  1. In the police Station! Or on the site where the police station used to be. :))
  2. Mark. The Entrance is to the left of the bar through the door, passed the men?s bogs and up the stairs. Unless they have changed it in the last 3 months. I inadvertently used the one to the right of the bar once and the chef got quite irate. So I used it again to wind her up. I really shouldn?t have done so. It nearly got nasty.
  3. To maintain this thread's integrity I will not respond to that Keef. No matter how much the voices are screaming out for me to. This is about a new trader on Lordship Lane and Eddy Izard has no place in it. Dammit!
  4. Iceland do cake. Six inna box for-a squid!

    *offers a significant handshake* ;-)
  6. What?s wrong with flared trousers? I have a pair that I?m saving specially for the forum party on Friday! I never got the opportunity to wear them in the 70s and feel I missed out. Anyway in 1990 when I was a morose teenager a kind family friend gave me a much listened to record in a tatty sleeve. It was called Never Mind the Bollocks and it had a major influence on how my musical tastes developed.

What does the England Cricket Board have to do with any of this Mockney?
  8. Do you really want to go there Keef. ;-) Anyway does this mean that they are getting rid of the Woolwich hole in the wall? It is already a pain in the arse trying to get money out on a Saturday. We need more ATMs on LL.
  9. If I remember correctly from my birthday party it is a headphone jack. Although I could be wrong as the whole day is a bit fuzzy and my mate was in charge of the music.
  10. It think you will find the correct name is Mumbai. Which kinda buggers up their alliteration. One would have to change it to something like The Mumbai Motorcycle Massive perhaps?
  11. Are you being brandist Mark? Are other makes of MP3 player not welcome?
  12. My cynicism aside I too am going to make the effort to go. Not least because as a teenager growing up in SA if you had told me that one day I would get the chance to go a sex pistols gig I would never have believed you in a million years.
  13. What does "Mark One" do when it's at home?
  14. I think perhaps the comments on the Led Zeppelin thread regarding how a band should be remembered apply equally in this instance. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7000180.stm
  15. Surely it is the government?s duty as the nation?s representatives to honour this covenant?
  16. Perhaps you should ask the population of Baghdad that.
  17. 79 quid a month to ride a bicycle that goes nowhere! :-S
  18. I walked past today and noticed that there is a public notice from the council up, dated 12 September and saying that they have received an application for planning permission to demolish 549 Lordship Lane, which is a grade 2 listed building, and put up 6 self contained housing units (which I?m assuming is developer speak for flats.) It went on to say that the council are of the opinion that planning permission should not be granted. The reference if you want to write in for or against is 07-AP-0705. Personally I?m neutral. It is a lovely building but it is literally crumbling and there is shoring up to stop it from falling down. There is also too little housing of a liveable standard in this city and we can use all we can get. Although I would hate to see another ugly block of flats go up. Ideally I would say they should redevelop it but by putting up a building of equal attractiveness as an homage to the original and not pollute our senses with anymore of this dross that is peddled as architecture. (This is just me being opinionated and cantankerous.)

Is that your Mustang I keep seeing parked on Lordship Lane?

*Sits cross legged on the floor next to the fireplace. Staring up in wide eyed wonder as Jah recounts tales of Legends? performances from the comfort of his armchair.* I quite like Oasis actually. So there. *Sticks tongue out*

You know I really feel like I can?t contribute to this thread when you have lucky buggers like Jah being all ?the Stones? this and ?the Clash? that.

That would actually probably work pretty well Mockney.:)) Asset: unfortunately not. Although I am of the opinion that I dress fucking cool! An opinion that is inexplicably not shared by my friends. In fact Mrs B recently likened my attire to that of a geography teacher. ?What?s wrong with geography teachers?? I said, ?If you had listened to yours more you wouldn?t have misdirected me at that last traffic-light and we wouldn?t be stuck in this traffic-jam.? The swelling in my left ear is starting to go down. But I digress? I?ll shut up now shall I.

Nope but you have put a smile on my face imagining the Wurzels getting up to play a gig in front of a bunch of spiky haired, pointy shoed Camdenites.

    Great Gigs

This is a long shot but I?m trying to remember the name of a band I saw at the Bull and Gate in Kentish town a few months ago and really enjoyed. They are a 3 piece but with 2 bassists and no guitar and they play a set bordering on standup comedy. Crude jokes and music that could be likened to Primus. The singer spoke with what sounded like it could have been a West Country accent. Anyone know who I?m talking about?
  25. Steady on now folks. You can?t just go jumping into a group hug willy-nilly. These things take a bit of preparing for. We have people who ?work from home? on this forum and who are undoubtedly sitting around in their undies. Anyone got any Lynx?
