  1. No it will not do what you think it will. The consequence of roadworks this afternoon resulted in traffic being backed up in the direction to the Grove Tavern at about 5pm and it was solid and not moving, More traffic not moving so more stagnant pollution. No wonder more people are dying of cancer from the excessive pollution. If traffic moved it would help, but planners who deem "they know best" plus Mayor Khan think slowing traffic to a stagnant crawl is the answer, when common sense shows how wrong they are. The perfect example is Forest Hill Road, till the so called know it all planners decided it needed three lots of traffic signals installed. Where previously traffic used to flow, now it does the exact opposite. All these supposed new measures may keep people employed in traffic departments, the reality is it causes inconvenience and dramatically slows traffic down, which is wrong in every sense.
  2. Yep, BUT slower journey's INCLUDES slower bus journeys if traffic moves slower, then everything in that traffic queue will move slower and take longer, your point does not hold tight It's not debating, its putting a counter argument that is then swiftly dismissed.
  3. You always want to be right whatever the subject and this one is your job. I want to see traffic flow not be congested due to daft road widening schemes which INCONVIENIENCE people and make journeys longer wasting peoples time.
  4. What smarter transport choices do you expect people to make? As I already said i is my belief that narrowing roads slows traffic flow, increases journey times and hence pollution thus increases.
  5. Why do you intentionally misinterpret what was said. If you actually thought about it then you'd recognize that slower journeys because of narrower roads means it takes longer for traffic to move along and hence motor vehicles will excrete more noxious gases.
  6. And so an update, a message saying I had a telephone appt which they then changed to a double to deal with two issues at once. From originally booking to the appt has been four weeks, so disappointed, but appt booked in.
  7. What have I said that has upset you? So, I've experienced my first problems with them getting a telephone consultation but hey, after a chat today, it's supposed to be booked in next week. I'll have to see what if that happens.
  8. thought it had been bought last year and was being converted to a family home

  10. So posh chicken then. Shame then that the supply of chicken is going to become harder to acquire and more expensive through the increased prevalence of bird flu

  12. Interesting to learn that "Belair Mansion is owned by the Dulwich Estate", wonder if they are aware of what has been going on at these "parties"?
  13. Just googled the term "tromboning", my oh my, then did "roast" and all this going on at Belair House, what people are willing to do, it brings tears to the eyes.
  14. Won't be the only thing getting touched in more ways than one, how comes this has been kept so secretive, and right on the door step almost of the village. The mind boggles at what's been going on under our noses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well this has certainly livened up the chat on a mid Saturday afternoon. I've even got the perfect track for this............................... Certainly not a "Dear God" situation.
  15. No, but I do now, knot tying, one to try out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Disagree - wider pavements result in narrower roads, slow journey times and more pollution.
  17. Looked as though it was pavement widening works by Southwark Council?????
  18. Not at those prices thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a bucket of soapy water, a j cloth and a leather
  19. I'm amazed at the detail, research, time you seem to spend on this and other topics arguing, is traffic, roads etc a fascination to you? There's a whole world to explore, things to do, places to go, people to see...........................................
  20. Just takes longer, slower idling speeds = More Pollution and slower journey times.
