    mozilla firefox

Thanks chaps, I've downloaded version 3. I'm not sure if it is that's the problem. For example as I'm tyoing this the text is coming out really slowly sometimes and other times it's normal speed. It's like there's something running in the background slowing everything down. Also my screensaver keeps crashing and the computer won't shut down, I have to switch it off manually. aaagh
  2. Does anyone else use this? Has anyone else been upgraded to version 2.0.0.15? Is anyone else's comuter playing up since then? Is it just a coincidence and my computer is on the way out?
  3. sorry to veer of topic again but in reply to Natasha: As someone who is new to the forum I'm not sure how you can assert that my memory is incorrect 'again'. However in the thread regarding banned forumites you comment as if you have been speaking to Spangles and I quote "She believes it is because she called Sean McGabbhan's postings 'insipid'." and "She says she received no warnings about her 'behaviour'." and lastly, "I have it on good authority that she is". All quotes sound very much like you have been in contact with said person. Also the tone of your last comment to me sounds very much like something she would have said so I'm with Keef and think that you are in fact Spangles. Over to you.

    AAAGH!

I had a call from my credit card fraud section today asking if the ?50 transaction to Vodaphone this afternoon was anything to do with me. It wasn't and I thought that was pretty on the ball of them to spot it. Turns out the perps had tested the card with a transaction for a penny first which alerted the bank. AAAAAnyway, sorry to hear that MP, where is Benin? What I wonder is how do the buggers get the details? They must have your PIN also MP if they are withdrawing cash.
  5. I'd rather hear birds than planes

You say this like you know nothing of her but in the 'about this forum' section on the thread regarding banned forumites you claim she is a friend of yours if memory serves correctly. Must just pop over and look.

    Wimbledon 2008

who cares, he can play some great tennis and could win Wimbleydon someday. Nadal's not exactly a cheery chappie either, I've never seen him crack a smile.
  8. Wasn't one of the recent knife attacks in Sidcup? The boy who was in Harry Potter.
  9. there you go, it's the weegies! Surprising that Amsterdam is higher than london. However Lousia reckons London is head and shoulders above every other city in the world so those stats must be wrong David.
  10. As your post seems directed at mine, I will ask where are you getting your statistics from Lousia? As someone else pointed out it is 'per capita' statistics that matter not just the numbers. I can't find the article in which Edinburgh came top for stabbings - per capita - but having spent a lot of time in both cities I would be more worried for my son to walk around the centre of there than the centre of London late at night.
  11. I come from Edinburgh and although it is seen as a nice twee city, it has extremely high levels of random violence and I believe it topped the charts a year or so ago as having the highest per capita stabbings of anywhere in the UK, i.e. more than London.
  12. Can I just point out to all you folk wanting to whisk your kids away from London, that the minute they turn 18 they'll prob hotfoot it back here and you won't be around to keep an eye. I've been through the agonising over whether to bring my kids up here or move back to the windy city, but on balance, in London trouble can be avoided whereas other places it comes looking for you.

    Dr Who

I don't wish to piss on anyones chips but David Tennant just does not do it for me. He's far too manic and over excited. Dr Who should be cool, calm and collected.
  15. Just watched Jay-Z. He rocked the crowd.
  16. It's not just the cost of the ingredients, there is the time and energy involved in making the cake and the fact that you are not making it yourself. It always amazes me when people expect to receive a product or service, that obviously takes time and skill, for nothing. ?25 sounds reasonable to me and if it's too much then make it yourself.
  17. you lot watch too much TV
  18. Now come on CWALD, don't get bogged down in the sweeping generalisations. Generalisations are not necesarily rascist, just irritating, and there is a lot of useful stuff sold on LL just as there is a lot of useless crap sold on PR, like everywhere. Louisa was the only person who referred to 'e-coli ridden food' and we have to take everything she says with a bucket of salt.

chris heaton's a bit dishy, watch out for him next year! And C'mon Andy.
  20. depends what end of Barry, you could get a 176 or 40 from LL too. It will take about 40 mins.
  21. I've left keys in the front door a couple of times and mobile phone on seat of car overnight with no problem (makes me sound a bit scatty but I'm not)
  22. My son goes to a good state school that has an 'outstanding' ofsted report. It has an extremely varied mix of kids from all sorts of backgrounds - economic and cultural. This shows that it is not a case of only well-off so-called 'middle-class' pupils that make a good school and sort of negates the point you are making Jamma as it sounds like you are implying that 'good' schools are only made up of kids from one echelon of society. Now if I live in the catchment area for GG and the one he is at (which I think I do) - which one am I going to choose? Does that make me selfish and naive and narrow minded or does it just make me a) lucky I have that choice and b) doing what is best for my child.
  23. makes a difference to the insurance company!
  24. maybe that's just the final stage of forumitis. I feel somewhat disillusioned and depressed by the griping and blinkered views and argy bargy that goes on. But then sometimes you do still get a good old laugh and it is a fantastic resource if you can get through the postcode envy and class wars.
  25. Mr Asset says I'm a nutter magnet (the irony!) so no, you are evidently not alone.
