    bank charges

I must admit to not knowing a lot about the issues argued or the case but when did charging penalty rates start to be the reason for providing current accounts for free? Not all of them are free anyway. And anyway a current account isn?t really ?free? even if it is free. They get your salary every month to do with what they will. Not to mention your savings which most people will have through the same bank. And unless you live in a house that wasn?t procured in some way with a mortgage, you have never bought anything on credit and you have never paid tax on anything, banking is not free. I don?t have any problem with an agreed fee being paid for an agreed service but if someone doesn?t have money in an account why not just not allow money to be taken out of it?
  5. This ?journalist? from some or other ?news paper? has the audacity to ask, Are South Africa really as good as they think they are? Apparently ?writing? from a ?computer? somewhere in Cape Town. A city so beset with the English already that an extra cricket team will all but go unnoticed. In ?his? ?article? he tries to ?say? that perhaps they aren?t. Ludicrous! Of course they are. In support of this complete toss he compares the South African team to sunflowers which he then asserts are somehow similar to proteas. Cock! Complete cock! The most you can say is that both are angiosperms. Other than that the one is an annual crop originating in the Americas whereas the other is a type of bush only found in Southern Africa and Madagascar. He then wades deeper into the slurry of ?metaphor? and in doing so suggests that fog descends upon Table Mountain when any cricketing journalist worth their salt knows that it rises up from the ocean (or more specifically the Devil?s pipe). How someone without a basic knowledge of botany and the weather systems of South Atlantic coastlines could be allowed near a computerize writing device let alone allowed to voice such frankly dangerous opinions on the subject of cricket in a daily publication is unfathomable. It corrupts the integrity of the press, promotes dissidence and threatens the security of hard working people. Hell, hand basket, gone.

Capitalism needs to be regulated by government in order to work properly though. Part of that is not allowing complete monopolies to develop. That could be one argument for keeping more banks around.
  8. ?course not but my cello uses it regularly.

  10. Oh yes there would. No matter how well things work they can always be better.
  11. Of course you have to moan about the country you live in. How else will you get the help up off their collective arse to make it a better place?

As usual you have it sussed there quids. Oh wait, what if one of the banks offers free banking in order to attract customers? I?m not sure but I?ve heard somewhere that that is how this thing called capitalism works. Unless of course they all have some sort of agreement with one another. Oh but wait a minute. That?s called a cartel. They?re illegal aren?t they? Or does the law not apply to financial institutions?

  19. That?s not ?right? thinking as opposed to ?left? thinking mind. What I meant was those who correctly no longer think in terms of right and left. Makes sense no?

  22. You?re not wrong but it still doesn?t mean that conservative policy isn?t going to further entrench and broaden social inequality thereby creating larger and more diverse class divides.
