Good Pub Quiz?

Just wondered if there's a good pub quiz in the area...we're

looking for a good, lively atmosphere, a quizmaster who knows what they're doing and

questions which are both difficult and fun. Any ideas??

The one at the Plough is good. It usually starts at about 8.30ish, and has plenty of competition. I highly recommend it.

The Crown & Greyhound in the village on Sunday's 7ish is great fun.

Have had a really good night at the Quiz and then bar games at the All Bar One (Perry Vale), just by Forest Hill Station. A real good mix of people and questions.

There is a good pub quiz at the Hob (opp. Forest Hill Station) on a Thursday. Starts at 9pm and hosted each week by a different comedian.

The CPT used to run a really good quiz (on a Wednesday) until it was taken / made over. Does anyone know if the couple that ran it are now hosting a quiz elsewhere?

My flatmate and I go to the Herne pub quiz every Sunday at 1930. Its a really good quiz and the quizmaster is excellent!

Gowlett quiz is grand - last Sunday of the month with Phil Nice and chocolate. Lots of chocolate.

The Gowlett did a good one on Mondays, but it now just does a monthly one on Sundays. The Montpelier does a good one on Tuesdays, but has stopped for the summer rather bizarrely. Anyone know of one on a Wednesday?

Not sure why that's bizarre!

People are away during the Summer, plus many people prefer to sit outside rather than inside on light Summer evenings.

meh, the guy who hosts it is pretty annoying. There's a guy who drinks in there with an amazing old white Bristol. He walked out as soon as the quizmaster started talking a few months ago, uttering every name under the sun about him as he walked out!

The Herne Tavern does a good one on Sundays with play your cards right afterwards. Starts at 7.30pm. Good burgers there too :)
