  1. Currently £93.50 in Lewisham and expected to rise AGAIN in April 2024
  2. I was in late lunchtime today, I had my list, got the items I wanted, got to self service trolley check out and there was a queue, BUT it moved quickly, scanned my items, used my nectar card, paid and in and out in less than 15-20 minutes, so I had a very good experience. PLUS, thumbs up to the bakery section, the lady running it does a superb job and she's a STAR. The team deserve recognition for how they've turned it around over the past 18months.
  3. thanks for the clarification.
  4. So from that can I take it that they will not be closed for 3-4 days but RATHER are closing at 10pm rather than 11pm for 3-4 days from 1st December? They've been closing at that time for probably the past six weeks, since all this refurbishment work began and will do so until 1st December. If they were going to be closed for 4 days surely there would be big notices in the shop? Mis-information just causes confusion and isn't helpful.
  5. Sainsburys did the same thing to the branch in Forest Hill a couple of months ago
  6. Didn't see any obvious signs yesterday.
  7. A quick update following a trip to DKH today. The fridges by the bakery have all been relocated and the stock sits in the same aisle as dairy products. Lots of new freezer units filled with produce has been temporarily installed along the frozen food section. The banana stand remains in the same aisle but has been replaced and moved much closer to the end of that aisle Still very much a hunt and search shop today which of course takes longer to find what you're after. There are staff re-stocking shelves and if you ask they try to help. Unfortunately some mumble rather than speak clearly even after several attempts!!!!!!!! arghhhhhhhhhhh
  8. see https://www.sra.org.uk/consumers/register/organisation/?sraNumber=508445#headingRegulatoryRecord click on This firm's regulatory record and then on Closure below that.
  9. It resembles work in progress, much of it is considered to be improvements, i.e. lighting the individual areas within the fruit and veg section, installation of the new low level refrigeration units etc, however it results in having to hunt around the store for what you wish to purchase, (maybe part of their plan to get customers to spend more). From week to week aisles have been moved to different locations within the store. The only help has been from the pieces of paper are now hanging at the end of aisles saying where things are. Otherwise it's pretty much "hunting season". I use Sainsbury's for particular items and ditto with Morrisons, (Asda/Tesco occasionally again for specific items) and Lidl, plus a near on weekly trip to a butcher just off the Old Kent Road. It's a case of shopping around for the best prices for the things I need on a week to week basis, similar to what Pugwash does.
  10. Ok, some good points raised, can you share some of these gems you describe with us so we can go and try and do our own comparisons.
  11. And two chain hotels in Lewisham, one closer to the fire station the other closer to the railway station
  12. Went for the first time today at around 1.30pm, freshly cooked to order and large portions with a steady flow of customers, well done guy's and keep up the great work.
  13. The Lloyds Pharmacy on Peckham Hill Street has become Hill Street Pharmacy
  14. Bill Kenwright: Everton chairman and theatre producer has died aged 78
  15. Sir Bobby Charlton, the Manchester United legend who was a key figure in England's 1966 World Cup victory, has died at the age of 86. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62989801
  16. When you stand facing the store the first aisle on the left hand side behind all the Halloween junk they sell, exactly as you have described facing the clothes and Habitat stuff.
  17. Can you evidence this? Was in today and everything has pretty much been moved around. What is entertaining to see was that all the "convenience" meals (don't buy these) have been moved to smaller fridge units on the far right of the store, perhaps they want customers to explore the Home section and make more use of Argos in store. Service there today was quick however the item was just pushed onto the counter and the staff member walked off without acknowledging the receipt or stamping it. In terms of self scan, it seems this is the way forward with the big four supermarkets plus Lidl, haven't been to an Aldi store for yonks so can't comment. Maybe it's cheaper for them, but what it is, is far less customer centred.
  18. Actually, it is the You and Yours programme from 16/10/23 Check prices between supermarkets and see who is offering the lowest price and if the loyalty card helps you get that, them all well and good. But it is on branded items not supermarket own brands, however you gain points (minimal that equate to money)
  19. Get a card and get your discount. well worth doing.
  20. Been using Krystals for 13+ years, as Day Lewis on Forest Hill Road are utterly hopeless and Fosters had in the past always had to order items.
  21. Did the same thing to the Forest Hill branch recently. It's a dastardly marketing ploy to get customers to search around for items and walk past areas they may not usually use.
  22. Ofgem, Ofwat, Ofcom
  23. Thought that was for the ludicrous increase in the daily standing charge to pay for all those providers who went bust, and now they want to introduce an Annual Charge. They're having a laugh at the consumer who they are supposed to work in the interests of. Honestly, Ofgem needs to be removed as they are nothing but a liability to the consumer.
  24. Well if they didn't show then as has been pointed out earlier I guess they mean the library at the Plough.
