  1. "The price of stamps will rise again on 2 April - the fourth increase in two years for the cost of sending a letter first class. Royal Mail said the price of a first-class stamp would rise by 10p to £1.35 and second-class stamps would increase by 10p to 85p"
  2. Another to consider is if when you purchased them, the chicken was kept in a sealed plastic bag as that will definitely contribute to them going of. I always wrap meat lightly in greaseproof paper and store it at the bottom of the fridge. Just an idea. Hope you are feeling better.
  3. Totally shocked to learn of the death of Dave Myers, only 66,
  4. And the daily standing charge for electricity to RISE by 65%, an absolute outrage, to pay for the non payers and defaulters, absolute disgrace that Ofgem has done this and the news was only broken by Martin Lewis yesterday. Scrap Ofgem, thought they were supposed to be on the side of the consumer but the last 2 1/2 years has proved that is anything but the case. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
  5. Sue, I totally sympathise with you and appreciate the inconvenience even more so on Christmas Eve, when I guess the store was heaving with people all wanting to get their various bits. What made it worse for you was that you had to go back to the aisle to take a photo to prove what you had told him. What I don't understand is why they won't acknowledge your complain and now want you to complain about your unanswered complaint. Next time you go in ask to speak to the duty manager and inform the person to and see what explanation they have, if any.
  6. The clue is the till receipt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I am sorry that they treated you as they did given your ill health.
  7. Alright, alright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now the store reorganisation is complete and things are bedding down, the staff there are very trying, what I mean they do try their best to assist. And let's be grateful that all the new self service tills work well compared to the old one's. Yes sometimes they are not open but as someone else said it's not the end of the world. It is unfortunate that the number of tills with a person working them has been cut back so much. I'll miss that during the summer, but generally use self service as it tends to be quicker.
  8. Perhaps batching together by author, fiction, non fiction, cookery, etc And have another attempt at contacting the British Heart Foundation. You may also wish to try contacting the community library at Forest Hill, Grove Park, Corbett (on Sandhurst Road SE6) and Manor House, all of which I believe are community libraries, perhaps some of the local secondary schools, who I guess may still have libraries themselves and they may accept your books with open arms, hopefully. It would be such a waste if they went in a skip.
  9. If you open the phone, can you take a note of the battery's number and then google it to see if you can buy on line.
  10. Whom at Southwark Council is responsible for this atrocity? How was this ever allowed to happen? What happened to consultation and asking the people what they wanted? And who proposed, voted and agreed this? And why do the residents have to pay for this utter and total shambles of work, it's disgraceful and shameful. The clue is in the name, NUNHEAD GREEN.
  11. well I've had mine dry cleaned
  12. Local dry cleaners may be able to help as well.
  13. Question. how does it "force kids to change schools"? And why don't you change the title of this thread to the title of Your petition, which surprisingly is doing very well to "Stop Labour from adding 20% VAT to private school fees and forcing kids to change schools".?
  14. Is their a solicitor out there on the EDF who can advise you on where you stand. Contacts once agreed are legally binding, and get out clauses can be costly. Take a look at the sale of Goods Act (may include services) which is what BT are providing Then take a look at these links https://hallellis.co.uk/contract-law-basics-formation/ https://www.contractworks.com/blog/4-types-of-breach-of-contract-you-need-to-be-aware-of Had a problem with my Broadband supplier increasing prices mid contract, they started to sit up and listen when quoted Contract Law back with specifics. I dealt direct with their Director of Telecoms and didn't bother with the minions in the office. Do a search of their Management/Director structure, then check Linkedin and communicate with the person direct, it's a ball breaker but well worth doing. And don't be fobbed off.
  15. It's all about how you've been brought up that matters, some with the spoon in the mouth have no common sense or understanding of reality, they copy what they see on tv reality shows, say no more............................... Could say so much more, but admin may ban me.......................................................
  16. My builder said that he had one, this was about five years ago, it went wrong, said it cost him an arm and a leg to have it repaired......
  17. See other posts about Kia cars being stolen from residents driveways in both SE22 and SE23.
  18. Exactly, hit the nail bang on the head
  19. Can I suggest that you actually explain what the petition is about rather than being well sloppy and putting an unclear description in the heading, no explanation and a link that you expect people to open and read through.
  20. Can we ALL just try to be nice to each other.
  21. If you haven't already approach your local councillors to see what their view is on the development and see if they can get any informal insight from the planning officers in terms on how the application is viewed. Why not in addition to quoting the application number, state what the application is for, as is written on the council website, its a simple cut and past job, IMO you're not helping yourself. And NO, I'm not going to read through the current 44 documents pertaining to the application. Suggest you state what the application is for and summarise what has happened so far to gain momentum and support. ps. you need to do likewise with the title of the petition.
  22. may I suggest you either put a much clearer explanation about what you are Actually objecting to, i.e. what the development is that you are worried about and a link to the planning application. You may know but you need to state what it is. The clearer it is the quicker and easier it is for people to appreciate what the actually development, people don't have time to play through avid, then search an application
  23. Had the same at Forest Hill Delivery Office.
  24. Lots of delivery offices have changed opening times from 08.00 - 10.00 M - F and 08.00 - 12.00 Sat, closed Sun.
