  1. Don't you need a "specialist" site for your Louisa photos ?
  2. It could be worth contacting the Victorian Society - they campaign to save Victorian and Edwardian buildings. http://www.victoriansociety.org.uk/about/our-role-in-saving-victorian-and-edwardian-buildings/

    Weller

Wins the award for the most names dropped in one post. When's the book coming out Jah ? As for Weller - as a teenager The Jam were magnificent. As a solo artist wealthy enough to be self indulgent at times. Go to a gig and the biggest cheers are still when he plays Jam songs which says it all.
  4. Barry Davies - genius
  5. Can anyone recommend a Sound Bar for my TV ? Currently it's hooked up to my Teac mini system which has bookshelf speakers and although this is an improvement over the TV's native speaker I'm still left wondering if it could be better still - especially improving the quality of speech in TV drama. I'm not really interested in having a sub woofer and I'd don't want to spend much more than ?150.
  6. Simon Carter do very nice cufflinks and they have a shop in Crystal Palace.

  8. It would make a good location for Carluccio's, though maybe a tad small.
  9. The only tension is people that are middle class pretending not to be.
  10. Is there something wrong with being middle class ?
  11. Sounds a bit too aspirational for me. No wonder Lou was first through the door.
  12. Don't you mean chiropodist rather than a podiatrist ?
  13. Correct KK - from next week no LB to CX trains until August. From TFL: "Between 12 January 2015 and August 2016 Southern (and any permitted route) passengers who currently interchange onto Southeastern services at London Bridge for travel to Charing Cross or Waterloo East will be unable to do so due to changes to the operation of Southeastern services"
  14. East Dulwich Road not Grove. Thames Galleries.
  15. Dawsons Heights, between Dunstans Road and the estate is one of the best.
  16. Last year we wandered around a lot of the Artists Open Houses as part of the Dulwich Festival. The website is still active and for most they have address, websites, contact details etc. Could be a good place to start. http://www.dulwichfestival.co.uk/openhouse
  17. Iain Glenn (recently of Game of Thrones fame) ...
  18. James - if the new health facility is intended to go on the cleared ground then why hasn't it been built yet ? Is it a simple case of the funding isn't in place or is there lot more to it ? (I imagine the latter). As regards preserving the existing buildings for the secondary school, personally I'd be against this. A building that was designed and built in the late 19th century as a hospital could only every function optimally as a school at a greater cost of building something specifically designed for the purpose. However I'm sure that there will be strong views on this subject when designs for the schools are commissioned.
  19. Is anyone able to shed any light on what will happen to the existing Hospital buildings ? Does the proposed new health facility replace the existing hospital functions ? From the outside at least it appears that large amounts of the existing building aren't in use.
  20. Spotted this recently. May well be of interest to those looking for somewhere for guests to stay. http://www.tulsehillhotel.com/
  21. Are you sure about this ? Last year Southwark agreed to building of Portakabin on the Dulwich Sports Ground in Turney Road to house a Nursery and a Sport Club. Dulwich Sports Ground is MOL. The meeting was on 23/7/13 if you want to check.
  22. I beg to differ I'm afraid. I never claimed that JB was my councillor however I do live in East Dulwich and I do live within a few hundred metres of the site. As I said I?m not trying to censure anyone but I do object to people trying to influence outcomes of something that doesn?t affect them. In a kind of odd way it?s bit like the West Lothian Question.
  23. Including people from Penge ?
  24. Of course it's your right and I'm not trying to censure anyone. When this forum was first set up I suspect the make up of it's participants was largely local to East Dulwich but we all know that the its reach is far further now. When it comes to decisions about East Dulwich then I would prefer that only those directly affected took part. I would also prefer the a local councillor to spend his time responding to people from his ward rather than those who he doesn't represent.
  25. Otta - with the greatest of respect, given that you don't live in East Dulwich is this really your concern ?
