"This is absolute rubbish." - No, it is not. Look at the amount of car thefts over recent months, parcel theft, phone theft at Honor Oak Park Station and most recently a week ago at the junc of Brenchley Grds and Forest Hill Road. The shooting a few Sundays ago in Sydenham, we're riddled with crime and as much as you may wish to deny it and think the Police are superb, where are they when you want them. On our road a guy was going door to door trying to open front doors, wearing a balaclava when the police were called they would not attend, even for a woman on her own, so what does that say???

Parcels being stolen from outside front doors in SE22

Oh come on, DELUDED, really? And spreading false information, now that is out of order, perhaps you want to retract your comments, because I am neither deluded nor have I ever spread false information as you have said publicly about me. Looking forward to reading your apology and retraction. -
Can I suggest offering it for free on Gumtree.

Parcels being stolen from outside front doors in SE22

They know they can get away with it, no deterrent exists to stop them, no police, no justice system capable of dealing with them. London is becoming lawless just look at the epidemic that is knife and gun crime, almost every week, only recently it was in Sydenham, its everywhere. I don't even feel safe anymore, constantly checking who is around me, keeping a distance from unwanted hands. -

Sorry to hear that Rockets, that's a scummy thing to have dome to you. Sue - that cannot have been a pleasant experience for the thief opening that parcel. Perhaps they'll think twice before nicking other peoples parcels. The police are non existent and don't seem to care, London is becoming lawless. They keep on pushing up council tax or at least the Mayor does on his bit, saying its for the Police, but things don't get better. London experiences high levels of fatal stabbings and shootings., its terrible. I try to do everything I can to avoid all parcel deliveries, preferring to collect myself. Unfortunately some "businesses" especially this year are doing more and more by parcel delivery with no click and collect available. -

Some people elsewhere are filling old Amazon boxes with rubbish or worse, taping them up and leaving them on their doorsteps to be taken 🤣 Well that's made my day Sue. -

I'm a patient. Over the past 9 years I have had to have more "engagement" with the Practice and believe things have significantly deteriorated. Have you attempted to get an appointment with them? They send patients to the Tessa Jowell Centre as "an overspill", why is is? Why can they not see patients at the practice? Why are patients required to submit photo's so they can be diagnosed. I thought the purpose of GP's was to SEE their patients, diagnose, treat and refer them if and as required to hospital. Or am I incorrect?? The practice does has some excellent staff, but the reviews show the constraints they obviously have to operate under. The agenda they have prepared has some very interesting and topical items that are up for discussion, so a prime opportunity to ask them some searching and difficult questions they'd probably rather not be asked. Time for some scrutiny to be applied. The practice is supposed to provide a broad range of medical services for its patients, personally I do not feel this has been or is the case. Have a read of the practices online reviews, to say the least, they make painful reading. As an example. years ago, the doctor who had a surgery further up Forest Hill Road till he retired and FHRGP took over a lot of the patients from there, the doctor offered a walk in morning and afternoon surgery and did home visits in the evening. Why can FHRGP not operate something similar? They have a huge building, from what I have seen, the space is inadequately used with vast amounts sitting empty, such a waste. Other local practices, I'm sure would love to be located in such a vast building. I'd like to see much more patient involvement in how the practice operates and delivers its services to us the patients.

To answer the original question, YES, Reeves has become the new Liz Truss. Now don't get me wrong, Truss was as mad as a hatter, but Reeves, she steals the biscuit. In the next couple of years, and that's if she survives that long, you'll see just how much damage her, Rayner and Starmer have done to this country. Three million other people also think this Govt is pants and want rid. And yes, Kemi did batter Starmer, so much so he was clinching his butt cheeks cause ne knew he'd been found out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkPqybdOhMA

Hello Everyone, Are you are a patient at FHRGP? I have copied the following information from their website about the next Patient Participation Group meeting to be held at 6.30pm, on Thursday 23rd January 2025. This is an opportunity to come along, listen to what they have to say as per the Agenda, and perhaps ask some pertinent and searching questions about any concerns you may have regarding the agenda items, or any other matters regarding the Practice and the impact and consequences it has on us, the patients. Patient Participation Group (PPG) Next Meeting: 6:30pm Thursday 23rd January 2025 Dr Ganesh will continue to share with us the realities of general practice. The agenda will include: The FHRGP Website Allocation of appointments Accessing non-urgent care A named GP Staff name badges Face to face appointments Older patients and apps The long term plan A patients’ questionnaire All patients are warmly invited to share in this opportunity Time will be given for patients’ issues including topics for PPG discussion in 2025 Please, put the date and time in your diary and come along. Change only happens, when the people (us, the patients) make our voices heard about any concerns we may have, to those who can affect change, and improve how things are run to benefit the patients. "Things can only get better"

Not about banging saucepans or clapping them. They do great work, but an 8.3% in 5 months. What happened to reality. And Starmer got a total battering at PMQ's today, was well worth watching seeing Kemi lay it on him and watching him squirm.

Well done to the person who recovered the phone and posting it up on here and the other forum. Good on you Sir for doing so. -
And public sector get another 2.8% increase on top of the 5.5% increase in July, just make the country bust why don't you. Jackasses Starmer and Reeves.

Anyone else got a problem with UPS deliveries?
jazzer replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Mine was to do with them changing delivery depots from Croydon to Dartford, couldn't work that one out. Re: DPD, mysteriously the booking price increases compared to their original quote, found it cheaper and just as quick with Parcelforce. -

Yep, had a similar problem with a return package from EU being delivered, after many phone calls and eventually speaking to the depot, I got it sorted. shan't ever use them again after the experience. -
Traffic around Forest hill and Honor oak
jazzer replied to mattoutofhell's topic in Roads & Transport
The issue is in the vicinity of/under the bridge as the road dips from the junction of London Rd, Dartmouth Rd and Devonshire Rd. I got stuck on the way back on a bus from Bell Green. There were no issues then outside Sainsburys, but with the over night dips in temperatures anything is possible to cause more bursts. As someone else said, avoid at all costs. Try over the top of Sydenham Hill and down Kirkdale, or along Sydenham Hill and Down Wells Park rd as cut throughs. -
According to TfL no issues exist on the no. 40, ditto no. 12 https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/buses/ 8mins is not an unreasonable waiting time, if you want to point a figure, do so in the direction of Sadiq khan, Mayor of London, we do not need nor want one.
