  1. Lunchtime today 27/04/23 Three checkouts being staffed, change of shift took place, smooth switchover and turning round customers fairly quickly Self service checkouts at the far end, busy with a queue. Other self checkout running reasonably. Milk in stock, Some cheeses moved to end of isle but no indication anywhere that they have been moved. A bit low on some fruit and veg. In store baked bread running low, although the lady baker who runs the bakery section has much improved how it operates. Thankfully the old dear in that section has long gone and it is now run by a truly lovely lady baker, she is happy to engage with customers, is always happy and smiling, a pure delight to deal with and a real credit to the bakery. If you're there say hello to here. Outside, the guy who collects the trollies is always happy and always aims to please customers so trolley's are available. Everything I needed was in stock, so nothing to whinge about.
  2. Someone's a whizz with a keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta say, it's probably the most entertaining first post, a new poster has posted on this forum, which brings a wry chuckle on a cold, grey, damp, now wet Monday afternoon in SE23. Looks like any swinging activity on the Hill of Honour (as it was once called) will have to wait till they are maybe restored or replaced?
  3. Alternative shops exist for fish, meat, cheese and deli products assuming you do not want to pay the over the top prices charged by Mons, Moxons and Roses. Just need to shop around and take your custom to retailers who vale your custom and who look after you. This is turning into an upmarket version of the poundland thread, just this time it's all about a nw takeaway
  4. Status alert for route P13 Thanks for your update, much appreciated. Just checked the TfL website which states; https://tfl.gov.uk/bus/status/?Input=P13+towards+Streatham+Station&lineIds=p13&startDate=2023-04-24T00%3A00%3A00&endDate=2023-04-24T23%3A59%3A59&dateTypeSelect=Future+date&direction=inbound "BELLENDEN ROAD,SE15; From 08:00-17:00 (DAILY) on 24, 25 and 26 April route P13 is diverted in both directions due to resurfacing works. Stops Blenheim Grove to Pytchley Road are not served." It will be on diversion, so it WILL be running but along an amended route till the roadworks are complete. I'd hazard a guess that it will do Rye Lane, Peckham Rye, East Dulwich Road, Goose Green, Grove Vale to and from Sainsbury's, where towards Streatham it will revert to the normal route towards Streatham.
  5. Durham is nothing less than idyllic, a beautiful city with a lovely castle, Cathedral and town centre. Go a little further up the NE coast to another beautiful town, Tynemouth, and the further along the NE coast you go, the more you discover what an absolute gem that it is. If it was not as wet and cold as it is in Autumn and Winter, I'd move like a shot. And as has been said Sussex is another place to consider relocating too.
  6. I hope the transition goes smoothly for you Joe, I have tried logging into the new website that you provided a link for but it will not allow me to log in. Good luck with tonight.
  7. FOREST HILL ROAD,SE22; From 07:00 Wednesday 05 April until 17:00 Monday 10 April, route 63 is operating from Kings Cross to Peckham Rye and there is no service from Peckham Rye to Honor Oak due to Thames Water works. Buses towards Kings Cross will depart at Nigel Road (stop WM on Peckham Rye). FOREST HILL ROAD,SE22; From 07:00 Wednesday 05 April until 17:00 Monday 10 April, Routes 363 and N63 are on diversion due to Thames Water works. Buses towards Crystal Palace will miss stops from Friern Road to Underhill Road. Buses towards Peckham will miss stops from Underhill Road/Melford Road to Friern Road. Use the stops Lordship Lane/Wood Vale, The Gardens or Peckham Rye/Barry Road. Buses are diverted via Barry Road and Lordship Lane I did see 363's running in the direction towards Crystal Palace at lunchtime today from Underhill rd into Lordship Lane. In the opposite direction they where definitely on diversion down Lordship Lane and Barry Road.
  8. Who cares, it's more gossiping by people who have nothing better to do about something that is unimportant and irrelevant. Probably the same crew who slagged off Poundland opening on Lordship Lane, get a life for dears sake.
  9. Yes it is very sad news, he was a charming man, and he was only 67, way too young.
  10. The accounts make very interesting reading, specially those dated March - September 2019,
  11. A quick heads up, Monday 27 March and ending on Thursday 30 March, bus routes, P13 and 363 on Diversion due to resurfacing of Underhill Road P13 UNDERHILL ROAD: From 08:00 - 17:00 daily, starting on Monday 27 March and ending on Thursday 30 March, route P13 is on diversion via Lordship Lane and Barry Road due to roadworks. Buses are not serving the stops Underhill Road/Melford Road, Belvoir Road, Langton Rise, Dunstans Road and Friern Road. 363 UNDERHILL ROAD: From 08:00 - 17:00 daily, starting on Monday 27 March and ending on Thursday 30 March, route 363 is on diversion via Lordship Lane and Barry Road due to roadworks. Buses towards Elephant and Castle are missing stops from Underhill Road/Melford Road to Friern Road. Buses towards Crystal Palace are missing stops from Friern Road to Underhill Road.
  12. Apparently there is no national standardisation of veterinary charges, surprised that is the case, they can charge what ever they like and "get away" with.
  13. Much prefer Shaun's DIY on Grove Vale. If you go through the main shop an Aladdin's cave awaits you out the back.
  14. Coffee being a supposed luxury is laughable, make it yourself at home. We all have a choice where we shop, what I see is people with more money than sense sitting in coffee shops and paying exorbitant prices for the pleasure. We're in the midst of a cost of living crisis, surely what you need surpasses what you want, unless of course you're trying to keep up with the "Jones's" Totally agree with Louisa's sentiment, and I'm more than happy that Louisa continues to have access to all the options on the forum we all have,
  15. Blame all the supermarkets who sell fruit and veg in plastic bags which is cheaper than fruit and veg in their natural skins, madness!!!!!!!
  16. Price for bananas in Sainsbury and Tesco is 90p/kg up from 78p.
  17. Dulwich College school building The heart of Dulwich Village Goose Green roundabout Top of Dog Kennel Hill looking South Dawson's Heights, shape of the building akin to a battleship The architecture of the remaining Dulwich Community Hospital buildings Dulwich library The church steeple at St. Johns, Goose Green. Visible from so many different directions, as is the church steeple of St. Peter at the junction of Dulwich Common
  18. 14 March 2023 Sad to report the untimely passing of Bobby Caldwell, "Robert Hunter Caldwell was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He released several albums spanning R&B, soul, jazz, and adult contemporary. He is known for his soulful and versatile vocals."
  19. Joyce Simms, r n b vocalist (belated report) 13 October 2022. Come into my life, All and All
  20. and the newish one since they moved across the road on Rye Lane
  21. Use Krystals but since the business changed hands last year, service levels have varied, tbh a bit hit and miss. Used to be run like a well oiled machine. The ladies on the main counter are lovely to deal with, as is their post office.
  22. Thanks for your lengthy response. FHRGP do not appear to have access to hospital blood test results, which is honestly absurd. "the left hand still does not not know what the right hand is doing" There was no option of verbal consent, the lad behind the counter printed the form once and then reprinted it, I expect to include the testing but conveniently failed to mention it or give me the option to opt out. The lady who took the bloods at Tessa Jowell Centre proceeded to take three vials of blood and only when I pointed out I did not consent to HIV testing, that she wrote that on the form. I'm guessing it was still probably tested. FHRGP approach was underhand and sly. However in their defence, the Practice Manager did agree that I should have been told and given the option to opt out. She said she was going to talk to both reception and clinical staff about this. I feel she realised an error had occurred through the "forgetfulness" otherwise known as the carelessness of the lad on reception.
