Can't recommend Andy aka Andyman enough. He's a great find for anyone looking for a handyman to do any kind of job. In my case he came and dismantled a wardrobe and some bathroom furniture, carrying it all downstairs. He also came to my rescue at short notice when I had an emergency issue with my front door.

I'll be calling on Andy again to plumb/fit a new loo and basin in the bathroom as he seems to be able to lay his hands to most things.

And most importantly - he is reliable - if he says he is going to do a job - he will show up and do it (and go the extra mile). This is not always the case.

Another recommendation for Andy. He did some odd jobs for us a few years ago and was clean, tidy & reliable. When I was looking for a kitchen fitter, I gave him a call and his quote was very reasonable.

Andy, along with his helpful team did everything to fit our new kitchen; including ripping out the old one, plastering, painting, fitting the kitchen, plumbing and sealing it all. Andy also recommended an electrician to do all the electrics who was equally as reliable and reasonably priced.

Andy was clean and tidy throughout with minimal disruption, as he made sure we always had at least a fridge plugged in!he was friendly and kept me updated on the progress.

Will certainly be asking for his help again in the future.

Thanks again Andy.

We would like to strongly recommend Andy (along with so many other extremely satisfied customers on this forum). His company is called Andyman services and we have seen other threads (eg. Handyman recommended ?.. Andy/ Recommendations for Handyman needed) where customers have posted very positive reviews about him.

Andy has completed other jobs for us in the past, including painting and decorating and bathroom works.

Today he has just given our shower room a makeover and it looks fantastic! He removed old silicone and replaced it. He also sorted out a leaking shower tray and renovated a sink and shower head.

Andy cares about the work and was keen to ensure that the various jobs were completed to our satisfaction. We were impressed by the way he tidied up as he went along. He also left the area he was working in looking immaculate at the end of each day.

Andy is helpful - offering advice and tips about how best to maintain the works in the future. He is reliable and professional and we are extremely happy to recommend him!

I also highly recommend Andy / Andyman services!

He quoted for a day's worth of jobs that needed doing following our move into the property. I was impressed by his reliable and clear communication, general approachability, taking his time to listen, attention to detail, and ability to explain how and why he would do each job, including:

- draught proofing the front door/letterbox

- resealing the shower

- fitting a toilet seat which i would normally do myself but couldn't as it was boxed in

- fitting a curtain rail

- sanding/planing the base of a bedroom door so it would shut properly

- fixing door knobs

- fitting a Roman blind in the bathroom

Andy left the place extremely clean and tidy and clearly takes care in the word he completes. Will definitely be booking him in again for handyman jobs in future. Highly recommended - Andy 07564 194 363

thank you!

I have recommended Andy before and am recommending him again! There were a few external and severe leaking pipes at the side of our property. Andy carried out the necessary repairs thoroughly and quickly without any complication. His reliability and communication is flawless.

Highly recommend Andy who painted our living room and installed some skirting board. Andy was reliable, communicated everything, and went out of his way to fit around our work schedules. Delightful tradesperson to have around - friendly, considerate and tidy.

After finding Andy details on this forum I hired him to replace an outdoor vent.

After being so

Impressed by his punctuality and communication I asked him for a quote and he has just finished decorating my 2 bedroom flat from skirting to ceiling

I highly recommend Andy he has painted my property as if it was his own

He even took time out of his busy day to fix wonky shelves / chairs for me even though I didnt ask him

He has been a godsend, polite , hardworking and most importantly

Honest

I can?t recommend him enough

Another recommendation for Andy. Asked him back again to carry out some repairs, including replacing door threshold strips and a bathroom sink tap.

As ever, he is punctual, perfect communication and gets the job done within given timeframe. Cannot fault him or his work.

I can endorse other recommendations on this forum for Andy - 07564 194363. Am selling my house and booked Andy at fairly short notice to regrout the grotty bathroom shower unit in time for the estate agent's photos. He worked over the weekend and finished just as the photographer arrived! Thanks, Andy

Hello

Another recommendation for Andy - Andy came over to our place in West Norwood to stop cold air getting in between the glazed bay and timber floor. He listened very well to what we were asking for, and did a very neat and great job.

