You'll get your bear, it'll be on the back of the 13:29 mins past bus heading for the clockhouse....better get practicing.....

  3. red devil Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > United: Champions League 1999 - 2 goals in a > minute during 3 mins of stoppage time (Bayern > Munich's ribbons had already been tied to the > trophy); Have to agree. I watched that match, and was taunting my Man U supporting mate, by text. When The Baby Faced Assasin scored and sealed the game I realised I'd probably witnesses one of the greatest sporting moments ever. Mind you, Munich hitting the woodwork twice didn't help their cause!

  5. I was running down by Beckenham last Sunday, and saw a kingfisher. First one I've seen in the UK! Guess out of the postcode so doesn't count.

The bear is safe, and if you want to keep him that way you'd better follow my instructions...TO THE LETTER! We'd hate him to have an accident now wouldn't we...

  8. Carrie Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Some of the paintings are as big as 8/9feet and I > have about 25 feet to get back from the painting. > Would a 70mm lens get all that in the frame? The simple answer is yes, assuming you have space to walk back far enough. On the lenses front. Canon also so do lenses called "L" Series. These are the Professional lenses that have a much higher quality of glass in them with much more time taken in creating the lens. Of course, this means they cost more, but in my opinion they are worth the extra money. I'm a pro, I shoot for magazines, and use these on my Canon kit. They are typically 2-4 times the price of the "Consumer" I have a 28-70 zoom for sale i no longer use, and that is for sale if you;re interested. HAVING SAID THAT - From your responses here I think we can gather that photography is something that you are possibly new to and still learning about (Hell, we're ALL still learning) so it may be not a lens issue, but something else. So can I suggest you post a full size sample of your work, telling us what parts you;re not happy with, and we can discuss. Alternatively, buy me a coffee and a cake on the lane and I'm happy to have a chat with you. Eric
  9. Personaly, if I need to get to the M4 in the morning I leave ED at about 6:40am, which allows me time to get to the embankment before the bus lanes open up. From there you're against the flow, and there's no further bus lanes to slow you down. HTH Eric

  11. Hi, I was after tickets, but got an e-mail telling me they are not available until Friday! Must say I get mightily P****d off with "Agencies" having these tickets. They are no better than the pitbulls and weasles selling tickets outside on the night.

Asset - As for reduction in vehicle insurance. Not in my instance. My classic car policy was exactly the same, so out of interest I asked about the "Modern" car that lives in the street. A not so whopping ?80 saving over the year. Piece of mind is worth it though.

  15. The road rally prepared 1294cc Mk1 Mini I co-owned for three years beats everything else hands down. http://www.photograph-er.co.uk/MK1Mini.jpg The picture shows it at the end of Le Jog (Lands End To John O'Groats) 1500miles, over three days, and about 8 hours sleep. I remember thrashing through some forest in scotland, nearside wheel in a ditch dragging me through a corner, as I chased down a Lotus Cortina, with all the rocks banging off the sumpguard and thinking "Life doesn't get much better" When we finally sold it I was gutted. Met my co-owner about a year ago and we both said we wish we'd bought the other one out. Even now I still scour eBay for it. Sold it to someone in Ipswich who bought it and left it in his garden for 8 months without using it, then sold it to a guy from Holland.... If it ever appears I'll have to buy it back... Current fun (When I sort out an MOT) is my Austin A40. Cool car for cruising in....

What's that example mean? Sorry to be dim....
  18. While there may be some cynical comments about KD's project being kicked about, let's not forget we all like to look at photos of the local as it was earlier in the last century, you only have to look at the threads on here to see that. Society, and the fabric of it is changing constantly. It's this sort of "Mundane" documentary photography that will be fascinating to future generations. All power to you KD

  20. Hello David, Were you about to witness this then? http://www.photograph-er.co.uk/road_events/05_12_09_Last_routemaster/index.htm On the matter of signage, I've thought I must try and get some shots of advertising painted onto buildings, as was done before the idea of bill boards emerged. Still lots about if you care to look. E

I'm a Royal Marsden supporter myself, but they all deserve it for their work. I hope your training "Do's" have been going well.... Eric
