  1. Would make an ideal spot for the likes of Nando's in SE23.
  2. Competition is welcome.
  3. Gotta say have sent items 2nd class across the SW and they both arrived on time and in perfect condition, so as much as there are concerns about RM's performance, personally they have delivered as per the targets. However what is a concern is that the Delivery Office behind Forest Hill station have reduced opening hours to two hours a day 8-10am M-F and 8-12 Sat. They seem to be relying on the "newly" introduced automatic next day delivery for missed deliveries. So far I've had one hit and one miss with this.
  4. Preference is the Lidl at the top end of the Old Kent Road (Caroline Gardens/Ilderton Road) , lots of space in store and a good selection of items.
  5. Just go to Lidl and indulge in the Christmas aisle, jam packed full of Christmas goodies to gorge on throughout the festive period.
  6. I said "it was a repulsive comment", and I stand by what I said. It was it was not directed at you personally. Had it been Admin would have immediately banned me and rightly so. Admin has made it abundantly clear that users are forbidden from making any personal attack on this forum, I adhere by those rules.
  7. Alright, good on you, I found Dickens heavy going to read, his style and language aren't the easiest, see Great Expectations, A Christmas carol etc......
  8. No, I don't know my Dickens, never had the opportunity of a grammer school education. Was out working at 19 and doing day release to get my ONC and HNC qualifications.
  9. Why didn't you use quotation marks, that's what they are supposed to be used for to let someone know that it is a quote. Heathen, well that's a low blow.
  10. no, but either way imo it's offensive
  11. that's a truly repulsive comment.
  12. As an ad on, a lot of pavements are covered in dropped leaves, so please take care.
  13. save the high street, avoid amazon.
  14. Next it will be the fault of Thatcher's privatisation. People buy shares and expect a return, perhaps the question to be asking is where did all the money generated from the sale of shares go, what did Royal Mail do with it all? If you know do please tell? I'd guess it went on exorbitant salaries for incompetent CEO's and the like at RM.
  15. Clearly people want a postal service but some do not want to pay for it and then moan when it fails, I'd suggest use it or lose, is the simple answer.
  16. Yes and I have a source 185's aren't "electric", they run on batteries which has to be charged and where does the enegy come from that, oh I know, fossil fuels. Oyster was done before Khan was in office, what integrated system ? Not getting into a ulez debate, for the record I disagree with ulez, is that not why vehicles pay road tax, for which Battery vehicles will also now be paying or very soon.
  17. What does climate change have to do with bus frequency, really!!!!!!!!!!!! I do despair Totally disagree, Khan has been a diabolical example of a mayor and in fact London does not need a Mayor, the city ran perfectly well without one. It's another layer of unneeded bureaucracy that we pay for and the money could be much better spent rather than on the exorbitant salaries at city hall and the consultants they employ on even more eye watering wages.
  18. That applies to many roads, pretty much a hit or miss approach by LB S.
  19. It is not that buses do not run as per the timetable but khan has managed to reduce the number of buses running per hour on local routes, i.e. P12, P13, 78. And what is this nonsense about holding buses to "even out the service" and why is it when buses are "due" on the indicator board, i.e the 63 at Camberwell Old Cemetery, the buses remain parked up rather than running as is indicated and scheduled??? There are no bendy buses operating in London, so why make the point? Khan remains a huge liability to London in general, come May I only hope he gets booted out of office and so are the LTN's and ULEZ, which I'm sure won't please you M.

  22. Dean Sullivan (actor) also passed away yesterday aged only 68.
  23. Currently £93.50 in Lewisham and expected to rise AGAIN in April 2024
  24. I was in late lunchtime today, I had my list, got the items I wanted, got to self service trolley check out and there was a queue, BUT it moved quickly, scanned my items, used my nectar card, paid and in and out in less than 15-20 minutes, so I had a very good experience. PLUS, thumbs up to the bakery section, the lady running it does a superb job and she's a STAR. The team deserve recognition for how they've turned it around over the past 18months.
