  1. Lidl would be great, will save having to go to either the Old Kent Road or Catford for all their super special offers, this week Mexico/New America, next week Eastern Europe, last week Austria........
  2. Lose mushrooms are another regular casualty as is blue top 2 pint fresh milk. There was a long period when fresh milk was regularly unavailable. Very much seems to be a case luck of the draw when you go to DKH at present.
  3. Think of all the additional footfall on Lordship lane as a result of Poundland arriving.
  4. a pretty rubbish budget unless you earn over £150K
  5. And you just can't wait to stick your size 13 boot into them whatever they say, will be wrong by you.
  6. Totally agree with you. Like you until 6 years ago I had hardly any interaction with the Practice, then due to an unexpected life event, my interaction with them increased significantly. Now I only deal with them unless it is a "last" resort. When I've been "referred" to the Tessa Jowell Centre, the service at TJ has been nothing less than outstanding. Why can't FHRGP learn from them?????
  7. I have two things to say about Forest Hill Road Group Practice; i) Have always had really good experiences with the Advanced Practice Nurse here who has ALWAYS been kind, considerate, helpful, thoughtful, observant, in fact everything and more than an APN should be, she always goes the extra mile and is to be commended for the service she has provided for the Practice. ii) The other half of the Pharmacy team who has been there a few years now and also understands and goes the extra mile to meet and exceed patient expectations.
  8. Same happened a couple of weeks ago in SE23. Exactly the same as you have described, three masked men (balaclavas) with a baseball bat thieving a catalytic converter, the police attended and said they'd already done five that evening. Patrol cars were out looking, obviously they still have not been captured. Resulted in the car minus it's cat converter having to be scrapped.
  9. Club statement https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/news/chairman-statement-11th-september-2022-2727945.html CHAIRMAN STATEMENT 11TH SEPTEMBER 2022 BY TOM BALE 16 HOURS AGO Club Statement from Chairman Ben Clasper Dulwich Hamlet Football Club Departure of Gavin Rose September 11, 2022 It is with enormous personal sadness that I have to announce that the club has decided not to complete and execute the contract extension for Gavin Rose’s role as men’s first team manager and he will leave the position with immediate effect. It has been an honour and a pleasure to work alongside Gavin over the past four years and whilst we all knew the reality was that all managers eventually move on it was genuinely difficult to accept that time would ever come for us. Simply thanking Gavin for all that he has achieved and wishing him every success in future feels hopelessly inadequate, he will always be part of the Dulwich Hamlet family and I sincerely hope this will not be the end of our association either personally or professionally. Gavin has been responsible for many of the all-time high moments in living memory at the club and his contribution deserves the legendary status I have no doubt it will gain as people look back on what he has achieved here since his appointment in 2009 which makes him the club’s longest serving manager. It is both those moments and the length of service that have been at the forefront of everyone’s minds as the board have worked hard on making the tough decisions in many areas both on and off the pitch to the benefit of Dulwich Hamlet Football Club and which we believe are necessary to deliver the long-term objectives we set in October 2018 when supporters stepped in to save and then rebuild the club. The departure of any manager from any club is a difficult decision as it impacts everyone associated with the club but I say with no hint of exaggeration that I believe few clubs have been through a change of this magnitude and everyone at the club understands how de-stabilising this will be and is committed to steering us through the times ahead and the challenges that are bound to arise. On behalf of the club and the board, Ben Clasper, Chairman
  10. My understanding and please correctly if I have mis-understood (I'm sure you will), Truss indicated that she wants to reward people who work, so that makes me think she wants to get more people working and less people living on Welfare.

  13. Who cares where he lives, just let him live his life, we is a PM booted out of Office (and rightly so, probably later than he should have gone) and get on with yours.
  14. Ought to crush the damn things!!!
  15. Not as simple as that. If there are 4-5 of them dumped in one place, it's probably not renters but Lime's own operatives that have left them there. As far as I can see, they're flinging them out of a van a few of a time. I have seen them dumped right on the bobbled flagstones of zebra crossing etc. This is a problem created by the rental companies. What do you think actually happens if you call that number to complain about badly parked bikes? Did that just yesterday and following regular postings about the issue and calling the number the bike was removed, job done, success.
