What a lovely christmas present. I get to watch M.O.D, buy a newspaper ( i only ever do this if the Hammers win)and stay up to listen to Cricket. Hooray.

I'd like to know how many goals we have concede from corners this season, the lessons are not being learnt there and for that reason I still think we're doomed.

Apart from that I'm really quite optimistic!

Oh my, comic genius at its best. How did it take to put that little gem together or did you get your mum to write it for you?

Mightily pissed off with Blackpool. Got 180 miles in to a 250 mile journey yesterday only for them to do the inevitable.

The original pitch inspection was supposed to be at midday, but Spirit of Shankly put pressure in them to either call it off or do it earlier. From what I can gather Blackpool was full of Scousers last night.

Game is rearranged for 12th January. Are we expecting a heatwave between now and then?

Think you're hoping for complete free-fall there. The relegation battle is going to be very messy this year with most of the bottom half of the table being involved.

Damn, only just seen this post Quids, I would of loved to have watched the match with you :-(

...next time

I was at White Hart Lane today. A very good couple of days for us. Two wins from two games home and away with ten men. Newcastle came to rough us up but our quality passing game won the day. Two excellent goals from Lennon and Bale. Up to fourth and above Chelsea. If we can beat Fulham at home on Saturday (which we should) that's a full nine points from three games over the Xmas period and I cant remember the last time we did that. COYS!

Yep. May have been a couple of technicalities about Lee Bowyer's equaliser (foul, handball, offside), but result was the least Birmingham deserved. Lee Mason's refereeing could be described as idiosyncratic (at best). or crap because it's easier to type.

    • Before going to Social Media it is always worth checking out the details: Southwark's spending for this year: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/council-tax/how-we-manage-council-tax/our-budget-and-how-we-spend-council-tax/our-income-and As you will see, as with most if not all London Boroughs, shed loads goes on social care and children's services.  The cost of paying for residential care, and for 'specialist schools is massive.  As with other boroughs they have been hit hard by austerity under the coalition government.  And the failure by successive governments to sort out social care.  That is a thread all in its own rights. Local authorities of all political persuasions across England are facing tough times, several have gone into administration: Birmingham, Woking, Thurrock, Croydon, Slough, Northamptonshire, and Nottingham and 11 are on bailouts.   Covid will not have helped.  Some will have made some poor investment decisions in the past eg Thurrock and Woking;  Some total mismanagement and one has been hit by historical debt through not paying their workers fairly (Brum).   Reform promise simple solutions to cutting spending.  Not that easy is it Nige?
