The term "hot press" is probably used in your house - (Irish speak for linen cupboard) - am I right Mockney?

  4. I, too watched jealously from the next down section of Upland Rd. Last year someone on Crebor street threw a fab street party complete with jazz band, which I also missed (I was away) - so jealous of that one as well. A couple of sets of my elderly neighbours have had parties however, and they have been a total hoot. My 82 yr old next door neighbour threw one for her 80th and it was comletely raucous - she was telling me afterwards that she had a pair of pick knickers hanging from the light fitting in her front room!!!
  5. Mr Wee Quinnie is asking: Are there any motorcyclists out there that fancy Sunday morning blasts down to Surrey or anywhere else you know of with decent roads?
  6. Linda Barker down at Northcross Rd market on Saturday afternoon.
  7. I am having real problems with feral pigeons at the moment - there are loads of them congregating on my roof, and next doors roof. Not only is there lots of nasty poo around, but there are lots of yucky feathers also. I have lived in ED for over 8 years, and it is only fairly recently that these dudes have arrived. I have a couple of bird feeders hanging in the garden aimed at little birds - however the pigeons have taken to landing on them and with wings outstpread shaking the feeders so violently that loads of seed then falls on the ground. Gah! I know that the obvious solution would be to remove the feeders - but is there any other way anyone can think of getting rid of them, short of resorting to a shot gun? Minging, I know.

(Joke, I'll be > orf mate, can't be blotting my spotless copy book > now can I??!) CWALD - are you back yet? How did you fare? I was down there myself on Sunday for the protest march. I must say I found it quite frightening finding myself and the group I was with surrounded my police on horseback at one point. The police seemed needlessly confrontational.
  20. Just remembered another fave: Namby pamby.
  21. Good on you CWALD.
