I think this is a great idea, placing all the discussions regarding LTN's, CPZ's etc, i.e. "Roads and Transport" in one place, rather than being spread out across multiple threads. I found trying to follow these all really difficult and time consuming, especially as some were turning into long whiny monologues. I also think that this may allow and encourage other local issues which may well be bubbling under the surface to be raised and discussed. Small changes can make a huge difference. And just to clarify, it was my suggestion, so you can direct all your anxed and vexatiousness to me. -
Can someone translate into what he actually means "Cllr McAsh acknowledges change of CPZ approach and says it’s required as a matter of justice - non car owners should not subsidise use of public space by car owners etc."

A total lack of cycling helmets is another worry, unfortunately not only is someone on a bike going to come a real cropper, but so is a pedestrian. Only a matter of time, if the NHS is not already busy enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The crawl from Camberwell to Vauxhall which ever bus route you use is also a mare, after about 6.30am
-
Been into town today, too many pinch points, too many traffic lights set to allow two buses through before changing back to red. Going from the Elephant up to Farringdon Road, an absolute mare of a journey, but this is what Khan has done with the imposition of cycle lanes. I can understand why people prefer to WFH. Forty plus years ago, used to do Forest Hill Road to Kings Cross, oh those were the days when traffic actually flowed.

Let's see what happens and if Lime take note. The Council have given due notice and those disguarded bikes and scooters will be removed awaiting collection and settlement of due fee's to be paid. It's a shame Lewisham don't do the same.
-
Lots of Lime's carelessly left in front of the Church on Blenheim Grove, lunchtime today, the P13 was stranded whilst a huge lorry with a crane off loaded its delivery and the bikes further caused a obstruction.

Is that music the Gala festival already?

All depends where you may want to move too. Even moving to the NE is now expensive, so No I'm not ignoring your point, but rather highlighting that prices have significantly risen here from what they were 30 - 40 years ago, NO we ain't cash rich.
-
And your point is, oh you don't have one. Why do you expect people who have lived their lives here to move and become cash rich as a result. What you clearly seem to miss/ignore is that house prices outside London are just as expensive, unless you decide to really downsize to and buy in a run down area.
-
No it's NOT. Yes, people live in expensive houses, that's because houses have increased in value exponentially, it doesn't make people "loaded",as the value is in the property not in their pocket. If they choose to "pay way over the odds for groceries" it's because i) they don't value money and ii) they've got more money than sense, plain and simple. Just because people live in ED or on the fringes that's choice. Just stand back a moment and consider what properties cost 30 - 40 yeasr ago compared to today, then you'll understand why people are not cash rich and loaded.

Who can afford the prices charged by Toad bakery, haven't they heard their is a cost of living CRISIS???????

"FT | Chippenham earn the win and we are relegated from the National League South after five years. Thank you to the fans for your support this afternoon, you were exceptional as you have been all season. #Hamlet 0-1 #Bluebirds" acknowledgement to the Horniman Heights, Sad to hear that our local team, Dulwich Hamlet have been relegated from the National League South. 😢

Has anyone, anything positive to say about Forest Hill road Group Practice or is still the shambles it has been for a considerable amount of time, I hear nothing but bad things said by people about this practice. Please say if it has got any better or does it need urgent treatment itself. Shame their isn't an A&E for poorly run surgeries!!!!!

Lunchtime today 27/04/23 Three checkouts being staffed, change of shift took place, smooth switchover and turning round customers fairly quickly Self service checkouts at the far end, busy with a queue. Other self checkout running reasonably. Milk in stock, Some cheeses moved to end of isle but no indication anywhere that they have been moved. A bit low on some fruit and veg. In store baked bread running low, although the lady baker who runs the bakery section has much improved how it operates. Thankfully the old dear in that section has long gone and it is now run by a truly lovely lady baker, she is happy to engage with customers, is always happy and smiling, a pure delight to deal with and a real credit to the bakery. If you're there say hello to here. Outside, the guy who collects the trollies is always happy and always aims to please customers so trolley's are available. Everything I needed was in stock, so nothing to whinge about.

One Tree Hill Swings torn asunder
jazzer replied to JusticeForOneTreeHillSwings's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Someone's a whizz with a keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta say, it's probably the most entertaining first post, a new poster has posted on this forum, which brings a wry chuckle on a cold, grey, damp, now wet Monday afternoon in SE23. Looks like any swinging activity on the Hill of Honour (as it was once called) will have to wait till they are maybe restored or replaced? -
Alternative shops exist for fish, meat, cheese and deli products assuming you do not want to pay the over the top prices charged by Mons, Moxons and Roses. Just need to shop around and take your custom to retailers who vale your custom and who look after you. This is turning into an upmarket version of the poundland thread, just this time it's all about a nw takeaway

Status alert for route P13 Thanks for your update, much appreciated. Just checked the TfL website which states; https://tfl.gov.uk/bus/status/?Input=P13+towards+Streatham+Station&lineIds=p13&startDate=2023-04-24T00%3A00%3A00&endDate=2023-04-24T23%3A59%3A59&dateTypeSelect=Future+date&direction=inbound "BELLENDEN ROAD,SE15; From 08:00-17:00 (DAILY) on 24, 25 and 26 April route P13 is diverted in both directions due to resurfacing works. Stops Blenheim Grove to Pytchley Road are not served." It will be on diversion, so it WILL be running but along an amended route till the roadworks are complete. I'd hazard a guess that it will do Rye Lane, Peckham Rye, East Dulwich Road, Goose Green, Grove Vale to and from Sainsbury's, where towards Streatham it will revert to the normal route towards Streatham.

Moving out of East Dulwich to release capital - but where to??
jazzer replied to GrumpyOldGitLady's topic in The Lounge
Durham is nothing less than idyllic, a beautiful city with a lovely castle, Cathedral and town centre. Go a little further up the NE coast to another beautiful town, Tynemouth, and the further along the NE coast you go, the more you discover what an absolute gem that it is. If it was not as wet and cold as it is in Autumn and Winter, I'd move like a shot. And as has been said Sussex is another place to consider relocating too.
