  1. I have found that co-op's prices have increased to the extent that hey are more expensive for staples and have increased prices i.e. milk than the other supermarkets. Sainsbury's Price lock range is not actually price locked, prices of these items have been "sneakily" increased even though they are apparently "price locked - NOT" Always was under the impression that M&S was the most expensive locally but according to BB that is not the case? The necessity to shop at more than one supermarket has been an ongoing requirement to save money and that appears to need to continue. Looking out for price reductions on specific Specials that are needed is the way to go. Unfortunately we are ALL suffering and those independents who charge more than the going rate my in time regret the decision when the footfall to there door goes elsewhere. But one thing is sure, the electorate won't forget about three years of Johnson sleaze and Truss and Kwarteng's disastrous start with escalating the cost of living crisis and punishing those with a mortgage with significantly higher monthly repayments, crashing the economy and if things were not bad enough already. Added to that the domestic fuel crisis, with the punishing and totally unjustified daily standing charge increases. How these can be justified beggars belief! The standing charge has increased by 185% since September 2019, the cost of gas per KWh increased by 373% and the cost of electricity per KWh has increased by 260% over the same period. Come the next election if not before, the Conservatives will be booted out of office for making an utter shambles of the economy and making its people suffer.
  2. Raise a complaint with all your evidence and submit to Thames Water with the [email protected] (which is the key to success), get assigned a case reference number and case manager, they bend over backwards to sort things out, works wonders and results in reduction in what you will pay through the compensation you will receive for their continued errors.
  3. There are traffic lights at the junction of Woodvale/ Forest Hill Road, Traffic lights just past the 63 terminus bus stop, traffic lights at the Forest Hill Road Dunstan's road junction, oh I remember the days when there were none except for a zebra crossing where the traffic lights are now at the Forest Hill Road/Dunstan's road junction and how the traffic flowed so freely, no queues but then those who know best had three sets of traffic lights installed between Woodvale/Forest Hill Road and Dunstan's Road/Forest Hill Road!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it's a 20mph stretch pf road. Sorry to hear about your neighbours cat.
  4. Won't be a GE for two years because the Conservatives know they would be annihilated. The electorate won't forget that Truss and Kwarzi crashed the economy within 27 days or being in office, they also won't forgive the forced increase in mortgage repayments because Kwarzi made a major error in his tax "giveaway", the ratcheting up of domestic fuel costs etc. £400 helps but in no way of sets the increases. Elec KWh Elec Stand Charge Gas KWh Gas Stand Charge % Increase 01/10/2022 261 186 373 183 % Increase 01/04/2022 216 188 266 185 % increase calculated on costs from September 2020 v October 2022
  5. Personally I prefer to go in person and pick what I want, especially for chilled and fresh items. Their "pickers" have no concept of use by dates or quality of produce.
  6. Generally self check out tends to be quicker than queuing for a till with a checkout person, but one question, why have Sainsbury's shut the exit at the far end of the store by the self service tills, now making everyone enter and leave through one set of doors at the store entrance, very weird, bearing in mind Autumn is here and I'd have thought they'd revert to one entrance and one exit to reduce the chances of passing Covid on.
  7. While Lidl may be "cheaper" than the other supermarkets, the good thing about Lidl is the quality of some of their specific products and the weekly opportunity to try new things when they have "flavour of the week" weeks. A couple of weeks ago they had Italian week, some lovely biscuits that were really cheap and worth every penny. And dried mushrooms etc.
  8. Perhaps the lack of labour to bring in the Broccoli crop is the reason for such long stalks, who knows.
  9. Tesco (OKR) had own brand Dijon mustard in stock last week.
  10. Moving things around aisles/the store is the stores way of making you search out the products you want to purchase and they hope you'll see other items as you look that they hope you'll buy them, all it does is extend the length of the shopping "experience"
  11. So long stalk broccoli, one pack of loose mushrooms a day and lack of milk is because of leaving the EU???? And the evidence to support your supposition is? please can you expand........
  12. Apparently I'm told there's one in Camberwell, but Lordship Lane would be soooooooooooooooo convenient
  13. Lidl would be great, will save having to go to either the Old Kent Road or Catford for all their super special offers, this week Mexico/New America, next week Eastern Europe, last week Austria........
  14. Lose mushrooms are another regular casualty as is blue top 2 pint fresh milk. There was a long period when fresh milk was regularly unavailable. Very much seems to be a case luck of the draw when you go to DKH at present.
  15. Think of all the additional footfall on Lordship lane as a result of Poundland arriving.
  16. a pretty rubbish budget unless you earn over £150K
  17. And you just can't wait to stick your size 13 boot into them whatever they say, will be wrong by you.
  18. Totally agree with you. Like you until 6 years ago I had hardly any interaction with the Practice, then due to an unexpected life event, my interaction with them increased significantly. Now I only deal with them unless it is a "last" resort. When I've been "referred" to the Tessa Jowell Centre, the service at TJ has been nothing less than outstanding. Why can't FHRGP learn from them?????
  19. I have two things to say about Forest Hill Road Group Practice; i) Have always had really good experiences with the Advanced Practice Nurse here who has ALWAYS been kind, considerate, helpful, thoughtful, observant, in fact everything and more than an APN should be, she always goes the extra mile and is to be commended for the service she has provided for the Practice. ii) The other half of the Pharmacy team who has been there a few years now and also understands and goes the extra mile to meet and exceed patient expectations.
  20. Same happened a couple of weeks ago in SE23. Exactly the same as you have described, three masked men (balaclavas) with a baseball bat thieving a catalytic converter, the police attended and said they'd already done five that evening. Patrol cars were out looking, obviously they still have not been captured. Resulted in the car minus it's cat converter having to be scrapped.
  21. Club statement https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/news/chairman-statement-11th-september-2022-2727945.html CHAIRMAN STATEMENT 11TH SEPTEMBER 2022 BY TOM BALE 16 HOURS AGO Club Statement from Chairman Ben Clasper Dulwich Hamlet Football Club Departure of Gavin Rose September 11, 2022 It is with enormous personal sadness that I have to announce that the club has decided not to complete and execute the contract extension for Gavin Rose’s role as men’s first team manager and he will leave the position with immediate effect. It has been an honour and a pleasure to work alongside Gavin over the past four years and whilst we all knew the reality was that all managers eventually move on it was genuinely difficult to accept that time would ever come for us. Simply thanking Gavin for all that he has achieved and wishing him every success in future feels hopelessly inadequate, he will always be part of the Dulwich Hamlet family and I sincerely hope this will not be the end of our association either personally or professionally. Gavin has been responsible for many of the all-time high moments in living memory at the club and his contribution deserves the legendary status I have no doubt it will gain as people look back on what he has achieved here since his appointment in 2009 which makes him the club’s longest serving manager. It is both those moments and the length of service that have been at the forefront of everyone’s minds as the board have worked hard on making the tough decisions in many areas both on and off the pitch to the benefit of Dulwich Hamlet Football Club and which we believe are necessary to deliver the long-term objectives we set in October 2018 when supporters stepped in to save and then rebuild the club. The departure of any manager from any club is a difficult decision as it impacts everyone associated with the club but I say with no hint of exaggeration that I believe few clubs have been through a change of this magnitude and everyone at the club understands how de-stabilising this will be and is committed to steering us through the times ahead and the challenges that are bound to arise. On behalf of the club and the board, Ben Clasper, Chairman
  22. My understanding and please correctly if I have mis-understood (I'm sure you will), Truss indicated that she wants to reward people who work, so that makes me think she wants to get more people working and less people living on Welfare.
