  1. The ?New? side is well old already! With the newish upholstery I think the ?old? side should be the new ?new? side.
  2. Very true Madworld. They don?t make theme tunes like they used! It?s all hippidy-hop and devil worship these days. You mentioned Murder She Wrote. That show always disturbed me. I am convinced Jessica Fletcher is a very elaborate serial-killer.
  3. I think you will find many people with a similar opinion on this forum big b.
  4. It is an interesting question. In the world which we are currently building what should be considered the bare necessities for life to ensure a level playing field for future generations? Should they be more than just food, shelter, clothing and access to health and education?
  5. I'm a maybe too. Will have to see how tomorrow pans out.
  6. 5 miles will kill me. I can just about make it from the station to the Library without having to admit myself to hospital.
  7. It is still the Littlest Hobo. Unbeatable IMO
  8. Not on a Friday! ::o It's a holy day.
  9. Well it?s easy then. Get the poor to start providing services that the rich are willing to pay more money for. I think it is called capitalism.
  10. Some of us like grubby, ;-)
  11. ED has always seemed like a pretty "urban" suburb to me. But then I grew up in an old mining town in South Africa with a population of about 30 000 so my frame of reference is perhaps slightly different.
  12. And that last post sounds tautologous. Well it is actually. It doesn?t sound like anything really unless you read it out loud.
  13. Nope. Now that I'm sobering up a bit from last night it definitely sounds sanctimonious and self righteous.
  14. I surprised there is no mention of the effect the ginger babies have on immigration.
  15. Do tell Sean. Where about is this bar? It is an area (being in-between Westminster and the city) that I often meet friends in and we're always interested in slightly off the beaten track drinking holes.
  16. I know the feeling Madworld!
  17. Sorry reading over that again I think I sound a bit of a dick. :-$ I tend to get carried away early in the morning when my head is still fuzzy.
  18. People who have to propagate an image of being ?hard? tend to do so to cover up some feeling of inadequacy. Same as people who are c@nts in order to succeed in the political or business world do. I could strip, reassemble and fire a handgun when I was 10 years old, I can kick a football straight, I can handle myself when necessary and I?m pretty well educated but I feel no need to use these things to somehow validate my manhood or value to society. Although admittedly I now seem to be indulging in a little macho posturing. A person?s value is the value that those around them ascribe to them. Personally I?ve found that neither being ?hard? nor ?successful? influences this positively. They are just self indulgent states of being. Oh and I deal with government on a daily basis and do not approve of the way it functions at all but believe me, people do not get to the top by being soft.
  19. That explains a lot.
  20. Well put Bob. I much prefer the public sector which is filled with Guardian reading, over educated slackers.
  21. His criminality is no longer an issue Mockney as the Rule of Law in Britain has been superseded by the Rule of Apathy.
  22. Yeah correction. Sorry. Funny old game eh?
  23. *Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Personally, I'm an easily distracted, lazy c***, > as you can tell by my ceaseless forum postings. Me too bob. I am convinced it signifies intellectual superiority though. ;-)
  24. Hmm. Maybe I would earn a more if I was a bit more driven and didn?t spend all day on internet forums?.
  25. Ahhh. It is that time again when I have to start brushing up on my rugby knowledge so I can hold my own in the rugby conversations that people seem to spontaneously spring into when they hear my South African accent. I will follow this thread to keep up. I don?t really follow or know much about rugby. The only South African sports team I am properly up to speed with at the moment is the England Cricket team (who are not doing very well against India at the moment) My friends have assured me that the Bokke (As opposed to Bokka if I am to be pedantic. Sorry Spadetownboy) are pretty good at the moment and if they are in the final I will be there with bells on, Johnny-come-lately style as I was in 1995. Which I think is the last time they won the world cup.
