ok sounds good, yes I was going to walk to one of the parks anyway for my daily overdue waddle to try and bounce the baby out....

See you all then in the cafe, fingers crossed the weather is nice still, it would be lovely to meet your (big) little one bellenden bear!

Hi girls :)

Only just joined this thread.

Anyone due around the same date?

It is my firt and I don't know many people in the area so happy to meet for morning coffees, lunches, walks ect.

I could meet anytime on Friday 8 April or Monday 11 April.

Anyone around? With or without babies ;)

Alexa

Hello, I have a two week old baby boy, my first. I'd love to meet up with Mum's in the area, please let me know ... Alexa I am going to Townley Road Breastfeeding cafe thing this Monday, but I could meet up the week after ... not on a Monday. I am up for any coffee mornings etc.

Jenni

Hi Jenni and Alexa,

I think the silence might be down to a few people giving birth at the moment or being induced! But subject to any surprises, I should be around this week. I could make Tuesday morning if that's good for others?

Looking forward to meeting you, and congratulations Jenni on the new arrival!

Hello spring baby ladies, just to let you know baby f arrived yesterday, 13 days late after 3 sweeps, 2 acupuncture sessions, gallons of rasperry leaf tea, too many curries & pineapples to count, lots of long walks, driving over speed bumps, twice daily clary sage oil tummy massage etc. I gave up on it all on sat & accepted we were going to have to be induced on mon so went out for fish & chips & mushy peas & low & behold along he came yesterday in a lovely home birth! Yey!

Hope to catch up in a few weeks, with hopefully some of our other new arrivals x

Me too...!

Anyways - would any of the toddler encumbered amongst us (or anyone else who doesn't mind keeping their beady eye out for small rioting people) fancy a take away coffee park meet one afternoon after nap? My coping strategy for life with two is to get out as much as possible but I am struggling on my own at the parks with toddler and baby (imagine runaway small boy with ball/need to chase/baby in pram scenario) and feel that strength in numbers may help....

Snowboarder, I could possible do Friday (unless I have a baby of course, something which I have just about given up on). I am still a bit traumatised from waddle-chasing my runaway toddler across Peckham Rye last week and trying to carry her, bag, football, dolly in pram etc to get to my midwife appointment. But I will give it a go, perhaps more effectively as a baby watcher rather than toddler chaser. Or perhaps they behave better in packs?

Will also be at the Wooden Circle thing tomorrow, weather permitting.

Thanks ladies, I feel so lucky to have had him at home & truly thought we wouldn't make it which makes it all the more special

don't worry bb, she will come in her own good time, just relax and don't reply to all the messages from well meaning friends & family asking if she has arrived yet! Oh & perhaps try the mushy peas at sea cow !-)

Thanks again snowboarder for all the pillows etc! They were really handy!

Hope to get out & about at some point over the next few weeks & hopefully we will have a mini yaklett & mini bear as well by then :-)

Good luck ladies x

    • Quite a few going off tonight. Diwali is over, or so I thought. Anyone know what the special occasion is?
    • I got this  interesting email today. At least some (albeit apparently very few) shoplifters seem to have been arrested, though I wonder what the criteria were. Obviously that is only the ones arrested as a result of this particular initiative. Met Engage Logo Joint Partnership Success – Operation Roscoea, Southwark We’re pleased to share the success of Operation Roscoea, a joint partnership anti-social behaviour (ASB) initiative carried out in Southwark last week. This multi-agency operation saw eight partner representatives from six support organisations conducting outreach patrols alongside officers from our Trust, Confidence and Engagement Team. These joint efforts led to numerous new referrals into support services, ensuring vulnerable individuals are connected with the help they need. Neighbourhood policing teams also carried out joint patrols with Southwark Council wardens, who now hold newly designated enforcement powers. This enhanced collaboration has strengthened our collective ability to respond to ASB and community concerns. Operational highlights included: Six arrests made by officers from North Southwark Town Centre Team, St George’s, North Walworth, Faraday, Newington Ward, Chaucer, and the Proactive Crime Team: 2 for possession of a Section 5 firearm (CS spray) 1 for possession of Class A and B drugs 1 individual wanted for theft 2 for shoplifting ASB enforcement activity included: 2 Community Protection Notices issued to persistent offenders Numerous intelligence reports submitted to support ongoing investigations This operation is a testament to the dedication and teamwork of our local officers and partner agencies. Thank you to everyone involved for your continued commitment to making Southwark safer and more resilient. We look forward to building on this momentum in future deployments. • I've seen it in the same place the past two Fridays. I'm assuming it's some sand that's left over from when the old sand filters failed. When that happened there was lots of sand on the bottom. I'm guessing it'll only go if they use a pool vacuum to clean the bottom.
    • Maybe because you would have thought such an incident  would have been publicised, or  someone on here would know what it was? On the face of it it seems odd, especially if they were on blues and twos, if there was no serious  reason for it. Unless, as I said, it was some kind of training exercise?
