  1. Blimey that really is pushing new levels of silliness. I apologise unreservedly and will go to bed now as it is rather late.
  2. And so it was foretold in the book of, Get Thyself a Job*, ?And lo may the gatecrasher drop a clanger but the sailor?s guide is still that of the galaxy.? ?Though in the end of days the dolphins may make splashy, splashy it be not for their amusement but so that string pudding of blue and of all colours may find a home in all the trees of the future.? *ya lazy bastard
  3. Well it is written that the whales are in on it too.
  4. Now I just feel like drinking jack daniels and knocking things over.
  5. Are you suggesting that people can just make up stories?
  6. Ok enough with science. It is corroborated biblically too: A reading from the letter of St Sinutab to the Piswillians ?And lo it was told unto me that up on high there shall be, life but not as we know it Jim. So it was told so it is written that the whale came and the whale swallowed Jonah and it did take him unto the stars where he was not one time, not two times, not three times but four times probed so as a new people would be bred from his and the whale?s innards. And these people would in future appear in the sky in shining chariots. And all through the world there would be much argument as to the authenticity of the youtube footage.?
  7. That is all very profound but it does not present any empirical evidence to disprove the hypothesis that our world is in fact being run by aliens and that the government and military are in cahoots to cover it all up. Why do you suppose the ex-military Mamora Man is so openly sceptical? Coincidence, or is he trying to throw us off the scent of a secret he has sworn to protect?
  8. Genesis (the beginning), Exodus (escape from Egypt), Leviticus (the Law), Deuteronomy (can?t remember something about Duets perhaps) and Numbers (Something to do with Maths?) They are the books attributed to Moses and form the base of the Torah and consequently are the first five books of the Christian bible. The story goes that they were given to the Jewish people when they gathered at Mount Sinai during the exodus although historians think they were written separately, around this period and then compiled into one by the Jewish priests. "Now write that out 100 times before next lesson or you will be sent to Sister Mary Joseph for a caning."
  9. 1 ? Astronomers are already in league with the aliens. Why do you think they spend so much time looking at the stars in the first place? 2 ? The aliens have special photo-fuzzing technology fitted to their space ships.

It makes me think about the perpetuating idea that the older something is the more credentials it has. It is an idea that permeates all forms of humanity and shows its face in myth, religion and all forms of story telling. There is this idea that ?the ancients? were somehow wiser and more knowledgeable than us even though this goes against the obvious idea that knowledge and insight are built up as time goes on and society progresses. Could it be that there actually was some form of greater knowledge that was lost somewhere along the way or is it just common human idiosyncrasy? Or is it just a side-effect of human consciousness being stuck in (or perhaps only receptive to) a position in time where we can only see ?backwards? but move ?forwards?? We can?t look into the future to plan what we are going to do in the past.
  11. Will this new place that they're opening where Inside27 (gods rest her soul) used to be, be open by then? I'm normally not the cocktail bar type, even though I worked in one for 3 years, but it may be a bit of a change from the norm.
  12. Better than sleeping your way to the middle.
  13. The Phoenix in Victoria is pretty good but expect to pay at least one maybe two thousand pounds per pint.

You are of course refering to the long established, 10pm talking rubbish watershed. Anything anyone says in a pub after 10pm can't be taken seriously and it would also be terribly bad form to be expected to live up to any promises made after the watershed. It?s one of the drinking rules innit. thanks for a great night all. I think Natalie must have hit me in the head with a hammer in my sleep again last night.
  15. Kaiser Chiefs = a soccer team from Soweto
  16. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7489457.stm You couldn't make it up.
  17. Be careful up there Asset. I've heard stories.
  18. It didn't look too pretty before.
  19. The country Benin was named after the famous British explorer, Brigadier Benjamin Conrad Finsbury, a close friend of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The local name was originally Dahomey. Finsbury took photographs on his travels and would send them by courier to the Prince who was also one of his benefactors. Prince Albert would often show these pictures sent back from darkest Africa to the Queen. When he showed her a picture of the bepithhelmeted Finsbury posing with topless local women in Dahomey he explained, ?This is Ben in Dahomey.? Victoria?s Victorian sensibilities were shocked by the brazenness of the women in the picture and she only heard, ?This is Ben in?? before fainting dead away. Apparently she treasured the picture for the rest of her life and would pass it around at tea parties explaining to her guests, ?This is Benin.?
  20. In my experience, apparently a myth.
  21. Yeah and just to let you know he gets tetchy if you don?t bring it with a straw and a slice of lemon.
  22. Aawwh, a proper fight. How nice. Sorry I missed it.
  23. I?m up for it. I am however away for the first 2 weeks in September. I will get Martin onboard again as without him, Dems and the player they lent us we would have been properly stuffed. If we are going to play though let?s get some practice in. It?s light in the evenings at the moment so we can go to the nets in Dulwich Park after work during the week. Then to the Plough.
  24. That?s the one David. The smacks round the ear ?ole index is something that really has to be taken more seriously.
