Atila, you're never interested in England games. You only like watching the Arse, oh and maybe Barca. You're normally out playing football for the Under 12s on a Wednesday night right? I'll agree that most friendlies are crap but come on, it is Brazil FFS.

What I would like to see though is Ireland give the French a bloody good tonking. I may even go to The Castle to watch it, though more likely the CPT.

That has to be the funniest post I've read in a long, long time. Is this the same Dunne that couldn't get near him when he was over here, and was breathing through his arse trying to catch up with him. Nearly as funny as watching Carragher trying to keep pace with him.

Hey Jah how are you old chap? Did you enjoy watching your game at our place. I know I did. Leadboots King really should think about hanging up his boots.

Who plays for? Liverpool. Who, strangely enough aren't what they once were.

If he tried to hang up his boots he'd be out injured for another month.

Lucas is a great player, unfortunately at Liverpool he is not encouraged to venture over the half way line. Hopefully tomorrow, if he plays, he'll be allowed to cut loose just like he did against the Mancs few weeks back when he totally dominated the United midfield.

Yeah! I loved it so much I bought the DVD. Fabulous stuff. It's called 42 minutes. A Commorative DVD celebrating Tottenham's first 42 minutes against the Arsenal. Do you want a copy?

Objective as ever....

Er, that's basically my point mate. Cheers for making it for me.

Matthew, Lucas is sh!t, it's that sort of player that Liverpool give far too much time on the pitch, which is why they are where they are. Well that's what I think anyway.

I think the problem is Keef, he and Mascherano are both being used as holding midfielders doing 1 man's job. He rarely get's the opportunity to express his full ability in that restricted position. I've seen enough of him to say he is really a box to box player with good power and pace, and good passer of the ball. Hopefully he will play against England and demonstrate his qualities.
I'm not saying there is a witch hunt against Rafa but Mick I think you need to look at the bigger picture before you jump on the anti Rafa band wagon. For instance we don't know what those damn Yanks put in Rafa's contract. For all we know there is a clause that says Voronin has to play. We really don't know. Anyway Rafa is a good lad and because of that we should not blame Rafa for anything that goes wrong. Are you on message now Mick? :))

No, this'll be the fitter more experienced with better positional play Dunne against the older and inevitably slower Henry. Don't underestimate Dunne, look what's happened to City's goals against column since he went.

Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to Bahrain vs New Zealand. Lots of family connections in NZ and this is a very big deal for them. Eurosport, 7am kick off, second leg, start at 0-0.

and so do all Utd fans...the bottom line is you can't afford to sack him even if the Yanks wanted to...

Thanks for your kind and generous offer which I must decline. I have an offer for you, a DVD called "Arsenal win title at shite hart lane (again) season 03/04" alternatively titled "Watch spuds fans celebrate a 2 2 draw as if they've won the league forgetting it's the opposition that that have just won the league". It's a great comedy!

    • Post much better this Xmas.  Sue posted about whether they send Xmas cards; how good the post is,  is relevant.  Think I will continue to stay off Instagram!
    • These have reduced over the years, are "perfect" lives Round Robins being replaced by "perfect" lives Instagram posts where we see all year round how people portray their perfect lives ?    The point of this thread is that for the last few years, due to issues at the mail offices, we had delays to post over Christmas. Not really been flagged as an issue this year but I am still betting on the odd card, posted well before Christmas, arriving late January.
    • Two subjects here.  Xmas cards,  We receive and send less of them.  One reason is that the cost of postage - although interestingly not as much as I thought say compared to 10 years ago (a little more than inflation).  Fun fact when inflation was double digits in the 70s cost of postage almost doubled in one year.  Postage is not a good indication of general inflation fluctuating a fair bit.  The huge rise in international postage that for a 20g Christmas card to Europe (no longer a 20g price, now have to do up to 100g), or a cheapskate 10g card to the 'States (again have to go up to the 100g price) , both around a quid in 2015, and now has more than doubled in real terms.  Cards exchanged with the US last year were arriving in the New Year.  Funnily enough they came much quicker this year.  So all my cards abroad were by email this year. The other reason we send less cards is that it was once a good opportunity to keep in touch with news.  I still personalise many cards with a news and for some a letter, and am a bit grumpy when I get a single line back,  Or worse a round robin about their perfect lives and families.  But most of us now communicate I expect primarily by WhatApp, email, FB etc.  No need for lightweight airmail envelope and paper in one.    The other subject is the mail as a whole. Privitisation appears to have done it no favours and the opening up of competition with restrictions on competing for parcel post with the new entrants.  Clearly unless you do special delivery there is a good chance that first class will not be delivered in a day as was expected in the past.   Should we have kept a public owned service subsidised by the tax payer?  You could also question how much lead on innovation was lost following the hiving off of the national telecommunications and mail network.
    • Why have I got a feeling there was also a connection with the beehive in Brixton on that road next to the gym