  16. It's the selfish, thoughtless, dumb, inconsiderate morons that use these bikes and leave them in the most inconvenient places who need prosecuting. If you use one of these bikes, don't just dump it and leave it up so someone else has to get the bike moved because you are a selfish moron and sort out your mess because you are a lazy so and so. These bikes which cause or create an obstruction should be crushed." Lime bikes Contact number 0800 808 5223
  17. They can howl to their hearts content, reducing Nat Ins is a start, but not the long term solution. Problem's which need resolving are; i) cost of living crisis ii) domestic fuel energy crisis iii) spiralling rate of inflation NHS vi) deal with Europe v) deal with Brexit fallout vi) sort out the NI divide down the Irish Sea viii) deal with Scotland viiii) keep the UK together and no break up. The UK is going backwards, as a reminder the first and main role of Government is to protect it's citizen's. Truss needs to communicate, communicate and communicate with the electorate, explaining how her Govt are going to deal and combat i) - viiii) in both the short and long term and what the consequences of these measures will be on us in the UK.
  18. nah, it will continue to do what James "gob on a stick" O'Brien has been doing, slagging off Boris ( and yes he was a sleaze bag who should have gone much, much earlier) and has left UK Plc in a worse position than when he became PM, and Liz Truss who will no doubt get the same treatment as O'Brien already started dishing out several week ago. The continual slagging off actually becomes boring, like the needle got stuck on the record.
  19. UK should have done what the Far East did, buying huge amounts at a fixed cost, yet again late to the party because for the last 10+ weeks we've had no Government as such, a bloody disgrace, they need a piece dynamite shoved somewhere to make them (and I mean cross party) wake the hell up and start taking this cost of living and domestic fuel crisis SERIOUSLY.......
  20. The contractors have worked swiftly to resurface Brenchley Gardens from the Forest Hill Road end, so well done guys.
  21. Whilst traffic may divert onto Underhill which over the past 12-18months has seen increased traffic flows already, the other side of Langton Rise and Westwood Park and the other connecting roads will also see increased traffic flows. Those that lose are local residents, yet again.
  22. Rather than closure, probably temp traffic lights as they previously did when creating the bottle neck slow down points.
  23. Wasn't aware of the plans previously, so this is all somewhat surprising. Agree with you about leadership from Central Govt, but also their needs to be stronger communication, consultation, engagement, action and leadership from Local Govt, with cross borough and Party working. While I can appreciate that traffic volumes on Woodvale would ideally want reducing, it is one of several main thoroughfare's from Forest Hill Road to Lordship Lane and the South Circular, with a significant bus connecting route. As LTN's have shown, when you block/reduce traffic from one road or sets of roads it diverts onto the nearest roads as alternative routes, which was more than adequately demonstrated with the recent closure of both Honor Oak Road and Woodvale simultaneously pushing traffic through the "horniman heights", Langton Rise, Canonbie, Westwood Park making them into 24hr "speed tracks". Love the description of Honor Oak road as "a farm track with a primary school on it" No arguments from me, rather the opposite and total agreement. To add further misery, from 30th August, Brenchley Gardens is to be resurfaced, so expect further traffic congestion, chaos and inconvenience for those living on adjacent roads and just before schools return. The planning of these works could not be at a worse time. If you think back only a few weeks ago, the pavement width extending works caused enough disruption then. Do those in charge have no understanding of the misery they inadvertently cause residents?? And YES, Brenchley Gardens is well past it sell by date for being resurfaced, so while I agree the works need doing the timing could not be worse, given the disruption already experienced earlier. How about some joined up thinking from Highways, but that's wishful thinking..................
  24. Thanks for uploading the drawings. Replicating what was done on Ivydale Road. The consequences will be; i) queuing traffic, more pollution ii) longer journey times iii) extended times for bus travel iv) more opportunities for accidents with vehicles jumping the "priority waiting places" And v) traffic diverting to Underhill Road and Westwood Park. to get onto the South Circular. Plus Melford Road is one way to Lordship Lane. Chaos will ensue.....
