I can't see Charter staging something like this, mainly because the budget wouldn't stretch to several thousand pounds worth of fireworks - banging kind or not. I don't think the general voice of dissent is against the fireworks per se, just that they were on a Sunday, late, and with no warning to the residents in the immediate vicinity, good manners and consideration not coming into it. It doens't need to turn into an argument about class etc and a personal slanging match between the haves and the have nots. DV1 and Townley Green seem defensive, obviously as they have a vested interest, those of us that feel any negative thoughts about it are instantly branded as moaning sour grapers. I expect a devil's advocate would find it a fairly easy job.
