That bollocks Narnia. Robbie Keane's scored 45 goals for the Republic. You've got to miss some to score some and that's a great goalscoring record he's got there. He's also your record goalscorer. Who else has regularly scored at his rate over the years for Ireland? No one has come remotely close. I reckon you're still pissed off for his penalty miss the other night. Get over it.

He's not as sharp as he was but he's still a top class player. There is plenty of competition up front at Spurs so it's hard for him to get a look-in. I think it is entirely possible he could be on the move in January. I think his time is up at Spurs.

You're right about Rooney. Vastly over-rated. A very good player against the Wigans and Boltons of this world but doesn't cut the mustard at the highest level. His current form is very poor. Good job Berbatov is doing the business for you.

Annasfield, cutting and pasting from the "Rafa is the greatest" website is hardly a rational argument and kind of proves my point.

You say I don't know anything about Liverpool because I can't be bothered to find out, fair enough. How come you and a huge amount of Liverpool fans seem to know so much about the internal workings of your club? I've been a West Ham fan for 25 years, bought season tickets, know a few ex players, my daughter has been a mascot. I have no idea about their finances, I'm interested to find out how Liverpool fans get such transparency?

I'm delighted the sale has gone through by the way, Forza Liverpool, hopefully it'll bring a modicum of reality.

We know so much because we care and bother to dispell the lies that are created by the media. It's not difficult to source that sort of information if you look in to it.

It's quite tiring when you meet someone and get chatting about football and someone who clearly likes and knows quite a lot about football tells you "Rafa had to go, his transfer record was shit!". Well actually it wasn't.

I quite like West Ham. A proper football club and always one of my favourite aways. I think LFC and West Ham have a similar type of fanbase. It's a shame really, as the tenure of Gillett and Hicks has turned those who really care about LFC attention away from the pitch. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to going to Goodison on Sunday and not having to go to a protest beforehand. Hopefully we can get back to football.

Where hopefully Everton will win :)

The real problem Liverpool has is living up to it's glory days. Every manager that comes in is expected to bring LFC back to that, and that's a big ask, especially given how much the game and club management has changed. Liverpool have had some good runs over recent years in the champions league, but the truth of the modern premiership is that money has taken over substance and I think Liverpool have become a victim of that. Big finance does not equate to silverware as Chelsea have found out in their pursuit of the Champions League trophy. Ultimately good managers who make the right choices are who make the difference. I think Benitez was limited in what he could achieve with Liverpool.

To be fair to the Killer she did say in pursuit of the Champions League though they did lose on a penalty kick (Arf! John Terry) in a final. I too remember when they were shit but I also remember the great teams they had in the late 60s early 70s with Hudson, Osgood, Cooke, Hutchinson etc. I used to go and see them a bit then (70/71/72) and stand in The Shed when I was moonlighting from White Hart Lane and they were a bloody good side to watch.

As a response to DJKQ's post yesterday, I think you need a good manager AND a shed load of moey for real sucess these days. One or the other will not do it.

Pains me to say it, but Fergie is a great manager, but I suspect he wouldn't have done so well at a smaller club over the years. Equally, you can give all the money in the world to a guy, but if he doesn't spend it well, then get his team playing as a unit, it won't bring you any silverware.

Anyway, Everton 1-0 up at half time. Come on you reds!

Annoys me a bit how people in the press were expecting a totally different Liverpool today. Yes they will be pleased it's all sorted, but it's still the same team it was last week.

Oh well, can't say as I wasn't expecting the pool to lose today. I'm not too worried about the table, because a couple of wins can make a massive difference. BUT, they can't get any layers in until January, and Woy needs to get their chins up a lot sooner than that, or they really might be in trouble.

    • Most churches rent out halls for children's' parties but rarely adult parties, Christ Church only does afternoon parties,   The East Dulwich Community centre hires out halls to 9 pm only and all music needs to be on a sound restrictor as is in a residential area. St Johns with St Clements have a small hall but not sure if they allow adult parties. Nunhead Green has a newish community centre with a couple of different size halls. Most places seem to charge around £40 ph  with a deposit of £100/200 (returned if no damage or excess cleaning needed.
    • Hello, Recently there have been various comments made on the forum which have resulted in heated discussions being had. I for one, hold up my hand and wanted to personally thank whoever is keeping the forum going.. remember when it was likely to close. We are all adults and should known when it is right to continue or just ignore or if really feel it necessary comment via pm. I have had a long relationship with the forum and have bought, sold, offered advice and in deed made friends on the forum over the years. It is a public forum after all and everyone is entitled to express their opinion and is also free. I am not as tech minded as most but with the season of good will approaching and-knowing in this economic climate how many people are  struggling, I  thought it would be a lovely idea, to perhaps set up a just giving page to raise funds for a local charity who might appreciate a contribution towards their Christmas festivities… On a practical side, might just be to complicated to administer as I am sure all have charities that we support so my other thought was not me, as I am useless but to set up a just giving page and whatever monies are raised, perhaps contribute to the festivities that use to be run by local shops or whatever.. Maybe even use a local church hall and just make it special for perhaps folk that find it difficult to access events or no access for say wheel chair users.. guess really, one is looking for guidance from the church and of course volunteers. Shoot me down if you must or feel the need but this is my view and no, sadly I won’t be around in the months before Christmas but can help remotely.
    • Hi all Does anyone know someone who can make a window seat cushion and cover? See image of window seat. Thank you.
    • Don't know why but it seems like there have been impromptu fireworks since early September. At one point I even wondered if there was a shooting range or something like that over Dulwich Hamlet way- the direction where the firework sounds seem to be coming from? Is there some kind of new, fireworks craze going on and where are people getting them, out of season?
