  1. You cant' really second guess Tooley St, unfortunately La. E.g. they recently allowed House of Tippler to close so that it could be replaced with an extraordinarily large block of flats and a shop selling trinkets. That was the last decent bar with live music on Lordship Lane and it is gone forever.
  2. The leak is coming up through the road in four different places. It has been like this for nearly a month. Some kind soul keeps unblocking the drain.
  3. If the residents of Malbourne Grove don't want this market then I will vote in favour of it. Let's see how they like having their street ruined by people who live elsewhere.
  4. Who is left after these categories of patients? Spritely healthy people who don't need a doctor at all? People with long term conditions: "Requires improvement" Families, children and young people: "Requires improvement" Working age people (including those recently retired and students): "Requires improvement"
  5. James Barber also listened when a consultation proved that closing Melbourne Grove would be disastrous and took it no further.
  6. this Mayor doesn't seem to understand that point. You would think he might have learned a lesson from this own bitter disappointment at the absolute failure of the ULEZ to raise the revenue he needed to bail out TFL.
  7. Boris Johnson will not be the Prime Minister by the time the local elections come round. He will be long gone.
  8. Https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/jan/18/heather-watson-australian-open-tennis-second-round-but-dart-crashes-out
  9. I see the Crown and Greyhound have asked for double yellow lines outside their pub so they can get cars in and out more easily.
  10. It makes them look just as bent as the Tories / 10 Downing St in my view.
  11. Are you saying they will close the children's playground for this, during half term week?
  12. "I do think they'll question why we did so little to discourage car use generally." I disagree with that too. In about 15 years from now cars will be fully automated and electric. The internal combustion engine will be a museum piece. There will be very little pollution and no road traffic accidents whatsoever. And in the future beyond that people will use personal aviation machines which will no doubt still irritate all the penny farthing fetishists. But you can't hold back progress. It's innate and essential to our survival.
  13. I don't think future generations will judge anyone on the LTNs in East Dulwich either way. Its a microscopically small project that negatively impacts a miniscule number of people and positively benefits even fewer people. No one outside the people living here, now will care about this issue or comment on it at all in ten years time.
  14. Labour came knocking on my road yesterday. Told them to get stuffed, it was too late to listen now. They didn't seem all that surprised tbh.
  15. Sorry Thunderblue, I have had a message separately but can't share it here for technological ineptness However this is the explanation: https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/rape-did-not-happen-in-peckham-say-police/
  16. Beulah demonstrates perfectly how selfish these people are.
  17. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said: ?The world?s first Ultra Low Emission Zone is an essential measure to help improve air quality in our city, protect the health of Londoners, and lengthen our lead as the greatest city on earth. ... Together we can ensure everyone who lives, works in, or visits our city has the cleanest possible air to breathe.? It's another flawed Boris Johnson idea that local Labour government have adopted with glee abandon.
  18. An Ultra Low Emission Zone that has pollution levels so high that people are asked to stay inside and not to exercise. What a stonking success. Well done.
  19. This is very upsetting. I do hope she is as well as she can be in all the circumstances and has access to everything she needs.
  20. Cyclists seem to be very, very selfish round here.
  21. I don't think any of the people that petition is addressed to are in a position to do anything about it. Helen Hayes tried before and things have got worse not better.
  22. They aren't kingmaker but they can help co-ordinate a tactical vote to drain the swamp. If you're worried about where their supporters come from, you can check on their own map:https://www.onedulwich.uk/supporters There are more than enough supporters there to swing the vote one way or another.
  23. I want to see the Lib Dems get out of the blocks early with some sensible policies that all residents buy in to. They are beating Labour and the Tories elsewhere and are much better resourced than an independent would be to win and to bring back community interaction into council policy.
