  1. No I was with big Quinnie - we were standing between the fireworks people and the people with the loud kids. A dog ran into us at one point. Forgot to bring any champers - but it didnt matter - had a ton of whisky when I got home. Lovely.
  2. ...still not finished your Open Uni coursework that you mentioned when starting this very thread!:'(
  3. Wasn't it great up on Dawson Heights last night. Fantastic views - would def do it again next year. PS - It's taken some time, but I am finally up to my 100th post. Hurrah!

Chinese... Thai Peckham Rye Hotel is good, I agree. Curry, ok. Chinese - many seem unaware that oyster sauce is not vegetarian. Thai - v. suspicious that there is often shrimp paste lurking in the curry base.
  5. The third rule of veggie club is no bready veggie bangers and mash. Urgh! Good one Figgins - I have been thinking of starting this thread myself, esp. as the pub nosh is so rubbish for veggies.
  6. Hey! I do that too, (so I do). spadetownboy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > wee quinnie Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > "WHAATTT???" - in the context of "Why are you > > looking at me like that?" > > > > Also, unsurprisingly, I have a terrible habit > of > > attaching "wee" to every noun, regardless of > > stature. > > > im like you quinney i drop wee into everything, and > always say end up by saying so i am or so you > are,but thats a norn iron thing so it is.

  8. Actually, another one that I do, mostly unintentionally: When someone gives me a whole lot of verbal nonsense, I just look at them in an uncomprehending way, and emit, "Buh!" I look a bit like a sheep when this happens.
  9. Oh - forgot to mention. Would anyone out there like to finish my OU homework, cos I really can't be a*sed.
  10. (in my case) Supposed to be a) Cleaning/getting ready for the impending relatives arriving b) Doing my exercise DVDs c) Doing my Open University coursework Today of course, it's d) All of the above.
  11. "WHAATTT???" - in the context of "Why are you looking at me like that?" Also, unsurprisingly, I have a terrible habit of attaching "wee" to every noun, regardless of stature.
  12. I noticed that they are painting the floor in the old Anterior Trading a couple of days ago. Does anyone know if there is a new business about to open?
  13. I noticed the whole prob with the light pollution the other night when I was walking up Lordship Lane - Foxtons of course, is the worst offender, however there are also the other estate agents with their giant tellies left on, and Somerfield et al, illuminating their interiors. Oh and of course at the moment, everyone has their stupid Xmas lights left on presumably ALL NIGHT, including, I am surprised to say, Health Matters!!
  14. At the moment I am walking up to Sainsburys in F Hill and dropping off my tetrapaks there. Its a hassle, but better than binning them.
  15. Actually, I emailed the council about this very matter not long ago, and this is what they told me: Thank you for your recent recycling enquiry > regarding tetra paks. At present our waste > collection services are being handed-over to Veolia > Environmental Services which means our flexibility > in expanding our services has been significantly > reduced until this transition is complete. 16. I have tried doing a cartwheel recently, and God! I could really feel the heavyness of my big fat tumtum dragging me down. Very wierd feeling.
  17. Hope you have a wonderful day, Keef and Mrs Keef.
  18. The women's stuff is really nice. I can't understand tho' why they've not had a sale yet - I have been waiting to purchase some summery stuff that to me seemed a tad pricey. Any thoughts on this anyone? PS - Brendan - you amuse me.
  19. I absolutely love the BBC, however I really cannot see why they need both BBC3 AND BBC4. If they weeded out all the repeats, would they have enough to fill even one of these channels? By the way, I am loving Flight of the Conchords.
  20. We too used Wates (ED) to let our house last year, and we were lucky enough to get a fab tenant paying top whack through the Village branch. (?200 pm more rent* than we had been quoted by Winkworth, Bushells and Haart). Whilst this was great, we felt that communication between the branches was pretty poor. Once they'd got their share of the money, every time we rang them they tried to palm us off with the other branch. But overall, it was worth it for the extra dosh. Mind you - it was a pretty straightforward deal, and they weren't really tested to any major extent. *Cleary achieved due to the exposure in the village I assume.

However, one thing that was REALLY ANNOYING was the way everyone kept saying things like "End of." and other cliches with the last word taken off. It really would make you want to boke.
