Pediatric orthotics - any recommendations
hellosailor replied to devsdev's topic in The Family Room Discussion
It only took about a month on a waiting list very recently when my son was referred to paediatric orthotics at Evelina, and I should think they would prioritise your daughter. It was Norman Taylor he saw. We were referred through our GP. -
maybe just ask him? He's going to be able to tell you more than anyone on here I should think?

Thank you so much for everyone who replied, sorry my inbox became full when I was on holiday. The next London donations drop is in Dalston on Sunday 6th September. My friend and I are planning to take everyone's donations there. We've had about 60 responses now and they're still coming which is amazing, but it does mean that it isn't feasible for me to arrange separate drop offs at my house with everyone individually, so sorry about that. Can I ask that drop offs are made to my house which is 147 Upland Rd SE22 0DF either this Saturday 29th between 9:00am - 12:00 noon or Saturday 5th between 9:00am - 12:00 noon? Then we will take them to Dalston, hiring a van if necessary depending on how much is dropped off, on Sunday 6th. The donations will then be distributed in the refugee camp by the charity. Please remember that EDAus who contributed to this thread has been in contact with the charity in the last week and they said they have been overwhelmed with women's and children's clothes and are not currently taking donations of those. SO CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING KIDS OR WOMEN'S CLOTHES, BUT STILL VERY MUCH NEED BOYS AGED 13+ UPWARDS TO MEN'S plus the other items listed below. They're still desperately seeking: Boys13+ & men's winter shoes anc clothes (leather trainers, warm clothes, warm waterproof coats. Sleeping bags, tents and blankets Toys and games, Craft stuff Balls Kites Books including phonic books Food (tinned and dry goods no pork) Hygiene products & sanitary wear Thank you, Gracie xx

Hello all, I'm back from hols and just realised that my inbox was full so I couldn't get messages, so sorry. EDAus that's brilliant you clarified what they don't need and what they really do need. While I was away a good friend of mine was in contact with the charity on our behalf and has agreed to be the drop off point for South East London, she's in Forest Hill. I'm going to message her now and find out how she'd like to co-ordinate getting people's donations and will post back on here shortly x

Fantastic, thank you lovely forum! I'm going away tomorrow for a week but we're in touch with the charity and it looks like it may be better to make our delivery to them in Brighton rather than try to do it ourselves in Calais, just waiting for confirmation on that. I will be in touch with you all as soon as I'm back to organise receiving your donations, thank you!

****UPDATED MORNING OF SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER ***** Hello all, can I just ask, if you're kindly dropping stuff off today, to please check the original thread or the Calaid website to ensure that your items are still on the list of what the charity is accepting as they WON'T accept donations of stuff that isn't on the list anymore such as women's clothes, kids clothes, pillows, etc. Thank you and see some of you this morning! Am thinking of taking a visiting relative to a pub quiz tonight, haven't done quiz in either pub for a very long time. He's prob prefer a quiz that was a bit challenging, ie we don't really want to do a quiz where all the questions are about Rihanna and Big Brother, anyone been to either quiz recently and found it decent? Xx

Just bumping this, really hope you get it back. Any point going to Lyndhurst Grove and knocking on a few doors to see if anyone knows the family? -

Getting to Charter by 37 bus
hellosailor replied to Derwent Groover's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I lived on East Dulwich Grove for years and was always stunned to see teenagers waiting for 15 mins for the 37 from outside Pizza Gogo or even, incredibly, from the stop by Alleyn's to go to Charter? a few hundred metres away?from the Townley Rd junction it must be 4 minutes on foot max. -
Goodbye friend and foe, it's been a long journey
hellosailor replied to Louisa's topic in The Lounge
Agreed, it wasn't the aggression that bothered me, it was just the fact it was like listening to a very dull broken record, I've never know if she is a troll or serious but either way she was tedious. -
People have started to do this here now I believe..the idea is to invite all your family and friends over to find out with you?it was in the papers recently cos someone got the wrong filling due to a mix up at the bakery! Whole thing sounds like a recipe for disaster (excuse the pun.)
