  1. it may be undergraduate Rosie, but boys of any age just can't help lovin' it....
  2. metric is being taught in schools: centimetres and metres as measurement; kilos and grammes for weights, celsius for temp, (have you seen the BBC weather giving the equivalent fahrenheit in the last few years?). For some bizarre reason we still have distance measured in miles but not for much longer I'm sure. I don't really care which one is used as it is all relative (ha ha). Consistency is the thang.
  3. Orange initially wanted to charge me ?20 but after going through to 'customer relations' and moaning about being a long-term loyal customer blah blah blah have managed to get it done for for nowt.....
  4. I think it's the use of 'blacks' rather than 'black people' that is not entirely on.
  5. I confronted two teenage girls with a staffie/pit type of dog in the park recently by asking them if they would like a plastic bag to clear their dog's mess up. It had just left a steaming turd not far from where we were picnicing with assorted kids. They took it and cleared up, who knows, maybe they'll think about it next time.
  6. Shaolin - just because you move north of the river you can still look at the forum and see what you're missing. Trees mostly unless you're moving to Hampstead.
  7. Yes, I've looked at all the unlocking sites. The 6300 is a bb5 phone which is extra super duper locked and can't be done by putting in a code. I just wondered if anyone had managed it recently. Looks like I'll have to phone Orange and ask them to do it, they'll want to charge me but I'm going to argue!
  8. Anyone managed to unlock a Nokia 6300? I have been trawling the internet and it seems that this model is extra tight and cannot be done remotely. The only way is to get the provider to do it at a cost but all the info I have got seems over 6 months old. I wondered if anyone has managed it recently as this is a popular model of phone.
  9. I bet Ted has been to all the drinks and sits in the corner making notes

    Chilli plant

Some of the chilli plants that garden centres sell are ornamental. Make sure they are edible before you buy!

  12. Ooooh, I've just seen this thread. Thanks very much chaps. xx S'pose I have to get a bleedin job now!
  13. There is a visa agency called Traffic Control that I know of (may be the same one Loz) can't remember where they are based.
  14. The thing that annoys me is I have to hold onto myself every time I sneeze.
  15. Exactly, exactly. I doubt he feels particularly good about himself and must feel pretty hopeless, hence the alcoholism. ?500 a week doesn't go far if you've got that many kids either. It's easy to judge and I didn't see the programme and the situation sounds horrendous but who are we to say the kids would be better in care?
  16. Asset Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 2000 yrs ago the world was a slightly different place "2000 years ago Leviticus was already 1300 odd years old" Shows how much I know about biblical matters then. That'll be old testament or summing?
  17. Personally I think it is a tad worrying that people agree with it in this day and age. 2000 yrs ago the world was a slightly different place Peckhamgatecrasher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > homosexuality is an abomination according to > Leviticus 18:22 > > Can't wait to see you go for Leviticus 18:23 > Giggirl. > > The answer is surely that as an observant orthodox > Jew, Dr Laura would agree with all the above. 18. Fucking fantastic! I await the reply......
  19. I'm up for a picnic in the park with attendant brats. Early August best for me.
  20. yeah well, 3 pugs and no kids = central london. 3 kids and no pugs = ED
  21. I don't think that a military style treatment would work for all. What about kids who are bad due to low self esteem? More sensitive kids could end up feeling worse about themselves after a boot camp experience. Gawd knows how to engender more respect and consideration for others in people. It's a vicious cycle of learned bahaviour, kids that are treated with no respect grow up to be people who have no respect and so on. I don't think the lack of corporal punishment has any particular bearing on things, I don't agree with it myself. I think the practice of bringing young offenders into contact with victims and attempting to give them some sort of realisation of the impact of their behaviour along with community service is a better method than beating it into them.
  22. I had also heard that the parakeets were impacting negatively on other birds but I had a conversation with an RSPB chap in the park recently and he said there were no problems with them. Agree their squawk is not attractive but I do like seeing them flying about
  23. venturing north of the river to a party so not coming tonight. have fun.
  24. Aaah, that sounds a fun family. Sorry about Snow White and Doc and I'm not very poetic so can't help really but I bet there will be people sharpening their wit right now.
