  1. Yeh but Brendan, the Gordster has lovely hair.
  2. Macroban...what does your link mean? Sorry if I am being a bit dense.
  3. the comic sans ms typeface. Really really annoys me.
  4. DM - you have completely hit the nail on the head with DC. EXACTLY!!
  5. Sean - I know waht you mean about the white bread, as it happens. I think then the bread maker might be right then. Oh there are the white loaves (?1.75), bottom rack in the Cheese Block. I implore you....stay away from the "white bread" white bread! (Where is Pat the Baker when you need him? - I liked the waxy paper)

Delicious!! I was going to add this myself! I must concur this is v yummy - also it is good to add some coriander. (here is a top tip courstesy of "Cooking like Mummyji" - when you buy fresh coriander, wash it and chop it up and put in freezer - it still works fine).
  7. Glad you all had a good night. Myself and Mr Wee Quinnie were intending to come, but have been laid flat by stinking colds. Put us down for the next outing.
  8. Sean, at the risk of being shot down in flames here - you can buy really great bread down on LL. - altho I admit it is pricey. I have a breadmaker, which is perfectly fine - but I actually prefer the stuff from LL. My top picks are 1. Sourdough from EDD (I am too embarrassed to say how much it costs, but it does last a few days). 2. The seedy ones from Cheese Block at ?1.75 Mind you it is prob cheaper to use the breadmaker.
  9. Are they not pretty much the same as the White Stuff but with a few candlesticks for sale etc.?
  10. Cheers Pickle - yes I meant the dog walking track. Its probably a bit quagmire-ish for a run as yet.
  11. Oh well at least he binned off the idea of the supercasinos.
  12. Does anyone know how long the running track is in the park?
  13. On the few times I have been there I have found it extremely off puttingly noisy.
  14. If you like it you should definitely consider becoming a Friend of the Gallery - since it is a very good deal, and it pays for itself v quickly. Having said that, some of the exhibitions are better than others Friends of the Uffizi (sp?) last year was brilliant for example.
  15. People, people, people..forget flaying yourselves alive during the month of January. Why not just eat normally - ie 3 meals a day, no eating between meals, apart from fruit. Oh yes - and drink if you want, but maybe just a couple of glasses on maybe..2 or 3 days a week. You have kidneys dont you? They'll do all the detoxing for you themselves.
  16. Green and Blues/smbs/cheese block being shut. Oh well at least the latter 2 are opening soon (i presume). Getting mighty hungry and thirsty here.
  17. Wow! That's really beautiful Mockney. Also, there are a couple of really great pics on Dulwich Mums blogspot at the moment - the Millenium Wheel on New Years Eve. What fun! http://dulwichmum.blogspot.com/
  18. Instead of telling people to "shut the f..up" I shall instead be shouting "Can it, you nit!" - a la Violet Beauregard in the original (and far superior) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory film.
  19. I've just been down in Allders and Croydon, and was amazed to see them selling the following celebrity perfumes: Alex Curran, Jade Goody, Chanelle out of BB, (you know the one who wants to be Posh spice) Jordan Other ludicrous people. I am sure there were others, equally obscurc. Now, the question is: have i turned my back for 5 minutes, and suddenly everyone in the entire world has a perfume for sale? Why not me? Am I simply not orange-faced enough to merit one? I propose then that everyone on the forum come up with a name for their own perfume. I thought first of all that the name "Buh!" summed me up to a tee, then I realised, No! My perfect perfume name would be.."Oui Oui". For WEE Quinnie y'unnerstand.
  20. "Thinking outside the box" and any other nasty corporate speak - esp. in a social setting.......... Just ghastly.

CHEEKY! That's 6! You can only save one of your five. As for picking 8 Peckham Rose - no! (Now you see why there was such a heated debate at the Xmas table mentioned in my original post). ;-) Also, I am intrigued by everyone's postings...mine are all about practicality/versatility, but I am getting the vibe that the rest of you are going for favourites - although I am definitely not getting the whole swede/turnip fetish.
  22. A friend of mine was telling me they went to a Xmas dinner do with someones veggie family and a VERY VERY heated debate ensued over the topic of.....desert island vegetables, (along the lines of "desert island discs"). So, without further ado... WHAT ARE YOUR 5 DESERT ISLAND VEGETABLES? Mine are: 1. Onions 2. Potatoes 3. Spinach 4. Mushrooms 5. Tomatoes* * Ok - I know that technically they are fruit, rather than vegetables, but I'm not gonna put them in a fruit salad.
  23. I was in the fab Gowlett recently, and I am sure I saw a dad helping his kids with their homework - which I thought was quite amusing.
