  1. First one to the Clock House gets the drinks in.
  2. Well I?m too light hearted to take anything competitively so I shall be going along for the beer.
  3. Plough Caf? @11:30? Basically because belly-busting breakfasts of beans, bubble and blackpudding will brace the belly for beer before belting down Barry Road.
  4. Well I have quite a lot of work to do in the garden and around the house that I have scheduled in for this weekend and was hoping to ah stuff it I?m even boring myself now. I?ll be there!
  5. S'ok Sean we can stop off in the CPT halfway down to catch our breath.
  6. What time is this wee jog starting on Saturday?
  7. Don?t worry Annaj. I?ve got your back. I?m ironing my white shirt and spiking my hair as we speak.
  8. The Mag has WiFi and good Pizza going for it. This makes it a very good venue for WFP while the cricket is on. It is still not going to be the same as spending a weekday afternoon at the bar in the CPT while the sun streams in through the windows and the match unfolds on the screen above the door. ADrinking shooters with the bar staff at lunch time and passing the time of day with the daytime regulars.
  9. Do they have WiFi? I have some WFP to do this Summer. That reminds me, I have to sort my laptop battery.
  10. jke Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > (since the CPT, my local, has disbanded SKY > SPORTS until the football season starts up again)? It Has!?!?!? Well that bollocks? up my plans nicely. (6)
  11. Here?s the last one if anyone?s interested. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2008/jun/04/economicgrowth.banking If there is one thing that can be taken away from this series of articles it is this: ?It is time to remember that banks and other large corporations are creatures of law, and it is the public's right and duty to supervise them. Furthermore, they, the financial New Olympians, have had their chance. The result of letting them off the leash has been a disaster.?
  12. Oh and my rudeness is unacceptable. Welcome to East Dulwich and the Forum Ozzie.
  13. Oh and pets. A good pub should have a dog and/or a cat.
  14. Well I feel that the highbrow nature of the conversation lately is certainly reflected in the choice of venue. I am also relying on the fact that as we have not yet reached a point where sarcasm needs to be explained I will be spared a lynching this Friday.
  15. Nice people, both the punters and staff, make a good pub. Sure there are all the other things like location, amenities, selection of drinks, food etc. but if a pub ticks all of those boxes it attracts too many, ?not so nice people? to put it politely. This immediately disqualifies it from the first and foremost criteria. ?Tis a sad yet amusing irony.
  16. Feel Comfortable On Linoleum
  17. Aye. Me two. Although perhaps we shoudl start another thread in the Lounge about it. We need to decide on a date, route, which Spice Girls we are going to dress as. etc.
  18. It?s all about positioning mate. Position yourself correctly and they pick you up. Like a can of beans on a supermarket shelf.
  19. I didn?t see it but a colleague of mine did and we have been discussing it today. I did see a film on his life a few years ago though. Not sure if it is the same one though
  20. I know that right now England still have a few games to play against New Zealand. But who really cares about how they do against an obscure Welsh county anyway? The biggest question at the moment is whether the English sun will shine long enough for SA to win all the test matches this summer.
  21. Here?s the next instalment http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2008/jun/03/economics.policy Angry yet? And on another note. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/3753553.stm Because it is important to mark the passing of a legendary contributor to music.

Yeah I know. WTF indeed?!?!? Why don?t we start threads on equally gripping topics like, oh perhaps, the relative benefits of sensible shoes?
  23. I tend to buy from G&B because basically I don?t know much about wine. What I have found is that compared to the other choices at G&B I am pretty much guaranteed to get a good bottle even if I just pick one at random.
  24. Ever wonder where all our money is going? http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2008/jun/02/globaleconomy.globalrecession
  25. No it hasn't.
