  1. ;-) tongue in cheek there. I love the place even if some of the upholstery is in need of a good burning.
  2. Architecturally or as a biohazard?
  3. I do distance in miles and speed in km/hr, which can really bugger things up sometimes.
  4. Funny question coming from a fish.
  5. I know about the East Dulwich Baths I just think the area could do with another one as there are significantly more people living here now that there were 100 years ago.
  6. It really could do with an indoor public swimming pool. I feel London is generally under catered for when it comes to indoor pools.
  7. Sounds good to me!
  8. So I?ve been reading the news on the Beeb?s tinterwebsite and apparently the EU has given up on trying to convert Britain to the Metric System. What are people?s thoughts on the benefits of having a universal system of measurement that is used worldwide? Growing up in a country that had made the change from Imperial to Metric shortly before I was born Metric was used officially but people still seemed to use Imperial in everyday life. It has led to a situation where many people now seem to use Imperial for certain measurement and Metric for others. I for instance measure height in Imperial but weight in Metric. Which gets confusing when I?m filling out the forms at the doctors.
  9. Ok. Everyone! Listen up! I expect plenty of free drinks and gifts and attention as you all neglected to get me anything for Alan?s birthday yesterday.
  10. Fine. I'll celebrate your birthday for you. You aren't invited. So there! that'll learn you for being so bah humbug.
  11. like what you said alan.
  12. Don?t believe I?m getting into this but: If the assumption turns out to be warranted even though it was made without the critical deduction that may have been necessary for the situation.
  13. Glad you said that before I went and suggested naked Thursdays Keef.
  14. And see where it went. tsk tsk.
  15. I few years back when I was looking for flats in SE London (and eventually found one in ED (tu)) I was shown around places in Brockley by an estate agent who didn?t have a car. She was probably about 18 years old and chain smoked as we walked around the streets from place to place. Completely unprofessional but I quite enjoyed it. Except when it started to rain and there was the time when she stopped to have a row with someone who I think was her ex/boyfriend. It was pretty good for someone who was moving in from outside the area as I got a feel for what the place was like.
  16. Well I?ll just naively carry on assuming the best of my friends and family. I find most of the time it?s warranted.
  17. Yeah I really don?t know anyone who celebrates peoples birthdays because they feel like they are under some kind of obligation to do so. People do it because they want to and they enjoy each other?s company.
  18. What!? I'm going to start telling people I live in West Nunhead!
  19. I feel that a thread about a collective from ED buying the CPT and turning into a den of iniquity is a topical issue.
  20. ::o Shocking!
  21. They certainly don?t create an impression of exclusivity. You tend to find them in tacky night clubs with sticky floors and crap music populated by guys with spiky hair and white button-up shirts and orange girls swilling alcopops.
  22. The problem I have is I always tip them and tend to make friends with them as the night goes on and then get more generous as I drink more and by the end of the night I?m broke coz I gave all my money to some guy in the toilets. :-S
  23. Bog Trolls, can't abide them myself.
  24. Those VWs do look horrid though don't they? Don't they realise that giving them those paintjobs just puts people off? I doubt they attract more clients. If they were just normal colours no one would care.
  25. The fact that so many houses have been split into flats is a major factor. If you took the general terraced houses in most of ED you could probably make provision for off street parking outside each one (as has been done to many) and still leave space for one space on the street for every 2 houses. You would have to walk around people?s cars on some of the pavements though. If everyone then only had 1 car it would all be fine and dandy. Unfortunately it?s not that simple.
