froggy
Why a pointless statement ed_pete. Or am I missing the point? Can you clarify perhaps? taper
My god, it is magnificent. There's food in there you would not believe. Manchego wrapped in fancy foreign ham and stuff. unbelievable. The best thing that's happened around here for a long time. Louisa
Been in again, found a really love cote du rhone which I will probably stick with my roast lamb today. Still disappointed at the scale of the place, it just lacks something other M&S branches seem to have. Can't put my finger on it. I think I just miss Iceland deals most of all, something marks seem to be lacking. Louisa. MissKing
Well I'm very happy indeed we finally have an M&S! I prefer M&S to Waitrose also, but wouldn't mind having both in the area. Rosetta
A Waitrose would definitely bring more traffic and parking problems. East Finchley fought to keep out Waitrose for those reasons. Sue
We went in around 11am today hoping to get some food for a picnic lunch, only to find huge numbers of empty shelves :(I am glad they are doing so well, but hope they will soon be able to predict demand a bit better.I highly recommend the lemon drizzle cake, which is delicious! Bic Basher
I hope it's only a temporary issue with stock levels as custom levels to a normal pace, otherwise residents will complain about deliveries. edhistory
Were not the time window for deliveries and their maximum daily number specified in the planning permission documents?M&S would not do anything else. first mate
BB! Surprise, surprise. Yesterday a delivery vehicle was parked up on the road and path and unloading. He did not attempt to get into the very reduced service entrance. If this is regular it will have a negative effect. The delivery vehichle for M&S was smaller than the usual Co-op delivery vehicles.. .. but still on main road and close to bus stop. The rear access to the new store is simply impractical. snooks
Very disappointed in M&S, went in for the first time yesterday.........2 staff weren't able to tell me where something was, the shelves were almost empty and much smaller than I imagined - back to Beckenham........only moaning Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/103748-ms-on-lordship-lane/page/10/#findComment-1043076 Share on other sites
bil
Potential site for a waitrose would be the derelict site/ former pub site opposite the Bathstore (other end of LL at the south circular). General car and delivery vehicle traffic is less likely to be an issue as it's always busy on the South Circular. LondonMix
Charlton has a Waitrose and M&S. It doesn't make you push nor does a lack of one make you shabby.
