  1. I?ve never read such a load of rubbish. Everyone knows that eating steak gives you a big willy.
  2. What I was saying is most vegetarians are not militant, meat-is-murder revolutionaries but rather just folks who for their own reasons choose not to eat meat. Plus most of us who eat meat do not demand it whenever we go out. If there is an appetising veggy option we are just as likely to order it. So a restaurant that specialises in good vegetarian food but still offers one or two meat dishes should do pretty well. As soon as something singles itself out as one or the other it just limits itself and brings up this whole evangelistic vegetarian vs indignant carnivore nonsense.
  3. Out of all the reporting and comment from around the world that I have been reading (with growing despondency) about what is going on in South Africa at the moment, this is the closest to the issues anyone has got yet: http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/sean_jacobs/2008/05/south_africas_hard_thruths.html He?s still wrong on some things but he pretty much gets it.
  4. I reckon you could get away with a place that isn?t actually a vegetarian restaurant but just a vegetarian biased restaurant.
  5. No, no hoeing is a completely different course.
  6. Although to be fair Citizen didn?t really break that bail. The bail broke when it hit the ground after his direct hit, side-on from the leg side boundary, shattered all 3 stumps.
  7. I found the ?Which side of the garden shears to hold? course invaluable. EDITED: because I carnt spell shears.
  8. Citizen didn?t drink for all of us. The man of the match started on the beer with me at 10:30am. Did him wonders, didn?t work so well for me though.
  9. Why does it need to come from Chile anyway? I saw a palm tree in the garden centre in Streatham just the other day.
  10. It is all going to send the human race into a downward spiral of negative evolution. Most of us are unfortunately not smart enough to learn from other people?s mistakes. Therefore in order to progress we need to get bumped on the head a few times, slip on the odd banana skin, and get stuck in one or two airtight chambers while they slowly fill up with poisonous gas and a villain divulges his diabolical plans in a cackling monologue. You know that sort of thing. Otherwise it is not so much a case of ?Only the smart survive? but more a case of ?Everyone survives but everyone is stupid?. So we end up with a world full of dumb people who breed another generation of even dumber people. They do the same etc. Next thing you have a society where popular music has reverted back to its most primitive rhythms, people will buy anything if it is in a sparkly enough package, language has devolved to a vague combination of monosyllabic grunts, politicians are elected on personality rather than policy, people will worship whoever the television tells them to, quality is denoted by a label rather than actual quality, the youths aspirations of social rebellion are not a reasoned out intellectual statement against an unjust status quo but rather a frightened malaise of reaction brought about by the lack of self respect, achieving fame is seen as more important than actually achieving and you can?t wear your i-pod in the war museum. Personally I blame Thatcher, the NHS, immigration and Ghandi.
  11. That?s a good idea SteveT. We could have a vegetarian themed curry club this month (I hope I will eventually make it again) I?m not a vegetarian myself* but I do play one on tv. *I tried once but they said I had to give up black pudding and sausages no matter how I remonstrated about neither of them actually being meat.
  12. They never dislodged. It was a trick of the light.
  13. Any combinations of the following: Strategic Brand Proactive Stakeholders Capacities Repositioning Dynamic Especially when mentioned in the vicinity of the acronym KPIs
  14. I?ve always liked the idea of nachos but can?t say I have ever had any that actually lived up to my expectations. On Saturday night though I had a sudden craving for a chimichanga but didn?t feel like going out in the rain so ended up having pizza instead.
  15. Hope they stay as a Mexican and start delivering. There isn?t anywhere around that will bring you Mexican food is there?
  16. Yes I think Keef is right. Blue top man who bowled from the kit bag end was James. Correct me if I?m wrong here David but David Carnell bowled all his overs from the other end.

  18. It was good fun wasn?t it, even if I did go out to a bad decision made by a clearly bias umpire. I?ve been giving this a bit of thought though lads. Analysing the match an? all that, and I think I have come up with what gave them that 3 wicket advantage. Caps it was. They were all wearing caps. The only member of our team to be wearing a cap was Martin and he made 50. Now you if you take into consideration that fact that all their caps were matching too, well we clearly had no chance with our lack of headwear. Although I don?t fancy orange baseball caps personally. I think we could find something a bit more fitting. Berets or flat caps perhaps? Deer stalkers?
  19. I was going to support Italy but then I saw that Lozzyloz has already made the parmesan joke so I just don?t see the point anymore?
  20. I will shake the hand of anyone who manages to hack into the 176 and gets it to pronounce it like that.
  21. A song featured in the films Pump up the Volume and Fight Club and one I just watched, called Southland Tales (which is brilliant by the way) Ok so here is the: UK surf version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4ddpFDC63Y&feature=related and the version off the album: Doolittle ( I think ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToRwGzzlRiI and here they are recently on their ?we need cash? tour. Not great but Kim Deal still has the voice of an angel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5V3_u9i2vEc

  25. Oh that?s nice for the Gowlett. The lads took me to a bar that does a similar sort of thing a few nights before my wedding. It was very artistic, very cultural. I learnt an awful lot about Eastern Europe.
