It could be Abeno ? The specialise in okonami-yaki (Japanese omelettes) and very, very good they are too. http://www.abeno.co.uk/
  2. Most ED gangs are involved with the lucrative Stinking Bishop smuggling racket. Head down to Goose Green around 11 most nights and they're there, peddling their wares. One of them has a briefcase humidor and openly peddles Cohiba cigars in full view of children, were there any children around to view it. Disgusting.
  3. In France it's the ultimate disrespect to your elders to say words backwards - they can't understand what the 'youth' are saying - known as 'verlan' I'm sure they're debating this right now on some French forum. Actually I bet they aren't.

(which someone seems to have picked a few of - there were a lot more poppies about 2 days ago and I'm sure they flower for a lot longer than that!)
  5. Haha yeah poor people are so funny
  6. The park is max awesome. Good for flying kites and picnics. worst thing about it is the cafe in the middle that attracts kids by the bucketload.
  7. Big knowledge base about London gangs in ED. I'm sure we've all got stories of our wild younger days in Tunbridge Wells, running a Barbour racket out of the back of dad's Audi.
  8. Photo of the leader of the infamous 'Northcross Bloods' shown below to help with identification should you encounter him. (for legal reasons unable to show his face) http://www.testriffic.com/resultfiles/9215preppy.jpg
  9. If only there were some kind of other thread about a recently-opened Italian restaurant in ED somewhere else on the board. Someone should start one!
  10. the original post seems to suggest 'foul language' though. I'm confused.
  11. Sorry guys, can't stop for long. Large multi-national company to run. Meetings to attend. Really important ones. Speak to you soon on the EDF, yeah?
  12. Gregg's brownies are good. I wish ED had a Gregg's
  13. hahaha. Sorry, was trying to um, plug my rubbish DVD site.

From your posts I would suggest you seemingly don't know enough about planning to RANT ABOUT IT ON THE INTERNET IN BLOCK CAPITAL OUTRAGE also, who made you keeper of the public purse anyway? PS It's worth trying annother paper that isn't The Express
  16. When I was out for my morning scream earlier on goodrich road, I did spy a man in a grubby bathrobe peering at me through clenched curtains. Moments later a police van turned up and took me away. Needless to say I am furious.

Have you heard of the Chinese Cultural Revolution? Yeah, let's get rid of old stuff! It's like, old...
  19. The Eagle averages around ?10-15 for mains AND you can go in there and just chug beer all night if you don't feel like eating. =WIN

  21. Obviously somewhere like St John also wins hands-down... but it's in Farringdon. The Palmerston / Franklins are hardly 'destination' eateries, are they? Unlike Arbitus / St John etc

No, I'M a food journalist, etc. ED isn't in danger of getting a michelin starred restaurant anytime soon (as much as it would appease the Waitrose lot) - I think both of these establishments are placed firmly in the 'gastropub' category wheras Arbitus is something different entirely. You're paying more as they're on your doorstep too, surely..?
  23. Health And Safety: [slang 'elf and safety] - When the law is wrongly applied to a dangerous situation, in which no one is allowed to be injured and die unnecessarily.
  24. The Cheese Block are apparently so incensed by this story they have got behind the poor child in question and decided to begin selling materials for everyone to begin marking the pavements in solidarity. Apparently they're changing their name to 'Chalk and Cheese' *gets coat*
  25. gerritsmith Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ah yes, the community officers. > > Have you ever seen one patrolling the streets at > night? > > I suppose, crime and antisocial behaviour don't > occur at night. I think you miss the point of them. In the same way that 'bobbies on the beat' do nothing to quell crime, they just make frightened voters feel like something is being done - so do community officers serve to provide a visible reassurance to people who spend their every waking hour afraid of being a victim of crime. So there's little point in them being out at night when no-one will see them.
