  1. So, are the middle classes going to get squeezed harder in order to prevent complete 3rd world poverty from occurring or are the poor going to get left to rot while those who voted tory get respite for their loyalty? They?ll probably have to spend that extra cash on security fencing though. I know that sounds emotive but it may well be the scenario. Call me cynical but I somehow doubt the wealthy are going to have to participate in this austere belt tightening the conservatives are talking about.
  2. Or for whom it is going to be worse?
  3. Yeah. It was all fun and games until someone mentioned prams.
  4. Look what you did Ted. Killed off a perfectly good thread.
  5. Do we have a Loony candidate lined up for the next elections?

  8. Being ape-like, bipedal* and having spent a portion of my life roaming African savannah I would like to say to everyone that my genes and I take no offence if you choose not to reproduce. *Not so much for the hunting a gathering though. I prefer Wimpy.

I know of very few people who will disagree with you on that point BUT what do the almighty conservative party intend to do to adjust the economy so that those who have to get off their arse and work can live with some semblance of dignity and quality? I?ll give you the example of someone I know. He lives in a house similar to mine with his family but he rents it off the council and he receives benefits which help support them. He works long hours sometimes 15 a day. He is not the type of person who can spend a few years re-qualifying and start earning ?200p/h and we all need people who do his job even though it?s paid very poorly. Without government support (or a serious rethink of the value of people and the distribution of wealth) all he would be able to afford to raise his family in would be a 1 bed flat in a block somewhere not even remotely fit for human habitation let alone dignity. Or is that not the conservative party?s concern?
  10. Oh don?t concern yourself Halooch. I?m sure I will like it but I will suppress that like in the practiced way that I suppress my like for things like Neil Diamond and stonewashed denim in order to maintain this air of cool cynicism and shit that I got going on.
  11. boom boom.
  12. I put it down to racism personally.
  13. Who is Petunia Ponce?
  14. Exactly, but with a far superior bouquet.
  15. As if I?d be trusted with a position of authority.
  16. You could drink them to keep warm and save on heating.
  17. About as useless as you?d expect a South African to be. Did you just call me a chair?
  18. Yeah, horrible. Makes me glad I was born in a country where the church didn?t actually have any hold over society like it does in Ireland.
  19. Meh, I?m Irish and I?ve known how to count in Afrikaans my whole life. It?s about time the rest of you caught up.
  20. The use sage in the manufacture of some perfumes.
  21. Shit! I know the answer to that one. Not sure about the others though.
  22. Spray then on smelly people in the bus.
  23. Ok I concede your point. Making prejudice assumptions about people is only wrong if they are assumptions based on inherent physical characteristics. They are acceptable if they are based on the inherited cultural aspects of the person.
  24. Depends what you mean by the question. Are you asking: Is the universe somehow more than the sum of its parts? If so does that constitute a god? If so what is a god? Or are you asking: Is there a big man with a white beard sitting on a cloud who has the pope on speed dial?
  25. And so you should, with any topic including religion. But saying that someone is doing ?that very catholic thing? suddenly brings into play a whole bunch of assumptions about a person based on their religion.
