search tool. So essentially ED needs neither of your suggestions.... Next. -
In their 2007 report the IPCC found that: Most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic (human) greenhouse gas concentrations. Anthropogenic warming and sea level rise would continue for centuries due to the timescales associated with climate processes and feedbacks, even if greenhouse gas concentrations were to be stabilized, although the likely amount of temperature and sea level rise varies greatly depending on the fossil intensity of human activity during the next century The probability that this is caused by natural climatic processes alone is less than 5%. In IPCC statements "most" means greater than 50%, "likely" means at least a 66% likelihood, and "very likely" means at least a 90% likelihood. *My emphasis in bold* The IPCC report summary can be found on here

Hoopers on Ivanhoe Rd should be showing it along with all the other Lions games. Jamie, the landlord, is a big 15-a-side fan.

That's not on earth though. You might have trouble trying to view a black hole too.

Hmmm well I once read about some scientists in Teddington had created the world's blackest black. It is essentially the absence of light and useful for certain scientific processes. As far as I'm aware it does not occur naturally due to the existence of light throughout the natural world. I'm on my iPhone at the mo so can't link or hunt for the source of this but maybe someone else could.

Hmmm.... a few thoughts: 1) I'm worried you have this chap as a reference point in your head. I'd never heard of him before. 2) He appears to be 10. I know I'm younger than the average forumite but steady on.... 3) He has blond hair and blue eyes. There, the resemblance ends. Otherwise I also look like Claudia Schiffer. 4) He does however appear on a "teen idol" website - should I ever wish to pick up jailbait I'll bear this in mind. Good work BBW. Or should that be Barry George?

June EDF Drinks - This Saturday 6th June at The Herne
david_carnell replied to georgia's topic in The Lounge
Except that's this Saturday - hehe - the drinks are a week on Sat, no? -
Well he's not gone... yet. I've got mixed feelings. He scores goals - of that there is no doubt - but I have two reservations. He goes missing in certain games especially if the team isn't playing well. Second, I think he'd struggle in the Championship. He's quick but not much finesse and defenders at that level would be too good for him. Hopefully we get good money for him and use it to bring in two quality players for next year. Keep Blackwell if you can - he's very good - but needs board support.

Gravy Raymond Carver No other word will do. For that's what it was. Gravy. Gravy, these past ten years. Alive, sober, working, loving, and being loved by a good woman. Eleven years ago he was told he had six months to live at the rate he was going. And he was going nowhere but down. So he changed his ways somehow. He quit drinking! And the rest? After that it was all gravy, every minute of it, up to and including when he was told about, well, some things that were breaking down and building up inside his head. "Don't weep for me," he said to his friends. "I'm a lucky man. I've had ten years longer than I or anyone expected. Pure Gravy. And don't forget it."

SimonM - my genuine condolences. And yet another season goes by without a Blades vs The Mighty Whites game. One day my friend.... Best of luck for next season.

It sounds like it might be *Bob*'s handiwork. He loves a bit of euro-trance.

Come on... a moat! A MOAT! Who even has a moat these days?? That is quite cool. *adopts solemn voice" - But of course, not at the expense of the taxpayer.

Oh I love The Shield but am a bit behind you. I'm currently watching Series 4 so no spoilers please. When does Forest Whittaker appear? I can't wait for that.

I think you'll find "rhubarb" is the preferred nomenclature. How very non-u.

Or alternatively: "How many posts do we need on one topic?" 1 5 50 How many before the posters of the EDF are satisfied?

Argh... I've been outed. *hangs head, turns up rugby collar and slopes off*
