Moxon's Next Door Opens Tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Hypothetical ED conversations. Tick one answer:

'Hey that new restaurant is open, shall we try it?'

a). 'Yes, but check which members of the local community will be there on the night we book so I can be seen'.

b). 'Yes, lets see if they have a table in eleven weeks time'.

c). 'Ok,Saturday?

d). 'No, it's new and makes me cross'.

I was wrong...

Its not about being seen.. It's more about seeing yourself..

You walked into the party

Like you were walking on a yacht

Your hat strategically dipped below one eye

Your scarf, it was apricot

You had one eye on the mirror

And watched yourself gavotte

The only reason I would not go to Moxons Next Door is that I'm not a big fish eater.

I'm sure they will do well. Please post your reviews after your visit.

Don?t encourage the usual suspects foxy. I?d rather go along and experience for myself, than rely on others.

Louisa.

Jeez some people need to get a grip, I went there off the back of reading this thread and hearing it was good. My wife and I go out very rarely these days and wanted to try something new that was a bit different

As Alice said it?s also about supporting a new local business

P.s also asked for a table away from the window as don?t like people watching me eat as they walk by...

Well, the thread was posted by the owners as a pre opening awarneness notification. It's done its job. Nice restaurant, but does it still need an ongoing dedicated thread in the ED General section...... on which everyone has to stick to topic? Surely its now a local businesses issue (or lounge where the normal uncoordinated bunfight can take place)

We all want it to do well. But surely everyone is aware of its existence now.

Went this evening for my birthday treat. Very nice - we had 3 small plates and the lobster, green salad, chips and bread between 2. Really lovely and followed it with cherry br?l?e (ok, more mousse and no crunchy topping) and lemon tart (gorgeous). Looking round at other tables, the smoked fish platter looked good and was probably the best bargain. Not too expensive all round and will go for another treat again.

    • To put this over dramatic and somewhat gleeful post in context, the policy has not "failed at first hurdle." "It is just a temporary decision. The judge granted a pause of at least 14 days so the man, who is not being named for legal reasons and arrived in the UK on a small boat last month, could provide evidence of his claim that he has been a victim of modern day slavery." from BBC website

    • Is  the  decision by the High Court not to  deport an Eritrean man  to France on Wednesday anything other than a massive boost for Farage and reform. Farage has made a commitment for the UK to exit the ECHR which limits the independence of our justice system The UK Government’s “one in, one out” has failed at the first hurdle - just as the Rwanda scheme did under the Tories. To make it even more embarrassing is that the accommodation for deportees   in Rwanda paid for by the UK is now being used by the USA for its deportees. If we are to have Farage thrust upon us as a result of such judicial decisions, then God help us.
