The increasing use of the word Riff, outside of a musical context.

Well in that case it might be easier to create a screenshot on your iPhone and email the PDF to yourself. https://support.apple.com/en-ie/guide/iphone/iphc872c0115/ios#:~:text=On%20an%20iPhone%20with%20Face,Home%20button%20and%20side%20button.

Um. So without a printer how had you expected to print them ?

If you have access to a PC/Mac then you can access your WhatsApp messages via WhatApps Web. https://web.whatsapp.com/ Then you could just print the screen or copy and paste to Word (or similiar) and print from there.

Well I for one hope it holds up for the next couple of years because I recently signed up for the 5G service to replace my Virgin Media broadband. So far, so good. Excellent signal strength and around 250GB download speed for £20 a month (£10 for the first 6).

Any trains today before 8:38 anyone know?

So from the Dec 21 document it looked like there was a budget shortfall, even based on the lowest tender, that requires more money from the DfE. Hopefully this has been resolved and they're going to crack on soon.

Has this project run out of money ? It's looking like it'll never be finished and a bit like before when one of the wings was demolished and the rubble left to create a wasteland for years, this'll go the same way and the building will become more and more dilapidated. Shame as the outside space would be useful for the school but it's not looking like they'll get their hands on it anytime soon.

The environment agency produce a monthly report that very comprehensive on water levels across the country. TLDR- we were still pretty short as at the end of September. Might be better next month. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1111117/Water_Situation_Report_for_England_September_2022.pdf

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
ed_pete replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
James - another accident on EDG this afternoon. Not sure what happened exactly but walked past a car (BMW ?) that was opposite JAGS heading towards the junction with Red Post Hill, completely upside down on its roof. Looks like it hit a tree a speed as a nearby tree was looking quite damaged. Police in attendance and no other vehicles that I could see involved. East Dulwich Grove is becoming increasingly dangerous - this is two serious incidents in the space of 6 weeks, What action are councillors taking ? -
What's the most niche form of exercise you've witnessed in our local parks ? I saw two guys practising fencing in Brockwell yesterday.

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
ed_pete replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
James - there was a serious car crash on East Dulwich Grove on Sunday (28th) morning, so serious that it required the fire service cut open one of the vehicles to remove the driver and the to road to be closed for several hours. In addition to the two cars involved I saw damage to two others that were parked nearby. I've no idea of the cause but I live fairly close by and I did hear a loud bang so imagine speed was involved. One of the cars ended up on the pavement which could have seriously injured or worse any pedestrians that had been there at the time. As a person that frequently cycles and walks along this road I am often concerned about the speed that a small minority of car drivers travel, in spite of the raised platforms that are present. Are you aware of any plans to look at schemes to force traffic to travel more slowly and/or penalise those that don't ? -
Not yet but I'm guessing that based on his review and the high proportion of Guardian readers in the area getting a table might start to prove a little tricky.

Thanks, no I'm not using a broker.. Perhaps I should. I normally just use the price comparison sites and direct line.

OK I know this comes up repeatedly but just had my Buildings (only, not contents) Insurance Renewal through and I have max no claims discount and yet it's increased by 30%. Meerkat is giving me about three slightly cheaper options. Any obvious reason for the premium increases which I assume are general in nature and not specific to me ? I'm with Aviva.

Maybe less so in shops but bear in mind that the some of the older generation will feel excluded from a cashless society. Pete Paphides wrote a thread on Twitter this week about how his father was unable to pay to park his car because the parking meter required you to pay via an App. His father was on his way to a memorial service and couldn't pay. He sadly died shortly after and PP has been left with explaining to the debt collection agency that the person they fined won't be paying.

Southwark recycling centre (tip) - Devon street
ed_pete replied to ed_pete's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
In my experience, pre-covid, unless you turned up when it opened there were never that many cars there that you had to wait any length of time, including weekends. Went today and just drove straight into a slot. They just wanted to look at a proof of address. Open daily from 8:30 but 8:30 to 9:30 is supposed to be van's only but the guy said that they wouldn't turn you away. -
Southwark recycling centre (tip) - Devon street

It looks like Southwark have dropped the pre-booking process for going to the Devon Street recycling centre. It seems that now you only have to pre-book if you have a van. Anyone been recently that can confirm this ? https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/recycling/recycling-centres/reuse-and-recycling-centre -
Just a suggestion but perhaps the posters on this thread should start thinking what you'll do with your time once this thread is no more as the EDF is gracefully laid to rest. /forum/read.php?12,2274784

Croxted Road garden centre usually has a good selection of tomato plants at this time of year.
