A couple of Saturdays ago, I almost got wiped out by a white Uber cab as I was crossing Forest Hill Road to Brenchley Gardens, the Uber came out of no where from Brenchley, it was inches away from hitting me, how it missed I have no idea, one life lost.

i) Post Office not taking big parcels at present, Forest Hill Road and Nunhead ii) ED Post Office being totally unhelpful and trying to get people to use Parcelforce in stead at their eye watering prices to Europe iii) Apparent withdrawal of 2nd Class parcel postage to Europe iv) Attempting to charge silly prices to send a small parcel to Europe V) Not being permitted to send a box of chocolates to Europe, damn Brexit

Isn't it the parents choice to send their children to private schools? And if they decide to make that choice as they do not wish their children to be state educated, then their is a price to pay. Now that the VAT increase will take place they have a choice, either pay the VAT or move the child(ren) to state school.

Got to say the experience at the Borough High Street branch exceeded all expectations 3++, they could not have been more pleasant, kind or helpful, a really +VE experience,
-
Had to go to bank today to find the branch was closed due to "technical difficulties", blinds pulled down and only minimal engagement with customers when they opened the doors to allow staff to leave. The sign on the door stated the nearest branch was Borough High Street, so had to trapes over there. Couldn't have been a more pleasant experience in that branch, they were so helpful. Don't know if the issue at the Rye Lane branch is or will be sorted, can't recommend the Borough High Street staff enough.

No excuse to reduce the rate from £13.15 to £11.55, if that is the case then they have gone on strike to protest about this reduction. It appears for those on minimum wage, part two jobs equate to one full time job, not fair but that's where we are now, how that changes, I really don't know. At least The Guardian and on here gets them some publicity about their situation, which has to be a good thing.

Unfortunately, it seems some of the resident population don't want to do some of the jobs Iwork) which is required to keep businesses and institutions operational, and that includes cleaning services. So which ever way you look at it, UK PLC requires people to do those jobs, from whichever part of the globe they may happen to come from. These people may well have other skills and attributes to do other other roles now or in the future, whatever those may be.

Oh, such first world problems, if you're disgruntled about "over crowding" as someone has already said, go discuss it with the management or whoever is on duty. Venting here is highly unlikley to make any difference, unless you're trying to see if others have a similar experience to you -

Never used either, don't particularly care or are bothered that they are both closing, something else will come along, bit like buses, wait ages and three come at once. -

Businesses come and go, that's the modern world of business these days, hopefully both units will not sit empty, will be a waste if they do. What LL could benefit from is another bakery, not like Gail's. -
Can I suggest again you go and talk to them and discuss your dis-pleasure at how they are trying to protect their produce from the strong sun, and wait for their reaction, when they'll probably politely suggest you do one. But in the mean time how about letting a business trade, as this is only going to be a temporary measure during these exceedingly hot periods. Take an ice bath and chill down.

People wanted change and that's what happened, a Govt with such a vast majority they can do pretty much what they want with no opposition, Starmer, Rayner and Reeves have only just begun. Wait till 30 October when the real tax rises and pain ahead are announced, austerity 2.01 kicks in and our pockets are well and truly fleeced, then spend and don't save will begin, inflation will rise and people may finally realise that "be careful what you wish for" has happened, the chickens have come home to roost. It's too late then to change anything and we're going to endure 5 more years of pain. Or put another way "do as I say, not as I do", bet Starmer, Rayner and Reeves won't be going without anything, and will be living the good life, true champagne socialism. Will things improve in five years time, almost guaranteed NOT.
