  1. Sorry wrong thread. I just accidentally posted some cricket stuff here.
  2. Oh he's gone back and edited it now no doubt.
  3. Don't try to bamboozle me with "maths".
  4. Couldn?t even make 350. Against England. Fucking rubbish.
  5. A small bottle of hairspray works well, so I?m told.

  8. Anyway Anna I?m sure none of your guest would have taken offence as they probably aren?t as idiosyncratic, cantankerous and tempestuous as me.
  9. Ah. So like quids said, a missus.
  10. Make sure it?s a different colour to your neighbours. It makes things less confusing when you?re coming home pissed.
  11. See conclusive proof that nothing good ever comes from Croydon.
  12. I doubt it is common man. Just bad luck and I suppose it happens from time to time when dealing with a lot of the scum that populate this city. Not much you can do. It?s just a pity you didn?t get a chance to get a hand on him. Although even if you had you would probably still be just as pissed off but at least he would think twice about doing shit like that again.
  13. I also don?t like the fact that a single retailer is given the monopoly over the wedding gifts. I?m pretty sure it violates some sort of EU directives on cartel behaviour or antitrust legislation. But I?m going to stop this now because I think I?ve been making a big, shouty mountain out of a vaguely annoying molehill. I can?t help it. I?ve been having rage issues ever since I stepped in dog shit on Monday night.
  14. What the hell is a dualit?

Me too but those list things fly in the face of the spirit of gift giving. I?ve been deeply offended by them before at friends? and family members? weddings. That doesn?t mean that I bore the people any ill will. But the lists are testaments to materialism and border on, sometimes slipping completely into, greed. When they contain pages and pages of things that you know the couple already have but the ones on the list are the better brand or slightly more expensive/impressive version than they already have, I?m offended. I?m there to celebrate love and family sentiment not to pander to their aspirations. Or when you go through one and there isn?t a single item on it less that ?100 when you know full well that there are elderly people attending the wedding who are spending their savings just to be there and will now feel obliged to spend further huge sums they can?t afford because they don?t want to offend and want to feel included especially since they only see their family once every few years, I?m offended then too. By all means make a gift list. Give it to on of the mums and tell people to call and ask about it and choose something and let her tick off what they are going to get. But a department store?s website with everything ascribed a value through price and branded ready for your online payment is just crass. That?s my opinion on the matter. Take umbrage with it if you will but it is nothing aimed personally at you.
  16. Did they find it boring or offensive Moos? We specifically asked that people didn?t bring gifts but they conspired against us and all put money together that we were told to use towards our honeymoon. Which was kinda nice considering we paid for their knees up out of our own pockets whereas most of our friends who were there have parents who paid for their weddings and honeymoons, bequeathed them deposits for their first homes etc. etc. Arseholes! Not that I?m a jealous, biter little man or anything.

  18. Well it certainly weren't viz.
  19. People don?t actually read Tolstoy do they? I thought it was just something you carried around as a student as a prop to get girls in berets to sleep with you?
  20. How much worth does it have for you and me right now? Well none. We?ve all seen the bullshit unfold right in front of our eyes and have resigned ourselves to the fact that the guilty are going to skip away free to the cheers of the brainless masses. But, if it isn?t politically whitewashed and allows for posterity the leaders who presided over these tragic events to go down in history as the foul, warmongering scum they are, then it will have served some purpose.
  21. I'd rather be late than have to run to get there on time.
  22. Ok Charlies. In this order. Ye olde Mitre ? Farringdony cityish The Brixton Beach ? errr Stockwell Lords (home of the Marylebone Cricket Club) ? St John?s Wood The Tate Britain ? Westminster And Kels is the Victoria Tower Gardens.
  23. If you guys are interested in the subject give Stephen Oppenheimer a go like Mockney said. He is one of those few academics who has the ability to convey his research to lay folk like us without dumbing it down.
  24. Yeah but (and this was the exact argument my wife used when we were considering moving that way to be closer to her business) just think of how often you would have to go to Croydon.
  25. I think it was around about the same time that we decided it was ok to have fridges called Smeg that we realised that we may as well just make up any old shit to call our kids.
