  1. Nice one Mockney - cheers!
  2. Does anyone know... If I plant a clove of garlic in the ground, will it grow into a bulb - and if so how would you know when the bulb is ready for harvesting?
  3. The smoking debate on the other thread has reminded me of a quote from AA Gill: "Having a non smoking section is restaurants is like having a non pissing section in swimming pools"
  4. Great - can't wait to get down there!! Hurrah - finally made it to my 200th post. I really must catch up with the rest of you.
  5. Sounds great. When you say you are doing lots of veggie options, does this mean that you don't have anchovies/shrimp paste in your veggie sauces? (Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but quite often when I go looking for Oriental sauces, these are included).
  6. Is it just me or does anyone else find him very strange? He's an MP, but seems to like going onto TV just to big up his relationship with the Cheeky Girl. (Sad for her that she is only every known as "One of the Cheeky girls"). Also a friend of mine used to be in a creative writing group with L.O. back in Belfast 20 odd years ago, and thought he was a bit of a git back then.
  7. Thanks for that Anna. We are going to Klimt in June, reasoning that as it is before school hols (we think), that it should be a bit less busy. Going in August it would probably be a total bunfight!
  8. Possibly - it's a bit pot luck-ish I guess - like it is in the charity shops.
  9. Oh right! Given that I have to ask the question - I guess that rules me out as a football fan.

  11. Mr Wee Quinnie and myself are planning on going up to L'pool in June to see the Klimt exhibition at Tate L'pool. Has anyone got any suggestions of other must see/dos while we are up there?
  12. Ah - thank you.
  13. I own Billy Idol's old amp.
  14. Have you looked in Grace and Favour? They do a lot of ex-Boden and such like in their second hand clothes bit at the back of the store.
  15. What and where is the Blake mural, prithee?
  16. "Can it, you nit!" - Violet Beauregarde in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) - far superior to the Burton remake.

Yes Tina - that is one of the delights of living in the province, the cheap haircuts, and if you need clothing alterations it costs tuppence ha'penny. I always try and save up any haircutting for visits to Derry. Although maybe I will give the old lady people on Cheltenham Rd (wherever that is) a go.

Actually, (sadly), one of my favourite bits in the Saturday Guardian magazine, is that bit where they tell you how to get coffee stains out of your tablecloths and stuff like that. Other stuff I forgot to mention, is realising you are behaving like your mum or dad. (Scowling when people don't shut the door, that sort of thing).
  19. I keep rounding my age up to the next one - so I feel even older than I am. (39) I have started using my specs as magnifying glasses for reading. (Before you suggest I go to the optician - I got new glasses in November). I don't know what the hell people are talking about. I have never heard of various people who seem to be in the paper/on the radio a lot. When I get out of bed in the morning my hair looks a bit like Russell Brands - and I keep forgetting to comb it!! Have I got any more signs to look out for? Please don't say I am going to start rushing home to catch "The Archers" omnibus.