In the lead up to the job, he was very good at communicating with us, recommended and even helped us learn a bit more about the kinds of products we needed to buy well in advance of the appointment, and the correct price for these. On the day it turned out that after all there was some better stuff yet, and he kindly went out to bring it to use. There was a bit of time where he had to wait for me to return home, and during that time he vacuumed the floor and dusted behind the fridge!

Thank you very much, Andy! We look forward to seeing you next time! Sasha & Adrian

Recommendation for Andy who re did the silicone in my shower this week. He did a great job, cleaned and hoovered everywhere he?d been working, gave me some tips for maintaining the silicone for longer and also fixed the sticky plug in the sink. I have asked him to come back to do some more work for me.

Based on EDF reviews, we asked Andy to sort out a tricky, messy, gap around a large roof light that needed filling in. He took a great deal of care to find the most appropriate solution, which involved a couple of visits instead of doing a rush job. He wanted to get it right. It was worth it. Happy customer and happy to recommend.
Andy was round today to deal with a variety of jobs including replacing the sealant around my kitchen sink, cutting down a 20 ft yucca plant and lots of ivy growth, repairing a lock on a window, replacing a shower spray and filling some holes under the back door. He was very user friendly and courteous. Would recommend.
Andy did a really great job fixing a number of things that needed fixing in my house including my garden fence and bath panel. He also helped put up pictures and curtains. Was really impressed with Andy?s work, he was also very reliable and I would definitely use him again.

We have just used Andy for a verity of jobs (inc cutting down an over massively over grown hedge, putting up shelfs and pictures and building a TV cabinet).. All the work was completed to a good standard, he was polite and was a very reasonable rate. Highly recommended.

Another recommendation for Andy.

He has helped me out, often at very short notice, on a number of occasions now. As others have said, he has always been excellent in his communication, his thoughtfulness and the quality of his work (often going above and beyond the specific items we had agreed), and the reasonableness of his prices. And a great bloke to top it off! Thanks Andy!!

    • And from what I remember, she eventually cut the tea shop for a similar  reason to chandelier.  Chariot style buggies
    • Oh yes, it could have been about there, I can't remember exactly. At one point there seemed to be a load of pizza places opening on NCR. I vaguely remember the one we used to use was put out of business by another one which opened. Wasn't Grace and Favour's food offering more of a tea shop at the back of the actual shop? If memory serves the owner, whose name escapes me now, was one of the earliest people I know to move to Hastings. Which must now be crammed with South East Londoners 🤣

    • Hi Dogkennelhillbilly, You won't be aware that i proposed infill sites for housing in East Dulwich - the garages on Bassano Street and Henslowe that respectively became 1-4 Dill Terrace family houses and the 78, 80, 80A Henslowe Street family houses. These were council owned garages and it was frustrating how slow the council was to go from my idea to completion (roughly eight years). East Dulwich has some other vacant WW2 bomb sites I'm guessing that the private land owners have been sitting on.Owe for a land tax for vacant land.  WRT to the builders yard by East dulwich station. Southwark Council has an agreed policy the area should remain suburban 2/3 storeys maximum. But the approved scheme is 9 storeys of student accommodation. Very hard to put this genie back in the bottle. The council has recently publicly stated lower ratios of social housing will be required. I will be amazed if the developer doesn't submit another application now they have the 9 storeys approved but with significantly less social housing. The less social housing the higher the land values. The higher the land values the less social housing viability reports state are possible.  If we really want to increase home supply - Southwark have over 6,000 empty homes. Vancouver charges a low % of the value of empty homes and rapidly eased this problem. Parts of Wales have introduced under Article 4 planning permission is required for second homes seeing within 12 months a dramatic decrease in property prices. Southwark Council have Article 4 requirements - why not add this one? It takes National political will to solve this AND regional and local authorities such as the second home council tax premium and these being used promptly.
