  1. Did the WHO publish that for some kind of health initiative or is it a challenge? Is there going to be a yearly trophy is what I want to know.
  2. Better than a bad Monday morning Sean! Hope it's not too painful. Oh and will you look at that. It is now Friday afternoon. :)-D
  3. You know I?m so ignorant and must apologise for the offence and socio-economic damage my ignorance has caused. I didn?t realise that in order to support local businesses I should be shopping in Peckham and Nunhead. I fear that as newcomers to the area we have been insensitive to local tradition and culture. When I get home tonight I think Mrs B and I should perhaps have a little talk about cutting down on our dinner parties so as not to unnecessarily aggravate the indigenous population.
  4. One could make a sliding scale with PUB on one end and BAR on the other. Some places are very clearly one or the other but there are plenty that are somewhere in-between or that slide up or down depending on the time of day or even the time of week. I think there are a number of factors the affect an establishments pubby or barriness including the smell of the gent?s loos and the amount of hair gel used by the staff. I quite like the idea of the sliding scale. I think I shall call it the PUB-BAR. Anyone handy with Flash?
  5. I know what you mean! Bastards! Last night I went to the corner shop to pick up some milk. It should have only taken a couple of minutes as the shop is a block away from my house but: First I had to walk 2 blocks to where my car was parked. It could have been on the pavement outside my house but apparently the pavement is ?reserved? for ?pedestrians?. Anyway I then had to drive around the one way system to the shop but do you think I could park? Could I fuck! There is plenty of space on the road outside the shop but you can?t park their because it is something called a ?bus stop?. Believe me I?ve tried. Apparently when pedestrians aren?t j-walking or clogging up the pavements they travel around on theses ?bus? things sweating and rubbing their shoulders up against each other. It?s filthy I tell you. So I had to drive half a mile up lordship lane before I found somewhere to park and walk for ten minutes to the shop! I?m not even going to start on my trip home. Let?s just say it made Odysseus?s famed journey seem like an easyjet flight to Athens!

  7. IMO people speed in built up areas ?cos they?re either too stupid to realise how dangerous it is. (Not surprising when most drivers don?t even know how an automobile actually works.) Or they are just cunt who feel they have something to prove. Or a mixture of both. Either way it is inexcusable. Sorry I don?t mean to rant and be off topic but it is a pet bug bear of mine. I?m a motorcar enthusiast who loves driving but never ceases to be shocked by the way so many people approach it.
  8. Oh is that height order. I thought the boat was just sinking.

Up and coming neighbourhood with local amenities and mod-cons literally coming out your arse. We better get over there quick though because we?re had a lot of interest.? And then show them a place in Peckham Rye. Or is that "Dulwich Borders"?
  10. I didn't realise it kept mossies away. Is there much truth in that?
  11. Or perhaps not. It's working now!
  12. Well I don't mind if my Marmite is served internally or externally really. Your link Mockney:-S Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@independent.co.uk and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. 13. Any of this Marmite that is being enjoyed on toast with peanut butter around the borough coming out of the new upside down squeezy jar? Apparently the consistency is slightly thinner. Marmite?s website sings its praises but I am unsure.
  14. Personally I?ve never liked being hit in the eye with pizza but each to their own.
  15. And you've just played out that song backwards I believe.
  16. Can anyone give me a report on the upside-down squeezy Marmite jar? I have been reluctant to try it as I think marmite is too sticky for a squeezy container and you won?t be able to scrape the last bits out.
  17. Wots a girth then? Some kind of imperial battle droid?

    Great Gigs

I don't believe a word of it! Led Zeppelin are all dead and were replaced by automatons years ago.
  19. Careful, next thing someone is going to mention the length of his light saber.
  20. One of the few benefits I?ve found about my catholic upbringing is that when god botherers knock on the door I just sternly tell them ?I?m catholic? and they generally bugger off. It helps if you look half cut and sound slightly aggressive too. I wonder if the same will work on sales people/con artists.
  21. I?ve complained about my post problems a while ago. So the postie complained to me about complaining about him. So I complained about him complaining to me about me complaining about him. I haven?t heard back yet? Since then the new wireless router that I ordered online was left on the doorstep. Admittedly I didn?t have to go to the sorting office on Saturday morning but it could have been nicked. I am also waiting for 2 other parcels that should have arrived at least a week ago. Now admittedly these could have been lost anywhere along the way but so many things have gone missing that I am deeply suspicious that the problem is with the ED postal service.
  22. It would be nice if the library had a lounge/coffee-bar area. Imagine access to 1000s of books, a comfortable armchair, good coffee (or tea or whatever), and a view of the garden. I could spend days loosing myself in useless information. Some wicker chairs outside would be nice for summer too and give me somewhere to smoke.
  23. I know coppers are exempt from the Highway Code. They are subject to internal disciplinary action if they break it but not criminal prosecution. I don't think the same applies to the council?s hired revenue collecting henchmen though. They are a private business so should have to abide by the same laws as everyone else. Best check though. Perhaps the Citizen?s Advice Bureau may be able to shed some light on the matter.
  24. Yeah why do I weigh myself in kg and food in lbs? :-S
  25. I'm sure it's been done.
